Kano keeps his attention on the innkeeper for the moment, mildly unimpressed that his question has gone unanswered. The notice can wait.

The innkeeper looks worried for a momoent and then goes back to being his cheerfully annoying self. "Sir the quality of my inn is impecable. I resent the notion that anything here is sub standard. Let me give you some of our finest ale to show that I mean what I say." He reaches back behind the bar and pulls out a tankard. He goes over to one of the barrels and fills the mug with what seems to be ale. "Here it's on the house."

He was trying to read a note, some people have no tact apparently. "That may well be but you are trying to serve me Ale. I specifically asked for mead because it does not make me violently ill. I would be glad to drink your ale but your counter top will be what suffers when I get sick from it." it wasn't even mead you served me.

((ooc: pretty sure the ale was directed to my character wink being as he was just questioning the innkeeper about the quality of the entire establishment. xd It'll be easier to keep track of this once characters have been properly introduced. 3nodding ))
"How generous of you." Kano only pretends to sip the drink, not trusting it nor the innkeeper further than he can throw them. He doesn't throw anything however, merely gets up quietly to check the notice as it proves a distraction now from whatever is in that glass.
Being as the area is unfamiliar to him, the elven warrior directs another question the innkeeper's way. "Where is this Barrow's Edge?"

Alessa read the notice, as curious to know where Barrow's Edge was as well. Moving away from the crowd but still keeping her ears open for the directions.

With most of the attention now being directed at the notice that had been posted, Mahlonn becomes less intent on covering his actions of hastily readying his things for departure. Tilverton was a good distance from Evereska, but he wouldn't put it past some close-minded elder on the council to be a little vindictive, and begin spreading lies to the surrounding provinces. And with another elf present, Mahlonn wasn't about to take any chances.
At the mention of Barrow's Edge, and the query as to it's location, Mahlonn paused. The name Barrow's Edge was unfamiliar to him, though he had passed through more than a village or two without actually learning the place's name. Curiousity held his place, seated at the table crouched over his things. Though it was caution that kept him there, and not wandering near to the small group that was beginning to gather at the posted parchment.

"Barrow's Edge is about two days north west of here."The innkeeper said with a smile. "If you all are planning to go up there I'd be carefull. Things get a mite uncivilized away from big towns."
OCC: I want to know a time that all of you will be able to be on so that we can schedule things like combat so that we aren't waiting on someone to post. A range of time would be good. Don't forget to put what time zone you are all in so that I can figure things out.

((ooc: I tend to be around from about 6pm (sometimes earlier) till who-knows-when in the early morning, EST. This weekend I'm going to a renaissance fair with friends so at least the 20th is going to probably be completely dead as far as my being able to post goes sweatdrop ))
Kano had noted the other elf's behavior but it is of little concern to the warrior. Actions without the reasons behind them are too open to interpretation, and one person is just as trustworthy or untrustworthy as the next when all are strangers. Plus, Kano isn't exactly the analytical type. He's more the hit-things-that-need-to-die type.
In response to what the innkeeper says, Kano addresses the room in general. "It would be better to join forces, not only for travel but no doubt the task mentioned there. I am Kano, warrior, and all who would go with me shall find me an able swordsman." He ventures back to his table, the pack he'd dumped by his sword earlier without even a thought given to it now finding itself being retrieved.

((I can't give you any guarantees whatsoever, I'll try to check at least once a day but I do have a life outside of gaia...granted it's mostly playing co-op or vs. games with buddies but it's a life!))
He tapped his chin for a bit before he glanced at everyone else and nodded his head, "Barrow's Edge...I better get walking." he moved on out of the establishment. Obviously he was in a hurry to find out what it was that was going on.

Alessa slung her cross bow onto her back and walked over with the elf sitting up on the table. "I am also an able fighter and i agree its better to join in a group. My name is Alessa" she said towards Kano pleasntly.

((OOC:@Serp3 = Unfortunately, my spare times are few and far between. I work Mon - Fri [8:00am - 5:00pm], but manage to get on sporadically throughout this time. Then I have night school Wed - Fri [6:00pm - 11:00pm]. On Saturdays I game over at my friend's house [12:00pm - 9:00pm]. So, yeah, full schedule. But that's kind of the point to a PbP isn't it? IRC and IM are for fast paced, and message board is for slower pace. Sure combat will drag a little longer than some are used to, but for those of us who can only get online for 5 - 10 minutes at a time, it's the best we can do. And we cherish every moment.))
Mahlonn glanced down at the money pouch at his side. Over the last few weeks it had become increasingly lighter and thinner. Much as he was in danger of becoming unless he did something to earn some coin. One man had already left, and the other two were making ready themselves. The other elf, who had identified himself as Kano, indeed seemed capable of handling himself in a fight. Of course, this simply made Mahlonn all the more weary of him.
Standing slowly, Mahlonn pulled his hood as low as he could without blocking his vision. Walking in the daylight had become uncomfortable of late, and he was not looking forward to doing so. Around his neck he wrapped a thin and worn scarf, though it harldy looked as if it would keep anything warm. Heaving his laden pack onto one shoulder, and his bow onto the other, Mahlonn made for the door. His movement as swift and silent as the shadows he moved through.

((ooc: I have no problem with slow combat either, and do treasure every bit of this I can get. ^^ ))
"A pleasure," Kano replies to Alessa, his tone warm and easy. He straps the sword and pack to his back again, noticing the others leave singly. "Let's join the less social, shall we?" Even if they are all merely traveling the same direction in a loose, unofficial group, those who are perhaps overconfident will still be safe. It's true they all arrived here in one piece, but there is still uncertainty at the edge of the elf's mind after the strange proceedings with the inkeeper.
Kano follows the others out, holding the door open for the lady.

Alessa jumped off the table walking out the doors with her gear on her back "thank you" she nodded at Kano and smiled. Glancing back to see if anyone else is fallowing her out the doors. Looking up ahead seeing the others walking off and slowly moved out going in the same direction.

You have been walking for about half a day when you hear the unmistake able sownd of steel on steel. As you crest the top of the hill you see an overturned merchant wagon. Goblins are attacking the wagon and the 2 remaining guards. One of the guards recieves a fatal blow from one of the goblins and drops. The other is not looking so good.
