I believe it's just a sign of the times. It went through it's phase in Japan and other countries even as it was just hitting our shore.

I personally agree with the other posters who were saying it was because their later products were not nearly to the quality of their earlier. That was due to part (as we here all probably/hopefully know by now) of their competition with (and eventual aquirance of) ITG/Roxor which lead to rush-production of so/so games.

I also transitioned over to Pump It Up because it became one of the only local, working machines in my area. As well the local malls have disposed of their DDR machines because of lack of activity. I personally like the music of Pro because it is different from the standard DDR and combines with ITG music.

I do still occasionally play at home, but have recently traded in my later editions and kept Max, Max 2, extreme, and extreme 2 because I actually play those mixes.

(I apologize if any of what I said was confusing - I am taking a break from finals studying and my brain is slightly done...lol)
Since when the f**k did we have intelligent posters other than myself and XIII.

Though I wouldn't say "competition" from ITG/Roxor in general has much to do with it though. The DDR games released during ITG's existence were a lot better than what we're getting now. Maybe ITG's presence helped DDR, if anything.

Konami's just plain getting lazy. Even their Japanese releases are starting to show it, what with them quietly stopping production of Pop'n Music and GFDM home versions, and Empress being an overall letdown thus far. D:

I got too fat... DUH! I used to play when I was thin... But when I gained weight, I found out that I had asthma, and then it was too difficult to play anymore. Ugh, I miss the times when I would play for hours.

If the pads were actually maintained, I'd totally play it. It was in unplayable condition last time I tried. D:

I only play it there because it is the only place I have ever seen it. Lol. It was nice seeing you today. I hope the holidays aren't getting you down. But if they do, let me know, and I will help if I can.

we have to face it, but DDR has met is highest point.
not because DDR is bad, it has actually become better..

a bit more balanced. the big issue is that DDR has become quite the standard game. the big fad hanging around DDR has been gone.
The big craze now is Guitar hero, aka the Guitar maniac ripp-off.

What will make DDR popular again, isn't releasing new games.
What will make it popular again is re-newing it. This means that people have to forget about the game and think its something new.

So, now that I have access to a 360, I've been playing Universe 3.

I'm not terribly fond of the way it's laid out, but the songlist and the stepcharts are absolutely fantastic. The team behind these games need to start producing arcade games. That alone would revive didder, imo.

They made murmur twins a 10 for god's sake. :DDD

It all looks very good.

It felt kind of....mungyodance-ish....minus the furry.
Which is a good thing.

I still love DDR and always will. That game is kickass. but its getting boring now. The songs suck! When I first started playing DDR the songs used to catch your attention and get you to want to play.

Why people dont want to play is : because its to hard for themmm. or to make it simple. THEY ARE TO DAMN LAZY TO GET OFF THERE a** AND ACTUALLY PLAY A VIDEO GAME!

when i ask my friends to join in and play DDR, they get kinda scared or ashamed. i also think it's because they either can't or they're too lazy to step up on the platform and dance.
i also believe it's because DDR's advertisements are not very good, i mean, if they could just do it like how Wii does it, then all is good.
people these days are just out of confidence and think negatively towards DDR. it's really sad. crying

I dunno, Guitar Hero World Tour is pretty alright.

Rockband and Rockband 2 is better though.

This thread has been dead for a year, just so you know.

This isn't a bad thread to bring back, but don't do it again please. D:
