Day Twenty-Three of Mapling: Having completed Nessy's commission and the most urgent of Emi's edits, I let myself Maple again last night. XD I'd actually intended to work on more edits, but my graphics computer's monitor was jiggling. o_O; Every two or three seconds, the display would spasm from side to side a little bit, and it was murdering my eyeballs to try setting pixels down on this epileptic monitor, so I loaded up Maple Story instead. I sent Merichan to Ellinia to buy a Green Wizardry Hat and Blue Split Piece for Losan and then spent over half an hour transferring items between my four characters. Not for the first nor last time do I wish that the storage NPC could hold unlimited items for you. I hung out in the hidden Wild Boar map and the Horned and Green Mushroom trees for a little bit, but it was kind of slow, because I had to keep running all over the map to keep the spawn rate up. Kill stealers suck, but having at least one other person to share the map nicely with is awesome. X3 You keep the spawn rate up for each other while staying in your own section of the map, and everyone is happy. Finally ended up taking both accounts over to Pig Beach. The piggies don't give much EXP, but Merichan can kill a bunch in just one minute so long as the spawn rate stays up, so I guess I'll stay here for a while. The occassional gold ores are a nice bonus, and one can never have too many leathers. *hee* Just before I signed off, I traded p00k13 100k for a bow she wanted to buy. I was planning to just give the mesos to her, but she traded me a buttload of ores in return. ^^ *staggers around with 57 Bronze Ores somehow stuffed into one pocket* I had to drop some snail shells and what not in order to carry all of the ores, and a vulture swooped in and began stalking me in the hopes that I'd drop something else. ^^; Losan picked up a Metal Axe from a Slime or Stump while travelling from Henesys to the Three Way Road Split. I've got all these low-level equips, but since sign-ups are closed and there aren't many newbies left, I'm not sure what I can do with these things. ^^; Everyone else is at a higher level than I am already except Gabrella, but she's a Magician and all the stuff I'm picking up is for thieves and warriors. Oh wait, except for that skirt...must see if she wants it. I'm assuming that they'll re-open sign-ups for when Maple goes commercial and can support more servers. Perhaps I should keep everything until there are newbies again to sell, trade, or give these things to. Speaking of newbies, since Blackbull's quest has no level or job requirements, perhaps I should give Perion scrolls, Tree Branches, and Firewood to the mules and see if they can get a Red Triangular Shield out of him. If nothing else, I'll have two more Steel Shields to sell back to the store or trade to another user, so it's no loss even if I can't get the better shield for Merichan. I need to hunt up more Omok Tables anyway. *nod nod* To do for tonight:
See if Gabrella is online and ask her if she wants a White Split Skirt (level 18 female Magician equip).
Split Etc. items between Losan and Merichan to open up some space in Merichan's inventory.
Go to Perion and buy some Perion Scrolls.
Go to the hidden Stump map and collect sets of 30 Tree Branches and 50 Firewood until I have enough for the mules to do BlackBull's quest.
Go to Lith and give the mules the wood and scrolls and send them on their way. Process any leftovers into planks.
Bring the mules back to Lith, transfer items between the four characters, and update inventory lists.
Buy some Lith scrolls since I'm nearly out, and then send Merichan and Losan back to Pig Beach.

Day Twenty-Four of Mapling: I am a Paaaaage! *waves The Beheader around as she runs all over Perion, screaming with happiness*
I went to the Ant Tunnel section of the Dungeon in order to go hunt Evil Eyes. The last few times I did so, I just wandered around the right side of the map where the 24 hour van is. This time, however, I took a peek inside the lower left hand portal and found that there's a map with nothing but Evil Eyes and an occassional Jr. Boogie. Hallelujah! I sucked up pots and Hot Dogs like there was no tomorrow, but I was bound and determined to complete all of Nella's quests, and I needed those Evil Eye's Tails. An Ice/Lightning Wizard asked if I wanted to party up with him, and so I found myself being levelled by this level 50 mage. He let me loot him up one side and down the other, too. By the time he'd levelled me to 30, I was holding over 1,300 Evil Eye's Tails. *laugh* I don't know how long he's been playing, but he said that he's gone through the second job advancement for every class. o_O; He seemed to be working on at least one sub-class as well, since his Ice/Lightning mage grassmagic was levelling his future Cleric, grasscleric. Anyway, he levelled me from 29 to 30 in about four hours, let me loot him like nuts, and asked nothing in return. *heart* On the downside, he was killstealing p00k13 and Sawney like nuts. ^^;
There was another 29'er being levelled in the party whose name was SkyScrapper. I gave him 30 Bronze Ores so that he could make a claw of some sort. He reached level 30 about an hour before I did, and merrily went off to hunt Cold Eyes for the Thief's 2nd Job Advancement test. The Warrior's 2nd Job Advancement turned out to be Fire Boars and Lupins. The Fire Boars were no problem, but those Lupins blow. >< Luckily I had loaded up on both HP and MP potions, so I just Power Slashed my way around the map a few times. I had thirty Dark Marbles in about twenty minutes. *pets Fire Boars* I wish you could hoard and trade those things...it would have been nice to collect a double set so that I wouldn't have to collect them again with Losan when he wanted to become a Cleric. *heh*
I completed Nella's quest and got Emerald Battle Grieves for Merichan. Her outfit is now a motley assortment of pinkish bronze, grey steel, blue cloth, and emerald green. *laugh* I think I want to specialize in blunt weapons rather than swords, since I hear that blunt weapons are just as good as swords in the long run, but that the popularity of swords drives the price on them up for no other reason than that they are cool looking. ^^; I'd rather save my mesos to put toward armor and food.
I was wandering around Henesys with Losan and found a few in-map warps that I hadn't known about in the muti-tiered map two or three maps to the left of Henesys. There's a platform with Stumps on it that you can't get to unless you use the invisible portal layered over a rabbit hole on the ground level. *hee* I had a hard time levelling with him over the weekend because everywhere I went, there was a hacker or two being selfish with the enemies. @_@ I'll need to go back to levelling him with Merichan I think, since I can't seem to find lower-level enemies for him to level on alone.

Random Idea:
Perhaps I should level both of my mules up to 15 and make them Warriors. That way, I'll have more inventory room and I will be able to fame my friends more often.
Heck, maybe I should make two more mules and level them up to 15 too. With six characters, I can fame Emi once every five days! XD And with the added storage space, I won't have to sell any equips back to the store and can just sit on them until there are more newbies in Maple. ^^

*HA* Did it this morning before I left for work. XD Now I have four mules. Merro, LeMule, Milachan, and JajaHama are now sitting around in Lith, waiting to be levelled so that they can become faming mules.
I guess I'll take them out one by one with Merichan and level them at Pig Beach until they're all level 10, then send them to Perion to become Warriors so that they can get that extra line of inventory space. After that, it'll be back to Pig Beach until they're level 15, and then the trip home to Lith so that they can stand around and fame friends. XD Heck, I guess I can fame myself, unless Maple doesn't let same account characters fame each other.
I still can't believe Blackbull wants me to get 100 Stone Gollem's Piece of Rock. Gah.

Day Twenty-Five of Mapling: Vincent levelled Merro and LeMule for me at Pig Beach last night. I finished Emi's edits half an hour after she logged out, so I was able to finish levelling LeMule up to level 10 and take him to Perion to get those extra inventory slots. Shogun Gari promised to level my mules tonight, and then I'll be able to level one of the male mules myself Friday night. *mwee*
I said yesterday that I'd take all the mules out one by one with Merichan but duh...obviously I can't level the female mules with my female main. I'll have to wait until Losan is buff enough to rock Pig Beach solo unless I can get the girl-mules levelled to 15 by other people. *hee*
I'll do John's first quest with at least two of the mules to get my hands on some extra Screws. I need sixty for Losan and Merichan both to do Blackbull's second quest, and I only have twenty left after completing Nella's first quest set with my two mains.

Day Twenty-Six of Mapling: Updated my Marketplace post with the different stats on monster-dropped equips and color-coded the items so that I could tell at a glance which character is holding them. *feels productive*
Shogun Gari levelled MilaChan and JajaHama last night while I was having dinner and playing with the baby. *hee* Both the male mules are now Warriors. *woot* If I can't meet up with Sandgorgon_NOM tonight I'll take them one by one to the Green Mushroom Tree in Ellinia and have Merichan level them there until they can fame, and then I'll go do John's first jump quest with them to get those extra Screws. Then JajaHama will get stationed in Sleepywood, and LeMule will go back to sitting around in Lith Harbor.
If I do find Sandgorgon_NOM on Maple, then I guess I'll stick MilaChan in a corner and play as Losan so I can help tank for the mule. X3 I wonder if Losan can solo at Pig Beach now...haven't tried it yet.

Days Twenty-Seven and Twenty-Eight of Mapling: Losan is at 50% of level 19. *bwee* Some hardcore pigging and potioning should get him up to level 20 in just one session. After that it will be a race to level 30 so that I can finally have my very own support Cleric. ^^
Apparently both the difference in level between the killer and the leecher(s) as well as the level between the monster killed and the leecher(s) determines the amount of EXP shared out in a party. I tried both Horned and Green Mushrooms with Merichan and Losan within five minutes of each other, and while Losan did not receive a share of the Horned EXP, he did get a share of the Green EXP. And while Sandgorgon_NOM levelled MilaChan, she got more EXP off of the same type of enemies when he was on his lower level character.
So apparently the most efficient way to level a character is to party up with a character close in level and then kill monsters that are also within their level range.
[edit] I forgot - and I can't believe I did - to add that I got a 10% Bottomwear Defense scroll from a Slime. I also got my very first Garnet Ore ever from a Snail. I wonder if Garnets are rare or it's just that I don't kill the enemies that drop them very often. *hee*

Day Twenty-Nine of Mapling...sucked.
Someone offered to help Losan level in exchange for a fame. I famed them and then they added me to their party, but after something like ten minutes, they left. =_= Thanks...I could have levelled myself to that point without any problem. They weren't even killing many enemies. I was practically levelling myself anyway.
And then I got bombarded by beggars most of the night. "Give me blue potions." I'm a low-level magician...do I look like I wouldn't need blue potions myself? I handed out things ten at a time so that I wouldn't run out. Only half of the beggars said "thank you." *sigh*
I climbed onto the pig platform at Pig Beach and began killing piggies. A mage had been hanging on a rope and he climbed up and began kill-stealing me. I tried to get one pig from the three that spawn, but he kept on finishing it off and THEN attacking the other two. He was deliberately keeping me from getting any kills. I politely asked what the hell his problem was and he told me that since he was there first, I should leave and find an empty spot.
Right. An empty spot in Pig Beach. I told him to learn to share the MMORPG and then went to the ground level, but another mage immediately swooped in on me from the left side of the screen and began kill-stealing me. He stood RIGHT in front of me no matter where I moved to and one-hit-killed the pigs I began hitting. Do I have a sign on my magician that says, "Stop me from levelling and you win a million mesos, two Panlids, and a date with Britney Spears?"
Being online kills my faith in humanity sometimes.
The one good note is that Losan is finally level 20. I'm so disgusted with Maple that I can't really be happy about it right now though. ><

Days Thirty and Thirty-One of Mapling: Losan is now level 21. I actually managed to get Merro to 15 by repeatedly clearing the Henesys Hunting Grounds II map from top to bottom. I finally have one finished mule. :3 Now to get the other three to level 15.
