NeoBlue Hmm... interestingly enough I could wear a griffendor scarf to school and not be made fun of, as red and gold are the school colors. The school I was in until grade 10 had official colours of blue and orange. The person who decided on them must have hated the students there at the time something awful. The school I went to for grades 11 and 12 after I moved here had blue and white, much nicer on the eyes. BadLoki Mmmm... HP goodness. I have read all those books. All within a two month span eek ! I have no info on happening retail places, but I do liek this site: www.mugglenet.com *Vanishes in a puff of wizardy smoke or something all mysterious and dramatic like that* The first time I read the books, I was in grade 11. I started them on a monday, and finished all 4 that were out at the time by the following sunday. sweatdrop Not including time spent at school, and sleep... though sleep certainly took second place during that week. xd If I ate, it was while reading, I did shower, but I was quick. Peppy the Pirate Gemstone ~plays with Peppy's boobies~ twisted Hey! Look with you eyes, not your hands! I know not of what you speaking! ~insert innocent facial expression in front of avitar's~

Gemstone Peppy the Pirate OK, I've finished book three. Book four is my favourite, book five is my least-favourite. Agreed on Book Four. My least favorite is Book Two. And Book Five was good... Except for that particular toad-faced character that seriously pissed me off... That's why I liked the book: It made me hate one character SO BAD...

Ditto for that horrible Umbridge woman. Possibly one of the most unlikable characters in any sort of fiction, reaching the malevolent heights Roald Dahl so effortlessly managed, disgusting character-wise. My fave book remains book three, since it makes the tightest read - the later ones ramble too much for my own tastes...

"That horrible Skeeter woman" still pisses me off, but yes, Umbridge was particularily loathsome. The main problem I had with book 5 was Harry's attitude, it seemed like every other page Harry was having another yelling competition with no one. Feh, he was my favourite character until book 5. Perhaps I havn't forgiven the book for that or something ~shrugs~ I sure as hell respect Neville now though.

Harry's actually quite a realistic portrayal of a teenaged boy in the height of puberty and hormone problems - and one who has the fate of wizardom squarely on his shoulders while being left entirely in the dark on what exactly is going on (ah, Dumbledore... all your fault, you old coot), AND with a couple of horrible teachers breathing down his neck in the shape of Umbridge and Snape. Oh, and Harry is a bit of a drama queen and emo to boot. He'd probably listen to Linkin Park if he was in the Muggle world.

It just really bothered me, I mean, I do sympathasize and I believe once I read it for the 2nd time I'll accept it more, but I had a really hard time accepting it. A few chapters in I started getting annoyed as he had yet another outburst.

I just noticed the thread title change....
An internet friend of mine exclaimed that very thing as his first reaction on Chamber of Secrets, alongside his usual wibblings on his obsession with Hermoine.
We don't call him a creepy uncle for nowt.
