"Gah!" he yelled, surprised. He turned around and backed up a few feet, blinking. "Oh...Clairence...You scared me for a--" but he paused as he saw the other's torso. Damn...he's better looking then me! He looked away and cleared his throat. "So...what shall we do about breakfast?" he asked, clearly confused on what to do. He was in this house with a man he had just met. He was also half asleep, so he couldn't really figure out what to do and what not to do.

Clairence smiled. "The cooks will make the meals, but all of the time in between is where we would train and learn more about the country...lessons. After supper today, the rest of the day is up to us, as the servants either leave or do what they wish. There will be other servants telling us our tasks for the day, but for now, I think all we need to do is go down to the dining area and eat. We'll learn more then, probably." He said, as soon as he walked into his room, the door open as he slipped on clean clothes, then soon stepping back out. "I presume that we would have our lessons together, if not our fathers have certain classes planned for us. We'll be together for most of the time." He smiled.

"Alright...Then let's go, I'm starving," he said, happily. He grabbed the other's hand and went down the long stairs and past a few rooms down a long corridor until they came to two large double doors. Kaname opened the doors and there was a large table in the center of the room. A small fireplace was next to the table. At one end of the room, there was a large window, lined with seats. Candles were around them and the fire cackled with slight life. "Not bad..." At the other side of the room, there was a set of double doors and maids came out of the room with platters, setting them on the table. Kaname walked with Clairence up to the table.

Clairence smiled, seeing the other grb his hand, a sign of affection he hadn't felt in a while. He wondered how long this small bit of happiness would last...
As Clairence walked with Kaname, who was leading the way, servants came up to them, giving them a scroll that read the map of the castle and its grounds, on the bottom, in blue ink, read: "If you are caught ouside of the castle grounds, you will be executed and the other prince will win the battle out of disqualification." Clair rolled the scroll back up, judiging by the ink, the writer seeming to be his father. Their schedules were now given after they had each eaten.
The schedules were basic, lessons about the geography, how the history was made, who were the kings before their fathers, swordfighting, simple things such as those. Clairence looked over the parchment, his eyes scanning quickly across it as he took a sip from his coffee. He wondered how the other would do during their swordfighting time, mostly worried about Kaname. But then, why was he worried about the other? He barely knew him. But he was worried anyway.

As Kaname was listening to Clairence and eating, he sighed, softly, realizing something. "Why can't our two kingdoms just...not fight over whose land this is? We've lived like this for a while..why not continue this way?" he said, more to himself, but he didn't realized that he was actually saying it and at normal talking volume. He blinked and shook his head. "Um, wow...I didn't mean to say that out loud..." he said, softly, a small blush of embarrassment on his face.
His emerald eyes looked at the other prince. "Don't worry about me during sword fighting... I'll be fine... I just have to keep focused... Usually I don't focus a lot, so I'm sometimes not at the top of my game," he said, rubbing the back of his neck.

Clairence chuckled softly, patting Kaname's head. "Hey now, that's not good. You should be alert when there are weapons in your hand or when someone else has a weapon." He said, half scolding the other and the other half smiling. He looked over at the clock nearby, then back at his schedule. "I have Geography first, which is at the top floor of he castle. What do you have, I'll tell you which floor it's on so it can be easier on you and your servent." He offered, knowing that their servants, who really acted as stalkers and followed either prince's footsteps, wouold be arriving soon. They did help and tell where one was to go, but usually, they were just extra shadows. It was quite annoying and needed getting used to, which Clair worried about, since he wondered how Kaname would act when he found two or three ladies watching and following his every move.

He winced at the pat and then blinked. He looked down at his own schedule and sighed, softly. "I have Science first... Great, such a hassle," he groaned. He soon finished his meal and stood. Bringing his left hand up, he tucked a lock of green hair behind his ear. He turned to face the other prince, smiling lightly. Kaname was mostly the cheerful kind, but for the morning, he was trying to get all his cheerfulness back on schedule. He wanted to show the other how he could act so that they could start to live like they had known each other forever. He had never felt like that way before towards someone... but why was he acting like this for Clairence?

Clairence thought for a moment, pausing, then found the words he had wanted to say. "That's the second floor, right under where I am. I'll probably see you when I'm switching to...." he glanced at his schedule, "...Literature. We'll see how the day goes from there." He smiled back at Kaname, their peace soon being broken by chattering from their new shadows, their servants. They promptly lead each other to their designatec classes, pushing then or making them in general get to where they had to be, acting like ocean waves and how they pushed up shells and driftwood and kelp. As they were parting ways, when they were about to turn the corner, Clairence mouthed to Kaname, 'Good luck.'

As the day went on, a the two would see each other through the hallways, nothing but a quick glance and perhaps a smile being shared before being pushed or shoved to their next activity. It ws not until their lunch that the two actually spoke to each other.

Kaname saw the mouthed words and smiled a gentle smile. When lunch approached, he was eager, and now back to being a cheerful man. "Haha! I can't believe it's lunch! I'm starving!" he said, happily, taking his seat next to Clairence. He couldn't wait till lunch would be served. "Oh, how was your morning? To tell you the truth, I was so bored..." he groaned, running a hand though his hair.

Clairence smiled, hearing the other so cheerful. It somehow made him relaxed. "There are some days like that. The last two activities we have together, though." He told the other, the familiar smile that never seemed to leave his face once again etched on. As lunch was served, Clairence couldn't help but glance at the clock. Old habits died hard. "What are you going to do with the free time you have later in the day?" He asked, looking back at the other and reaching for his fork.

Kaname thought for a while, grabbing his own fork and reaching for his knife, which made his hand accidentally bump into Clairence's. "Sorry..." he whispered, pulling it back and grabbing his knife, cutting his meat. "Um...I really don't know...maybe take a nap, explore, I really don't know...what about you?" he asked, taking a piece of the meat, delicately. He then looked over at Clairence waiting for his reply. He noticed the other look at the clock and was confused. Did he eat lunch at a certain time? Or was he just curious at what time it was?

"I was going to explore a bit. To get used to my surroundings....I don't want to get suddenly lost one day." Clairence said with a chuckle. "I also wanted to get to know you a bit also. Since we're living under the same roof, after all." He said, smiling. "If you would like to, and if I'm not taking up your time, we could get to know each other and explore around the castle later on today...?" He suggested, drinking his glass filled with water, holding it at the perfect angle and letting the water spill into his mouth. He set the glass back down and stabbed a few leaves of his salad.

Blinking, the boy smiled softly and then nodded, his emerald eyes seeming to glitter with happiness. "Of course. That'll be so much more fun then doing things by ourselves, don't you agree?" he asked, happily, smiling as he took another bite. He took his glass, pressing the rim to his lips and set it down, putting his pinky under the glass to cushion it's landing.

Clairence nodded, happy to see the other so joyful. His expressions were so cute. "I heard we have a few things in common....Besides that we're both motherless." He said, strangely smiling still. Was he not sad that his mother had died? Of course not. There was definately some sort of saddness in his voice when he had spoken of the topic. But there was something else, some other emotion mixed in also. Anger, hatred of some sort, however faint it was. As if his mother was killed by someone who he still cursed to this very day. There was only a small bit of the essence of it, but it was still there. As if he couldn't help but let out that small bit. "It was pretty amusing to me when I heard I had some things in common with you....we both have such different backgrounds." He said, the anger seeming to have vanished.

"Yeah, that's actually quite interesting... My mother had died and since I was born, my father and I never did quite see eye to eye... so it's all awkward between us, so I try to avoid him whenever I can..." he admitted, sighing, running a hand through his green hair. He looked down at his food before eating it again, being silent for a while. "But I really didn't care...As long as I was doing my job, I was proud and that's all that matters..." he said, softly. He looked over at Clairence, still eating, but finishing the last of the food. "What about you? What's your past?" he asked, curiosity in his eyes. When he saw the other's smile, it look so great on him... Kaname was always self conssious about his smiles. He thought that his smiles were never any good, so he kind of envied Clairence's smile.
