Spectrum caught sight of his first break as the battle continued. The clouds had changed from dark grey storm clouds to vibrant orange colors signaling nightfall's soon to be arrival. "Guess this just aint you day pall," Spectrum said walking towards the dazed chimera, "see I'd have a hard time killing a big thing like you by transmuting sound at ya, but light? Well light is a different story all together."
Spectrum's projected alchemy circle once again began to glow as lightning arced around his hand. For a moment all the light seemed to drain away around him, as if he was surrounded by night itself and then refocusing that light into a large sharp beam, Spectrum blasted it clean through the chimera burning it to ash.
He could see the girl he saved across the way, she had gone to the military just like he had feared. Even now troops were emerging from their rooms and heading his way. He even could make out a state alchemist emerging casually from the main building. Spectrum knew it ws time to run a burnt apart chimera would attrack attention and questions. He thought about the three children and how he had failed them today.
As he ran from the scene he spoke to himself, "I'll get him for you. I swear it."

StrawberrieIceCream [Hawkeye] ((In my first post I'd said that Roy was done... but no matter... you know how paperwork is... randomly appearing out of nowhere these days... sweatdrop )) Riza shook her head. If he'd done it eariler... She cracked the pages of her novel, found the last page she was on, and began to read once again. Time had gone by surprisingly fast when she checked the clock; it'd been at least two hours. Roy's exclaim had startled Riza but she recovered in an instant. She watched him prepare to leave. Finally, when he told her that he was leaving, she nodded. "Very well, sir. I shall stay here to see if anything else is to arrive before eight. Good evening to you too, Colonel." She concentrated once again on her book.

"So, what did you think of him darling? Excited for your wedding tomorrow?" Sarah, Suzu's mother kept asking her about Sebastian, how he was like, if he was kind to her and if she liked him. He was actually really nice, very polite and handsome with his dark hair and glinting blue eyes. She didn't like how he circled her like a hawk after getting to know her name and age, then wrapped his arms around her in a tight embrace. 'You'll be perfect for childbirth, right age and body....' She remembered him saying and wanted to know how old he was, but never got the chance of asking it. "He's...fine mother." Suzu went back to starting out the window and as they were passing by, soldiers were making their way out of the building towards something a few blocks away. She blinked, curious. "Now now, why is the driver stopping?" Suzu's mother and father started to complain, and Suzu took this chance of escape. Her shoes being stiff and umcomfortable, Suzu left them in the car and sprung out of the door. She picked up the hem of her dress, it wasn't very long, but it helped in her running. She made it to the group of soilders, getting by the side of one of them to get their attention. "Excuse me, sir! What's going on?"

Spectrum couldn't believe how bad things had gotten. The military, now well informed about the recent chimera attack was swarming like agitated ants. Worse he had lost his hat in the fight and now he was running around the city with a quite fitting resemblance to a wanted murderer.
He ducked into an alley and after a couple of quick jumps he found himself on the rooftops once again. "Alright no sense in trying to fight this any longer, I need to leave town."
"Oh but you were getting so close to finding me James," a voice came from behind, "it'd be a pity for you to stop now."
Spectrum turned and at the other end of the rooftop stood the very state alchemist he had made this trip for. Immediately his hand dropped to his pistol.
It didn't even make it halfway before a bullet ripped through his elbow, knocking him over.
"Can't have that James, I went to a lot of trouble to set you up and I'm not about to let this secret go unshared with at least one other person." He sneered and removed Spectrum's pistol from it's holster. "You see I never believed that you were dead James. After all I had always felt it was kinda destiny that you and I meet."
The man began to pace as he spoke, not even looking at Spectrum to reflect his confidence in his victory. "I don't know who you pissed off James, but when orders come from the Fuhrer himself to place a bounty as big as yours on a man dead or alive, well I'm sure you're far from innocent."
He now approached and kneeled beside him, "I wont get too into how I figured out the mysterious Spectrum was the same man I had been hunting for a few years, but getting you to come to me -- well that as you know, was the easy part."
"You killed them just to get to me?" Spectrum felt sick, "You killed two innocent people just so you could claim a bounty!?!"
His automail eye activated and he lunged forward. "I swear to god I'm going to kill you for that, you are beyond forgiveness!"
Spectrum leaped at the man lightning arcing from his body. The sound waves from the commotion in the city made for a powerfull amplifier. He fired it at the state alchemist putting as much force as he could behind it.
An explosion rocked the rooftop and Spectrum's body was slammed back into the roof. He looked up to see that the man had transmuted a form of shielding around himself, it had reflected Spectrum's blast right back at him.
"I'm afraid James this is where we part, to the public I'll be a hero for stopping this "Scar" fellow or at least until he shows his face again, but secretly I'm going to be awfully well off as the man who killed James Spade traitor to the military. Hell maybe I'll even get myself a nifty little nickname and call myself Spectrum for a while."
James jumped to his feet now feeling nothing, but hate for this man. "If that's what you want me to call you before I kill you so be it 'Spectrum'," Three more shots slammed into James before he got there. The last thing he saw before blackness overcame his vision was the sight of the man looking down off of the roof at him where his body had fallen.

A gunshot reached the redhead's ears and she didn't pay attention to the rest of what the soldier said. She heard shouts from far off, no doubt about her behavoir in leaving like that and running. She would be punished, she knew that. But a chimera attack, and she heard gun fire. Her mood picked up, what is she was able to meet an alchemist? She had been praticing just for a few months now and would love to meet one personally, her parents hade forbidden it. They thought alchemy was the work of the devil, which made no sense to Suzu. Many of the things the Kitamura family owned were made from alchemy. She shook her head, and looked around sharply. Where did the sound of that gun come from? Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the driver of their car make his way towards the soldiers. She started to run, but was pulled back by that same soldier.
And ten struggling mintues later, Suzu was back in the car riding tot heir home. Her parents lecturing her like no other and that didn't help the girl's mood. She had wanted to meet an alchemist, or at least catch a glimpse of that chimera. She'd only read about them in the alchemy books she snuck in her room.

((Sorry about how long it took to update. I'm gonna be better about updating from now on))
His vision cleared, he was staring into the face of an angel. An angel who hours ago had been screaming for help from a Chimera.
"Oh good your finally awake, I have a lot to ask if your up to answering."
James tried to lift himself up from the cot he was laying on, but an explosion of pain forced him back down, "Where am I?"
"It's OK, you're safe, I found you in that alley after you fell off the roof and hid you here."
"Where's here?"
She fidgeted with her necklace a bit, "umm it's an old shack just outside of town, no one uses it so I thought it would be fine to bring you here. If I had known the military would attack you I wouldn't have gone to them for help when you started fighting that monster."
"Don't worry about it--" James let out a loud cough and he felt a stitch in his chest pop, "--look I don't wanna be rude and I appreciate all you've done, but I need to lay back down."
The girl didn't seem to notice the last comment and pressed on, "What do you think that monster was and where could something like that come from?"
James closed his eyes, "It was a chimera and odds are there is an alchemist around here who made it. My guess would be it was created by an inexperienced alchemist a chimera as weak as that one that's totally out of control is not made on purpose."
"You mean someone just made that thing and let it loose to kill people?"
"No, I wouldn't be surprised if the alchemist who made that is either dead or totally oblivious to what they have done -- damn amateurs toying with the power of god--" James' head tilted to the side and he was out again.
The girl stood quietly, there was so much she wanted to know about him, the monster, and why the military had done what they had done. For now though she slipped out of the the small shack totally unaware that her visits had been carefully watched from afar.

[Homunculus_Wrath] Gaia Name: Eternal_Sesshie Character Name: Kurai Age: 13 Apperance: long sleek black hair to his waist and yellow eyes. usually wear a black jacket and black jeans with the homunculus symbol branded in red on his back pocket ( sorry i dont know how to spell oroubouros or what ever.) also this tatooed on his left hand. it allows him to create and repair thing metal Sex: male Biography: Kurai was adopted at age 3 and does not remember my parents at all. my dad was a state alchemist and i always was interested in alchemy and escpecially in homunculus thats is why he has the symbol branded on his pants. At age 11 a man from ishbal broke into our house and shot my dad and never found me. For two years hes been studying alchemy to get in the military to have a source of money and to exceed the youngest alchemist to join the military. Alchemy/Powers: this tatooed on his left hand. it allows him to create and repair thing metal.  ( i made it my self im proud!) Any additional Information: nope

Walking along central and noticing a crowd crowing, was the eldest Elric brother. He blinked a couple time, from the confusion of the crowd, and walked over to see what was going on. His braid was pulled back tightly, and hung on his back. He wore his red jacket over the black clothes he had underneath and had the suitcase that carried his other clothes and contents inside. As he reached the crowd, and jumped up and down, after realzing he couldn't see what was going on. He sighed, and pushed his way through, dreading the fact that he was /short/.
