"Oh... hi..." he sighed in relief as he slid into a chair. He was so tired... Bri had been right. He smiled and leaned with his elbows on the counter. "How you doing Dante?"

- - -

"Hello Anatu," the angel smiled. He was not startled when the other sat down, as if he had expected it. Maybe he did... "How are you doing today? Keeping busy?"

Dante's ears went back a little, "By the sounds of it... better than you have been. Are you okay?" He'd been a bit nauseous this morning, but he didn't actually throw up, which was a relief.

----

The tiger purred lightly as he leaned on the table lightly and glanced around. "Well, sort of. It's been pretty slow today, surprisingly." Looking back at Kas, he canted his head, "Aren't... you in school? Shouldn't you be there?"

Chance smiled faintly. "Yeah, I'm just tired. I was in the bathroom all morning. They say it's normal," he added with a shrug, feeling the need to do so even though he knew Dante wouldn't see it. "So... I haven't heard from you in a while. I suppose I should have called you sooner... What's going on?"

- - -

Kaspar leaned closer too and lowered his voice conspiratorially. "Well, I'm done for the day. I'm only taking four classes, and it's lunch time at the school anyway." He grinned, leaning back again, "So I came to my favorite place to eat lunch."

Dante frowned, tail flicking lightly. "Im sorry to hear that." The wolf seemed to be lucking out. "No, it's okay. I should have called. I... curious if we could meet up. I was thinking possibly somewhere to eat, but that doesnt seem like such a great idea, huh? I've been thinking, and... I think we should talk more about what we need to do and what should happen since there're kids involved." Not there weren't when they first figured it out, but now it was more real as he continued to dwell on the facts.

-----

Anatu watched, ears perked as Kas leaned forward, tempted ever so slightly, to lean forward just a bit more to close the space between them; he resisted though. "You're only taking four classes?" He blinked and sat up a bit himself, purring happily, glad that this was his favorite place. It made him squirm a little in his seat as he grinned, "I should get you your lunch then ~ so you won't starve." He stuck out his tongue playfully.

"No... we should go somewhere. Um... maybe sushi or a salad bar or something. Smells... bother me sometimes." Oh. He glanced up at the coffee pot, actually smelling that and smiling lopsidedly. It wasn't bothering him. "Or a coffee place. Heh, I don't think we've ever been to a place like that..." Or talked, like normal people, about inconsequential things... What a foundation we've set up here. "Yeah, I thought I'd give you space. Let you decide what you want to do. But... I've been wanting to talk to you. I think we need to..."

- - -

To his question, Kaspar nodded. "That's all I need to graduate. It leaves me time for my job and a little free time..." he trailed off and smiled a little; that's all he was going to say on the matter. "I don't know how long I'll last... please hurry..." the angel laughed, in response to the other's quip.

Dante knew that feeling. Some cravings had kicked in at odd times too. Tail flicking he gave a nod, then realized Chance couldnt see that. "Yeah... A coffee place would be good. Do you know a place?" Those were the type of places people went to anyways, wasn't it? His tail waved, "I think I have some ideas so... I think we need to, too."

-----

Anatu snickered and stood back up. "Oh, all right." He purred tail waving, "It's chicken noodle today. Sound good?"

"Well... no." Chance hung his head a little. The only place he knew of was Anatu's, mainly because he rarely went out for coffee. He wasn't sure he wanted to go there for this kind of talk though. It would be awkward. "Unless you count Anatu's place." Might as well put it out there. "Can you think of a place?" He paused. "Ideas?"

- - -

"Chicken soup sounds wonderful. It was actually brisk this morning. Sign of the changing season..." He watched the other stand with a fond smile.

Dante's thought a moment. "Not... Anatu's. That would be weird...There's a shop I think sort of between your place and mine. Ive never been there, so I dont know if it's any good, but we can see."

------

Anatu's ears perked and glanced out the window fondly, "Mhmm ~ It's going to start getting cold." He looked back at Kas, "Make sure to bundle up so you don't get sick." Tail flicking behind him, his ears perked again hearing his name called by a regular. Looking over his shoulder he gave an acknowledging wave before looking back to the angel.

Leaning over and down he placed a light kiss to the others lips, purring lightly. Only moving back a couple inches he smiled, a small blush on his cheeks. "I'm glad you came here for lunch... Ill be back in a minute." At that he stepped back and away to go see what the other had wanted, then headed to the back where he would get the food.

"I agree." Chance thought about it for a moment. "I think I know that place. When do you want to meet? Right away, or later tonight maybe?" He did not have a preference, as long as the place had a bathroom.

- - -

Kaspar grinned. "Oh don't worry about me. My wings keep me plenty warm... though I do like to bundle up anyway." He loved sweaters and scarves, though the former he had to get fitted specially for someone with wings.

He looked up when someone he did not know called to Anatu. He had probably seen them before... he just liked to keep to himself. He was surprised then, when Anatu turned his attention back to him; he'd really expected the tiger to leave. When he didn't, the angel was further surprised by the kiss. But not so much that he didn't return it. He really didn't want Anatu to go... but he had a shop to run, so he made no move to keep him there.

Tail waving, he thought a moment, "Well, I'm open all day... " And he hadn't been the one sick, though meeting sooner would mean less anxious waiting, "How about in an hour...?"

-----

It didn't take Anatu long. He made sure to stop at the other customers' table first just so that he would be able to join Kas again. He purred happily, though got stuck at the other persons table as they tried to make small talk with him. He smiled and nodded setting down the bill they had requested.

His ears perked as they asked about Kas, all three of them glancing over to where the angel sat. Clearing his throat he blushed lightly and rolled his eyes; they were teasing him. Taking the money with him he chuckled, and said he'd see them tomorrow. With that he headed to Kaspar's table, his cheeks a bit pink still.

Setting down the soup he sat down the soda he'd brought over too. "Thought you'd like something to drink."

An hour would give him time to drink some of this coffee... maybe walk down if he didn't dawdle, or if Bri didn't keep him up with annoying questions. "An hour sounds great," he said with a smile. "I'll see you then."

- - -

Kaspar was looking out the window when Anatu returned. He had started out thinking about his homework, going over assignments in his head, an inventory of sorts of what he had left to do before tomorrow. But his thoughts strayed... to his father's situation and inevitably (embarrassingly) to Anatu. He had been returning to this shop, where he had first met him, for a long time now. Perhaps it was not all that long... only months... but it felt like so much longer (and shorter) at the same time. It was confusing and exhilarating, and thanks to Anatu (and yes, even Chance) he had seen that there was far more to life than school.

In the midst of this, he decided that he really just needed to talk with Anatu about... them. He needed to say what could not be expressed even in their own heavy glances... he just was not sure how to say it. What made things worse was... he really did not know... well... much of anything!

Anatu brought his lunch over and he looked at his hands for a moment. He had been oblivious to the teasing and to Anatu's blushing cheeks. But when he looked up and noticed, he wondered if he was the cause... "Thanks. Um... Anatu... We need to talk... but you're busy, so later..." He frowned at all the stammering and stopped. Then he looked up at Anatu again. "It's important. So when you have time, I'd like to talk."

Dante smiled lightly, "Okay. An hour it is. Ill meet you there."

-----

Anatu's ears perked as he glanced at Kas, his hand lingering absently on the glass of soda. Looking around the shop he spotted just a couple more people left before it would be empty, and they had come in before Kas so they'd be leaving soon.

Looking back at Kas, he gave a small smile. "Twenty-minutes... Think it can wait that long?" If it were up to him, he'd just drop everything and sit down with the angel. Since it was slow, it wasn't that big of a problem if he put up the closed sign for an hour or so.

"All right. Bye for now." Chance had barely closed the phone and had not yet risen from his seat to get a cup of coffee when Bri tumbled into the room.

"Oh good," he sang lightly, "you're off the phone. Now I can have my coffee..." He flounced off in that direction with a grin. With a wave of his hand he added, "I'll pour you a cup too, while I'm there..."

Chance snorted. Bri wasn't fooling anyone. Of course he wanted to know what was up. He was just that nosy... that enthusiastic... He rose to his feet. "I'm going to take a shower."

"Aww, no coffee?" The cat visibly drooped. He really wanted to know...

He was almost out of the room when the unicorn paused, peeking around the corner at the cat. "When I get back, I'll tell you about it. And yes, I still want my coffee!"

Bri gleefully waited through two cups of coffee before Chance returned again. He poured them both a cup and wandered over to sit down. "So...?" He was practically wiggling.

Chance snickered into his cup. Ahh... who'd have thought coffee would taste so good. He should probably eat while he was at the coffee shop with Dante. "So... I have about a half hour to get to that coffee shop down the street to meet with Dante. We're going to talk."

"Ooh," the cat cooed. He sipped at his coffee, enjoying every drop, for a couple of minutes. His tail tapped against his ankle. "Well... you'd better get over there soon."

"I know..." Trouble was, Chance was starting to feel queasy again. His normally pink skin, which easily showed through his fine fur, had paled again. "This sucks."

Bri frowned and was about to snap at him when he looked up to see the other's face. "Not again..."

"I think... I'll be all right," he sighed. He waited. The smell of the coffee was not making it worse, thankfully. The steam soothed him. "Okay." Wearily, he managed to finish his cup and set it aside.

"Want me to drive you there?" the cat asked worriedly. "I promise I won't bother you. You can call me for a ride home."

"I'm tempted."

Bri rose to his feet. "Fiiine... I'll take you," he smiled and rose to his feet, giving the unicorn's shoulder a squeeze and carrying their cups to the sink.

"Thanks..."

- - -

"Well..." he cleared his throat. Now that he had said something, he was almost reluctant to actually go through with it. Funny thing. "I don't want to hold things up. It can wait... wait until this weekend or something, even. No rush..." Except that it felt as if he should hurry, even though it was not imperative that he do so...

Dante had taken some of the hour to get clean and have a light snack, even if he wasn't completely hungry. He wasn't quite queasy, but he wasn't feeling absolutely fantastic either. He gave himself about a half an hour to get to the coffee shop, and when he got there, he'd picked a two person table against a window, in the back (the bathrooms not to far away) after getting a hot chocolate, not feeling like coffee.

Quietly he stared at the cup, tail swishing lightly behind him. He was feeling rather patient...

-----

Anatu's tail flicked, "It's okay. It's been really slow. I just need to clean up a bit." He gave a small smile, "Eat your soup. When you're done, we can talk." He wasn't sure what Kas needed to talk about, but... it was important... Now he'd end up thinking about it until they actually do talk about it.

When Bri drove up with Chance, they were early. By the time the unicorn pried the worried cat away from him, he was late. It figured. He opened the door with a sigh just as the calico drove off. Standing a couple steps inside the door, he looked around until he found Dante. His faint smile warmed progressively as he approached the table. "Hey," he said quietly, sliding into his seat.

- - -

The angel smiled, feeling a little sheepish. "All right. Don't rush..." He hated to rush Anatu. He wouldn't say it aloud normally, but he liked to watch anyway...
