Having been immersed in his 'people-watching', Connor hadn't noticed Eliza until she spoke. His eyebrows shot upward as he spun on his heel in surprised, looking upon Eliza with an equally surprised expression. While he didn't know her exceptionally well, he did know her somewhat. A small smile crept upon his lips as he responded. "Long time no see. How's it been?" A soft, husky tone filled with sincerity was evident in his voice. Her gaze upon him brought his right eyebrow to rise curiously as he slid his hands into his pockets.

Eliza cocked her head and looked away, a far-off look in her eyes. "It has been awhile." She finally agreed. "Although-" She paused once again, scratching a bit under her eye. "I can't remember why." She shrugged and looked up to face him once again. She took note of his eyebrow-raising and mirrored him. "Did I say something weird or something?" She asked, slightly confused.

Connor blinked as his eyebrows rose simultaneously. Shaking his head side to side, he removed his hands from his pockets and proceeded to wave them in front of his chest, as if to shoo away the idea. "No, not at all. I'm just not used to being back again yet." Halting in his hand movements, he brought his right hand to scratch the back of his neck awkwardly. "By the way, it's great to see you again. It's been too long, y'know?"

Kat looked at Eliza and then to Conner, whom she haden't noticed until Eliza pointed him out. "No, I haven't really talked to him since last year. But I..." She noticed Eliza was gone and laughed to herself, thinking about how crazy she must have looked to the other people around her.

Eliza grinned at Conner's antics, letting out a slight chuckle. "It has been awhile." She said once again, then laughed at her repetitiveness and bit her lip. "It is nice." She didn't have much else to say, so she just invited him to sit up with her and Kat. "Come on, Kat Parker is up there, you should come sit with us! I mean, it isn't like we haven't heard this orientation crap a million times. We don't have to pay attention." She rolled her eyes, already dreading having to sit through the headmaster's slow, monotonous voice speaking the rules that now every alumni student knew by heart, having listened to it at the start of every semester since they had first arrived at Centennial.
Without letting Conner have much decision in the act, Eliza took his hand and led him up the bleachers to where Kat had just finished talking to herself. They found some seats and Eliza dropped Conner's hand, her rosy cheeks growing slightly redder, but she covered it up by laughing.
"Look, here they come." She said with sarcastic excitement. Suddenly the gym was quiet, though not completely. Mostly all of the new people were sitting in the front few rows, intently listening as the headmaster and assistant headmaster explained all of the common sense rules that should have been known to every schooled child since their first entrance to Kindergarten. Eliza looked around the top rows, seeing many upperclassmen doing exactly what she had planned, just talking, catching up with friends.

Connor shrugged and opened his mouth to respond with an affirmative 'Sure' but was pulled away first. He was slightly startled by the physical contact, having not really been too close to anyone over the summer. Not physically or emotionally. He had just basically spent time with himself. Sitting down next to Eliza, he instinctively tilted his head to the right in curiousity. Was she just blushing? Regardless, he decided to just brush it off and zone out while the orientation went on.

Reyna turned her head to the front when people around her and her friends had suddenly fallen silent. The headmaster had entered. Reyna was leaned towards her friends, and was about to open her mouth and commented on the solemn atmosphere in the gym, when she noticed a tall thin teacher standing at the end of her row was glaring at her. Reyna closed her mouth, and sat back properly on her chair. She smiled to herself as the headmaster started his welcoming speech, she always liked him, he reminded her of her grandpa at home.

Eliza zoned out so much that she fell asleep. When she awoke she was laying on warm beach sand in sunglasses and a purple bikini. She sat up and hugged her knees, breathing in the sweet summer air. She looked out onto the ocean and stood up, beginning to run toward the waves, seemingly in slow motion. She hadn't been to the beach since the summer, which seemed so long ago now. When she reached the water and her toes were covered in cold ocean, she shivered, then continued until she was up to her waist. She hugged herself and shivered, still trying to get used to the water. All of a sudden, someone on a surfboard was coming quickly toward her on top of a huge wave. Before she had a chance to run back to the beach, she was engulfed in the surf and couldn't breathe. She struggled, then lost her footing, floating underwater. She breathed in a huge gulp of water, then...

Eliza jerked her head up and noticed that everyone was clapping lazily, showing the conclusion of the orientation. The headmasters walked out of the room, and teachers began signaling to all the students that they were dismissed. She stood up and stretched her arms up in the air. Then a realization.
"Did anyone hear when cheerleading practice starts?" She looked around at anyone who would listen.

Connor had ended up daydreaming throughout the speech, having already knew like everyone else who'd already been at Centennial what the orientation consisted of. Once it ended, he was jerked from his reverie by the surrounding claps that filled the room. Though he didn't bother to clap. Why bother? Seeing Eliza stand and stretch, he stood as well and rolled his shoulders back and forth. "I think it's the same time as football practice. I'm not sure though." The motions in his shoulders halted ans he shrugged.

Eliza nodded her head back and forth to a tune in her head. She mirrored Connor's shrug. "I'll ask Stephanie later." Having her dorm advisor as her cheer coach had it's perks. "Every year, I forget that that is the one reason I have to stay awake. I, instead, chose to drift off to La La land somewhere in San Diego on a beach. Whatever. You guys want to go get a smoothie or something at the Walkers'?" She asked both Connor and Kat.

"Hmmmm?" Kat said, having just woken up from a nice nap as well. She drempt about being with her dad, like she usually did. It never made her sad, though, dreaming about him. It made her happy, because she thought that her dreams were hopeful, rather than depressing. "Oh, yea! That sounds nice. Im kind of starving, I might get some food too."

Connor nodded with a shrug. "Sure. Sounds like a nice change from hot tea and water." His lips quirked upward in an amused, if somewhat lazy, smile at the thought. Really all he'd had to drink all summer was, well, tea and water.
[[SO SORRY. D: Hurricane Ike just pummeled us. We've been without power since Saturday and I've been at my dads house. There's power at my house but I currently have no way to get there. So I might not be on again for another few days, even a week. I'm at a Starbucks right now.]]

" Great! Let's swing by my dorm so can grab my purse, and we can go. By the way, my treat!" She beamed. "Oh, is it cool if I invite my roommate? She's a sophomore, but cool." She asked as they began making their way back to the female dorms.

Artemis sat sliently thorugh orientation. Fighting the fact that she wanted to rush back over to the dorm room 2 and finsh packing. The headmaster finished what she had said and while other stayed and chatted she made her way back to the female dorms. She turned the coners and made it to her dorm. She smiled as she pulled her key and opened the door. She reshed over to her things and kept unpacking.

Kat smiled, then looked at her watch. "Umm, alright, cool! But, I have to go to my dorm real quick, I need to give Mousey his meds. He has a cold, and I have to give him a pill every day." She looked down, suddenly feeling bad for her little friend, she hated leaving him alone for so long, but she didn't want him disrupting the orientation by sneezing and coughing. "So, like, five minutes OK? I've got my phone so text me with any changes." Not waiting for a response she jogged off to the dorm. Waving at Stephanie, she hopped up the stairs taking them two at a time. When Kat got to the door of her room she grabbed at her purse and opened it, got out her keys, and opened the door, who she saw brightened her eyes. "Arte!" She screamed at the top of her lungs. She ran over to her and sat next to her. "How has your summer been?" She said, still a little loud from excitemement. Then she remembered why she was there and got up to get her dog's pills. She got out one of her dog's treats and wrapped the pill in it. Then she called Mouse over and fed it to him, who gobbled it up with no complaint. Then Kat walked back over to Arte and sat next to her again.
