Awnaety slightly growled as she tried to look up at her hair without the mirrored water. "Cant you fly?" she asked looking around for a pine tree to comb her hair with. Although that those may hurt when you touched the spikes at wrong angle, she didnt like her hair messy. No pine trees were near them, however she was not planning at all to leave the circle of light. Awkwardly standing there trying to think of something with her odd looking hair. "I wish I had wings and horns. Then I can escape from things a little faster or scare them off with my horn......however that doesnt always work now does it." Still focussing on her flower. She tried with the tree once more, rubbing against it. Sighed as she walked back and looked in the water, knowing the results already. "I wish this flower would fix itself," the mare growled, with her hair looking like a fool.

A crow flew over the empty spot of trees and make its call for its friends. This gave a slight shiver down her spine. However she was not as freaked now she knew she was with someone rather safe, or as it seems so far. As well the moon started to set and the sky started to light. She sighed and watched the stars fade. Stars, they were the other light in the night. However, they barely give off light, looks more like fireflies high above. "Stars, I use to believe those were angels....sent from above to protect us from the dark and all. The shine would be their halos," smiling. "Grew out of that theory course. Stars are stars." Oh how she wish that anegls were real. That they could be sent down to protect them. She needed an angel.

He gave her a look as if to remind her that he was flying when they first met. "I can indeed fly...that does not mean I can reach the heights where clouds reside." He gave her an odd look as she seemed to be looking for something, what he didn't know. "You won't always be able to escape and no a horn does not always frighten off an enemy..."His voice trailed off as she proceeded to make her way to the tree again. What could she possibly be doing?

He got his answer quickly after. "A flower? That's what the trouble is?" It made slightly better sense now. He did not know why she cared so much about it though it seemed that it would be one of those things he wouldn't understand though. "Would you like some assistance with it?"

His ears shot straight up at the birds voice and he looked up to the sky. It was unusual for them to be out so late. He blinked at the lightening sky and then realized it was actually heading in to the morning hours. He had not realized. How strange, he was normally so aware of the passing of time.

"You have a very intriguing mind..." He said watching as the stars faded. He could not remember a time when he thought such things but it was a nice thought albeit a bit childish.

"At least you can fly some distance and height," she nodded as she continued to stare up at her flower. Deep in thought about what she should do. Then her thinking interupted by the voice of the flutter. "Assistance.....uh sure." She replied not quite sure what he meant assistance. Amatsila could smell the early and fresh feeling coming, the smell of pine flowing around them. She smiled up at the sky as she liked to do often. "My imagination can run wild," she laughed. Watching the crows take off from their trees and into the lighting up sky. It was beautiful, you could almost see the rays of the sun rising with the star. Her eyes closed and she let the wind whistle in her erected ears and around her body. It was a beautiful feeling, "I feel like I'm.....flying." The mare let her eyes stay closed and her twitching ears told her what happend outside of her eyelids. She could hear the trees creak and sway, morning came with the sounds of soquilis racing far off. Then some sounds of two-leggers speaking their language while walking. She was especially good with her hearing. "Oooh, the morning suuun rises up. Annnd now here I am waiting for everyone to wake up. As bright as I can shiiine for those asleep, to say that today, a wonderful day, awaits them all." Opening her eyelids, she kind of blushed. "I was kind of off beat and tone...my words dont really rhyme, but at least I have some music."

Amatsila did not know if he cared about her singing or not, however it was nice to share some of her traits with him. As he has with her, however the stallion hasnt been extreamly open. Amatsila tries not to be as well, since she doesnt know him very well, however sharing just one thing about her wouldnt hurt. She cant see him using music against her as a threat. The mare shivered slightly, thinking what if he betrayed her and grew fangs and.....it was best not to think of that.

"That is true."He said with a nod of his head. He could fly to some height for a short distance but he did not find it to be especially amazing. He did not say anything of the sort though. There was no point in telling her that flight was not as wonderful when you did it every day. Perhaps one day she would meet one who could take her into the skies on large wings and she would know how it felt. This was not that day, however it was the day that she would get her flower fixed.

He took a few steps closer to get a better look at how this flower was positioned in relation to the others. He smiled as she started to sing she had a nice voice for singing. While the sound was not perfect it also did not sound anywhere near the drunken slurs and harsh tones he had heard from others. As her song finished he didn't say anything but leaned forward and pulled out the misplaced flower. He pulled away and looked at her mane for a moment longer before replacing it in a place that looked nicer.

"There, though I am afraid I can do nothing about your mane." He said studying the flowers to make sure he got the positioning right. He would never admit it to anyone but he truly loved flowers, perhaps it was in his blood. No matter the reason he always enjoyed being near flowers, even more so he liked making sure they were well in place.

As he stepped closer, she blushed. Still clueless to what he was doing until he reached for her flower and adjusted. Different from its regular spot, but looked better from where he put it. "Thank you." She smiled at him and looked into the waters to check it. Her mane was messed a little, but its was alright, she'll soon find some way to fix it. The flower partially covered the mess in her hair anyways. Spotting the bloomed plant in her head, she remembered that her name had meant 'Spring Flower' in the two-leggers language. Or as someone had told her which she forgot who did. Amatsila opened her mouth to fill the flutter with this fact, however she hut it. Guessing that he probably had no interest in her name or the fact. The mare recovered the action with a sweet smile. She started humming a toon, one sweet like honey. It was her favourite. once played by a bird. At the end, sighing, the sun had started to rise a bit. The sky had its beautiful glow, looked as if sunset, exception was that sunset had the more orangey colors rather than light blue appearing over dark. Purple was blended somewhere along the lines of the sky. Her heart felt excitement as she watch a new day begin. Grass and trees swaying to the morning breeze, cool and soft. Teepee lights were starting to fade off and the two-leggers exited their humble homes. She smiled as she watch the land come to life from inbetween the forest trees. So safe the trees sometimes felt, then sometimes they felt haunting.

"It is so magical..." she whispered, more to herself than to him. Not minding if he did hear, however. Her child like mind was easily fascinated by the simplest thing. Although not many take the time to enjoy their world, the nature, things around them and most importantly, the beauty of their enviroment. Amatsila kept her smile and watched the day begin.

He raised a brow as her mouth opened and shut again. He had thought she had only been doing that because she had been frightened of him. It occurred to him that maybe she still was afraid to him. He was still a stranger after all. He paused for a moment and thought back on all that had been said during the night. He could not recall them being introduced. In every sense of the word he was a stranger, he was a different species, they had never encountered each other previously and she did not even know his name. Come to think of it he didn't really know her name either.

As she started to hum he gazed up at the sky at it's lightening and changing colors. Soft beautiful pinks, oranges and purples lit the area as the blended in with the blue that was already present. "It is." He replied softly just watching the colors. He couldn't help but agree with her. It was magical. Of all the things he knew he did not understand what caused the sky to change it's colors in the early morning and late evening. All he knew was it had something to do with the sun's position.

He continued to watch as the colors deepened for a while before turning to look at his companion. "Your name..." He said almost as though he would know by looking at her. Giving up on that he continued, "What is it?"

As if on cue, the flutter had just asked her for her name. This was new, in every other conversation normally she just speaks with the the other and then they head their seperate ways. "Amatsila.." she spoke softly to let the morning peace stay. Perhaps, it wouldn't hurt to include the fact of her name either. "It also means 'Spring Flower'" she smiled at him. Giving him a few minutes to soak it in. There were times where family members forgot about her because of how silent she is, however she did not want the flutter to forget her. She hated to be forgotten. Not forgotten but left alone. She seeked company, but hated attention. If that had made any sense to the world. "May I know yours?" came her soft voice again. Not once did the breeze slow down. Her gaze did not return to the sky, she kept it on him. Waiting patiently for a reply. Her ears were still on the move. Listening to the two-legger talk and laugh. If only she could understand them, two-leggers was one of the things she wasnt so afraid of. The woods looked rather bright now, as the sun seem to quicken its pace, or rather time was really flying by for them.

The mare had a million thoughts in her head, thinking about how everything had gone. So far she hasnt been eaten, which was good. She was not hurt, which was good. It was already daylight, so if he truly did want to eat her, he would've done it at night. Her trust began to open up to this stallion. Perhaps he wasnt the monster trying to hunt her down at night. She can not be sure, maybe all this two-leggers were illusions and he is waiting for her to be off guard. Amatsila blinked a few times and looked closely at him. No, she cant let those crazy thoughts hit her again. She saw the night fade and how the morning arrived. This was reality. However, time did fly so fast.

Amatsila. 'Spring flower'. He did not know about the spring part having just met her but he could certainly see where she got the flower bit from. "I will remember it, Amatsila." He said with a bow of his head. He meant what he said too. Once he linked a name to a face he seldom forgot who that person was. It was one of the benefits of observing so much, a superb memory.

"My name is Spinel Sun. I kindly ask that if you shorten it that you refer to me as 'Spinel'." He realized saying something like this was bound to seem a bit strange but having the unfortunate nickname of 'Suppi' sitting on any one's shoulders would make them act in quite the same way. "I was named for the jewels I wear." He said finding it only appropriate that if she were to share her name's meaning that he should share his own.

After that he fell silent listening to the world around. It all seemed so close and yet so distant where they were. His rather feline-like eyes locked on to the mare and he just watched her. She looked somewhat different in the light of day. Less like a glowing spirit and more like the intricately patterned mare she was. He wondered if many mare's coats acted in such a way or if it was just hers.

"The jewels on you?" she looked all over him for jewels, "...You mean those pebbles that glow in the dark?" Amatsila hoped that she did not offend him by calling them 'pebbles' however they did look like peblbes rather than jewels. She always saw jewels as a rock with many flat sourfaces and pointy angles. The mare stepped closer to him and stared at them closely. "They are pretty," pretty was one of the jewels features. Eye-catching. "Spinel, its very unique. I've never heard of such a name....then again doesnt everybody have unique names on these lands." Finding herself babbling perhaps a little more than what the flutter may have liked, she shut her mouth and went quiet. Staring into the water once again. Letting a few curly bangs fall before her eyes. She could feel something was watching her, staring at her. It made her shiver and a chill ran down her back. Lifting her head to tell the flutter than she felt someone watching, she saw he was watching it. Amatsila stared back blankly waiting for him to speak. Not quite sure why he was staring at her...was the mess in her hair that entertaining?

Tilting her head to one side, she continued to watch him. A few times glancing at his jewels and able to see a tiny reflection of the world in them. Like eyes almost, they saw the world. A soquili with many eyes, that would be creepy. Sighing but she did not take her gaze off of him.

He sighed and nodded. Must she call them pebbles? It made them sound so dull. Pebbles were things found on the bottoms of rivers not anything special. Jewels were rare and contained powers in some way. He was not sure what powers his held it was possible they were simply decoration but it did not truly matter.

"Thank you." He said with a curt bow of his head. He did not really view things as beautiful or pretty often, more as interesting or unusual, but he knew a compliment when it was given. "Your name is rather unique as well. It has the same sound as the two-leggers speech but I've never heard it before." Again this was a compliment to him though very few ever caught these rather curious sounding ones. He supposed he could use some work on giving them but he saw no point in learning just to act like every other fool of a stallion. He saw no point in it.

"No...it's not just your name..." He continued tilting his head to the side his gaze still settled firmly on her. "You, yourself, are rather unique and curious...there are many things about you that make me wonder..." His voice trailed off and he finally looked away from her to gaze, instead, at the water. The reflective surface served as a way to help focus himself to better understand things or help to remember them.

He had finally spoken. "Like what?" she was curious on what about her made him curious. She still kept her gaze on him and waited patiently once more for an answer. The sun was well in the sky, You can see it and the purple parts now turned into many shades of beautiful blue. Her throat felt a bit dry, so she given up on waiting for an answer and took a sip from the pond. She could feel the water slide down her throat. Amatsila lifted her head and returned her gaze back to him, so maybe she hasnt given up on his answer. A water droplet was kind of danglish from her chin, but it would look rather odd if she tried to lick it. What else was interesting about her? She found herself rather plain and boring compared to other mares. Other mares looked vibrant and had the greatest personality ever. As she had nothing like that, in her opinion. Shyness comes with the side effect of low confidence in Amatsila's world.

She checked him out. He had many interesting things about himself, does he feel the same way as she does with herself? Then again, most likely not. Spinel looked rather satisfied with who he is. If only she could be happy for who she is. There were those who she envied and then those she feared. Thats how she categorized the soquilis she met. Spinel was in the 'envied' category. He looked so relaxed and seemed to mature.

Like that was his initial thought. No one every asked him what he found curious the just tended to get worried over why he was watching them and clam up or leave. "Your coat for one thing..." He said nodding his head. "It seems to glow in the moonlight. Then you yourself. The way you behave, trying to fix a flower using the side of a tree, worrying over a squirrel, thinking a flutter is a monster of sorts." He gave her a sort of smirk at that point wondering if she had forgotten that.

"Also...you seem very quiet compared to the others I have encountered. I wonder why that is and it makes me curious." He nodded one more time before staring at her. He hadn't noticed before but there seemed to be a water droplet clinging to her coat from when she had gotten a drink. He wondered if she realized it was there.

"And now you have a bit of the sky dangling from your face." He said chuckling softly. From where he was standing the water was reflecting all the colors of the sunrise as well as the colors from her own coat. It was something he had not seen before, at least not in this way.

She thought about all the things he had mentioned that was 'interesting' to him. Amatsila blushed at the flutter comment. She had nto mean to, but you can never be so sure that he is safe. "Well, I'm much quieter than others because...." she ran through her head with reasons why, "...I just am not open like others?" This was more of a question than an answer. She really couldn't hit the point why she was always so shy while others were so free and open to the world. It was just the way things were. Another pinkness appeared over her face. "Sky?" she looked up and wondered how can sky be dangling from her? Amatsila looked at him with a brow raised. Wondering if he was just messing with her. She flicked her head left and right waiting for maybe something that did make sense show up. Nothing did, however she could feel the droplet release from her chin and land on her hoove. Glancing down at it, it gave off a shiny touch to her hoove. Then, what he said made sense. In it she could see the reflection of the sky. Less colorful but you can make out the clouds and all. "Well, the sky just fell from my chin," adding quietly after the droplet slowly gathered itself and slid off her foot.

"I'm really that interesting?" her hopes raised up a bit, maybe she wasnt as boring as she thought afterall. Was he saying all thise to expect a compliment back? If so then what a self absorbed stallion. Amatsila erased that thought. He has been kidn to all along the way and all through the night. Spinel was serious but also had this other side that interested her. He seem to really like...judging things. Not in a bad way, no. What was the word? She did not know, but it made her happy to know that he wasnt the one to say she was too quiet and that she is worthless. Or did he think that? Opposite opinions shot back and forth in her head. She wasnt sure if he was the nice kind or was he the rude but silent kind. Spinel didnt seem to want to eat that was for sure. She could not figure him out exactly, simply because he does not seem to explain or let his emotions show. That was what Amatsila found interesting about him.
PostPosted: Mon Sep 01, 2008 7:57 am

He quirked a brow at her response. It was pretty obvious she wasn't like others but that was a good thing. To be like everyone else meant there was little interesting about yourself and he was not interested in studying boring creatures.

As she reacted to his comment it became even more evident that she was not an ordinary creature. He watched as the droplet realised and fell from her. It tumbled downward almost in slow motion before the colors of the sky crashed onto her hoof. "And has made a temporary home on your foot..." He said amused watching as the water began to run down to the earth to be taken in.

"You answered that question for me." He said still seeming completely fascinated with the water. In truth he was just having a difficult time holding this larger size. They had been out all night with no sleep and no food and while he did not want to admit it things like that were a recipe to weaken him. He refocused himself and pulled energy from his reserves before lifting his head seeming perfectly fine. "Perhaps not in the exact words but you said you were not like others." He gave a simple nod of his head leaving her to put the pieces of his answer together. She seemed intelligent, surely she was capable of such a simple task.

He shuddered lightly and did his best to disguise the motion with a beat of his wings. It seemed that his energy reserves were not as full as he had thought.

Amatsila thought about it, and simply answered "But..everyone is special and unique in their own way..." She watched him flutter his wings. Looks a bit uncomfortable but his face showed no emotion really. Perhaps she was making him feel uncomfortable. Then again, maybe he was just stretching. Tilting her head to the side at him. Not sure wether to ask or what, but she hoped her worried expression hint off the clue. She wondered, why does he choose not to show emotions....is it how he likes it? Who wouldn't like to show emotion, wouldnt it be a tad boring if life had no emotions. Then again if you're the soquili with no emotions, it felt normal to you but boring for others. Amatsila did not mind Spinel's different ways, however it did bother her a little. "How come........you never show any emotions?" she bravely asked, straightening her head and watched him curiously. He has 'watched' her for so long, from what she could remmeber, its time she try to squeeze some information from him. It was often better to get to know one another. She did not like the idea that he knew practicly everything about her, simple as she was, while she knew he was a flutter and his name. That was really all.

"You dont have to tell me if you dont want to...." she added after a few moments. Best not to push him. He also did not seem like the type to do things unwillingly, then again who would. Spinel was had built a wall around himself, Amatsila could not get to know him simply by waiting for him to talk about himself. Even when you asked, he kept it simple. Too simple.
