Vasryna narrowed her eyes, stiffening as she watched the wizard. She caught the thing flying at her, throwing it down to the ground hard as she finally saw was Taliesin's intent had been. A low growl ripped from the throat of the female Drow as she watched him. She still wasn't exactly sure what he was doing, but she didn't like it at all.
"And what do you think you're doing, fool?" She didn't like that staff pointed at her; not at all. "You have death on your doorstep doing such a thing."

Taliesin smiled jovially as he idly brushed some dust off his knees, never taking his eyes from Vasryna and never lowering the staff. At this moment Tal considered himself to hold teh advantage, had Vasryna struck before now Tal wouldn't have stood a chance. During teh conversation, ever since Tal realised he was facing an assassin, he had been slowly backing away putting distance between them, the more he had the more time he had to react and now he had his staff in hand. Tal didn't doubt Vasrynas ability to kill in the least, but an assassin wasn't a brawler or warrior, they preyed in teh dark and banked on the element of surprise, Vasryna no longer had that advantage.
Tell me my dear, in a straight out fight do you really think you could win? You're dagger needs to hit a small moving target to kill. I can just set half the street on fire, so long as you're in the general proximity to the center of the inferno. and I could probably get off a fireball in the time it takes for you to draw back your arm. You could be ash before the dagger left your palm. so I wonder, is death smiling on me today or you?"
Tal knew that he was playing a very, very dangerous game right now, but quite frankly teh pulse of adrenaline sending a buzz through his system made it all worthwhile. And even if he was potentially looking death in the face, he was still in a better mood than he had all day.

Vas'ryna snarled, her anger evident on her face. "You seem much too confident." She narrowed her eyes, yet lowered her weapon. She couldn't win this time, even though defeat tasted like poison on her tongue. She could only find this wizard somewhere in the dark of the caves and kill him. Perhaps in a year, perhaps tomorrow.
"Go on. Set me on fire. You will gain nothing." She bared her teeth in a smirk before turning her back on the wizard to begin casually sauntering away.

Tal spent a moment toying with the idea that one thing he'd gain is a reputation for being someone you stayed clear of, but Tal would rather avoid drawing undue attention to himself. In truth she wasn't worth the bother and had only been blustering in an effort to make sure she didn't kill him. As she walked away Tal wondered if she was only biding her time, until she could find a time and place where she held the advantage.
If he killed her now he'd be saving himself a potential problem in the future. Eventually deciding the attention and hassle her death would bring outweighed the slight risk she might pose a threat in the future, Tal let her go. Though he didn't lower his guard until he was satisfied she was far enough that she couldn't throw her dagger at him.
With a huff, Tal turned and waved his staff around at the strewn items, causing them to gather up into neat piles. Bowing over he gathered them up and set off back to his home, rather annoyed with the world in general and itching to kill or maim something...
