Rees was perfectly content with staying put, until that is, a female cervi grabbed his tail as she giggled and settled herself ontop of him. His eyes widened further as she pressed her naked chest onto his back, rubbing it in a way that shouldn't be allowed in public. " Come on, love, " She whispered into his ear. He shivered. " I know how you foxtaurs are. Show me a good time and I'll give you the best night you've ever had. "
The snow leopard foxtaur rose so fast that the female fell off of him with a loud 'omph'. He grabbed his basket and glared at her. " Warm yourself before trying that again. You almost gave me frost bite. " He nodded, making his point with a snort before truding along after Ulric.

Ulric caught the commotion from the corner of his eyes. A scowl on his face as he stomped across the room. He grabbed the kid by the elbow, scooting him behind him, his eyes locked on the hussy. "The only draw back to a free nights stay...horrible company." He turned back to Reese, a smile wide on his face. " I call the good bed."

Rees skidded across the floor, his tail bobbing along between his legs as he bid the over crowded room adeau. He looked up at Ulric with a scowl on his usually stoic face. " The good bed? What in the hell does that mean? "
What kind of establishment didn't havet two decent beds? What if the other one was crawling with roaches or invested with rats, or worse, hair? The foxtaur wasn't going to be happy if he had to sleep on a bed with someone elses fur going up his nose when he slept. " I'm starting to think that a night outdoors is better than spending one inside."

Ulric chuckled deep in his throat. "Relax kid. The beds are clean and comfortable. I just find that the bed next to the window is the best. Though, the legs are a little wobbly on one. But dont ruffle your fur; I know Brut and he wouldn't keep a filthy bed for long." He opened the door to their room, a beam of moonlight hitting the floor as a candle flickered in the corner. The smell of hot wax and oak filled the air, Ulric walking to the 'good bed', throwing his pack down. A puff of dust filled the air. "I see he hasn't let anyone in my room since I left." He smiled from ear to ear.

Rees rose up and dusted off his fur, coughing a bit when the dust clouds got caught up in his sinuses. Brushing back the hair away from his face, he scooped up his basket and headed over to his bed. True to Ulric's word, the bed didn't seem to look any worse for ware, though still unusual to him. Rees didn't normally sleep in a bed or indoors, for that matter.
" Is there any place near where I can get a good bath? " He grabbed the centaur hair brush from his basket and held it up, tilting his head to the side. Not that he was particularly dirty; he just liked to relax and cat nap in warm water.

"Why do you think I got this room." Ulric had a smile that never seemed to fade yet somehow continued to grow. "We have our own bath; a perk of knowing the owner personally." He thrust his thumb towards the wall. "Right through there, and dont take too long. This 'old man' needs a good scrub."

Rees felt...awkward, to say the least around Ulric at the moment. It seemed like no matter how many times the man was knocked down, he always had a back up plan and a smile to go with it. Admirable, but creepy. " Got it. "
He scuttled out of the room as fast as he could and not seem suspicious. When he opened up the bathroom door, the steam almost caused him to pass out. " Someone was prepared, " he murmured, shutting the door quietly behind him. Spying a brush, Rees dove for it and started to untangle the wads of dirt and rainwater. Soon enough, though, he was submerged in the steamy water and well on his way to a peaceful nap.

Ulric nodded as Rees walked into the other room. Once the door was closed, he threw himself down onto his bed, the dust riseing in clouds around him. Ulric covered his face with his hands, breathing slowly in and out, his eyes warm under the lids. He turned on his side, hiding his face in his arm. "Damn.."

It seemed like only a short while but he knew he'd been asleep for a long time when he rose up from the water, rubbing his eyes with pruned hands. Looking himself over, he noticed that he looked like a dried up piece of fruit in a bucket of ice water. Shivering, Rees quickly ducked under to rinse off before hopping out. One good shake puffed out his foxy fur but his skin took a while longer to dry.
One towel. Obviously, Ulric didn't have very many visitors or the others were stashed. Persing his lips together, he contemplated being nice but damn it, his hair was longer.
" Sorry for the wait. " He sauntered back into the room with a towel turban on his head, hands gently massaging it dry.

Ulric rose from the bed, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. "No problem." He noted the towel on Rees's head. "So you found the towels in the closet? I wouldnt use the towel that they hang out. You wouldnt believe the stories about them." Ulric started laughing as he walked into the bathroom, his laughter doubling when he found the hanging towel gone. "So I guess you'll be needing the bathroom again once I am done." He snickered as he heated some water for his bath.

Rees' pout was immediate and strong. He couldn't stand the thought of something that...that disgusting touching his hair. Ripping the offending material off his head, he angled himself at the right position to toss it straight at Ulric's head. " You could have warned me! " He stomped his paw on the ground.
Staying indoors was definately not a bonus. Spending the night in the pouring rain with bugs crawling ontop of him was better than having to stay in a dust infested, dirty towel room with some sarcastic pup. Rees chewed on the inside of his mouth as he stood there for a few minutes, finally giving up and walked towards the window to cool off. The rain made a melodic sound as it tapped against the glass, aiding him immensely.

Ulric laughed as he dodge the towel, slamming the door behind him. He scrubbed himself down, pulling dirt clots and bugs from his fur. "Ahh, that's better." Ulric toweled himself town, plopping down on the bed. "So where are we going in the morning?" He looked over at Rees. "If we are going to be a traveling group we need a set plan to get where we are going. I was thinking about heading up towards the beaches. Prime location and I am sure there will be someone looking for my specific skills." Urlic started staring into the distance. "You know I forgot why I have been traveling for so long. Stupid really." He pulled out the bottle he had been hiding for a while, the liquid line down towards the bottom of the very tall bottle. "I moved from the island when I was younger; my mother hated to stay in one place very long, must be where I got it from. She left again shortly after, only this time leaving me behind. I started looking for her at one time, but I quit. I started looking for someone else." Ulric broke out in drunken laughter. "Kinda stupid wasteing your whole life looking for something and not getting to see the world right? I kinda gave up a while back, just been traveling since. At least it wont be so lonely anymore." His head rolled to its side, a deep snore filling the silence his babbling had made.

Rees leaned up against the window pane while Ulric prattled on, not to concerned about anything being said or what the other foxtaur was doing. He was about to drift off himself when he picked up on the smell of alcohol and looked pointedly at his roommate. Great, he drinks. Grumbling, Rees slowly stood up, using one hand to brace his lower back as he yawned and shuffled back into the bathing area, mumbling about preferring to be travelling alone.
It didn't take him as long this time to wash the funk out of his hair and soon enough, he was back at the window, watching over his sleeping partner with his skin pressed against the cool glass. He wasn't even sure he'd stick with Ulric for the entire journey but he knew he needed out of here. The scenary was becoming too familiar, too softening - it was definately time to move on. " I hope you find what your looking for, " He whispered, crossing his arms above his pale chest, stiffling a yawn. His fluffy tail curled up around him as he settled into sleep next to the outside world. " You stupid drunk. "

Ulric smiled. I will find what I am looking for...And I'm not a stupid drunk.. He turned in his half-sleep.
Ulric awoke early in the morn, the sun still hiding in the distance. He splashed his face in cold water, wakeing himself further. Ulric walked towards his still sleeping companion. "Why do you seem so familiar? Who are you...." He sat back on his bed, studying Rees's face. "Well, its better than being alone."

Rees slept like the dead. He neither stirred, nor made a noise. His entire body was curled up against the window pane, closed off from the world and his awakened roommate. Every once in a while, he would dream and last night, he'd have one helluva dream.
Walking down a forest path away from the beach, his tiny hand clasped with an elder males, his father's, while looking back. He was scared, terrified even but that didn't make sense. It was too peaceful for those kinds of feelings. The reason became apparent, though, when the flesh on his father's hand started to melt away and he tasted blood on his tongue.
The foxtaur awoke with a start, but quickly settled down when he noticed his familiar settings. Early morning sunshine nearly blinded him for a moment as it peeked over the horizon and he realized with dismay that he'd woken up late and now if he wanted to ditch Ulric, he'd have to actually talk to the other man.
Grumbling, Rees raised his arms over his head and yawned.
