Reyn pulled his head out of the water and shook it off, tipping his head to get water out of his ears.
"I'm not sure...Hey Mama, what's my name mean?"
He lazily shrugged his shoulders, his ears flicking water droplets as they moved. "I just remember hearing it somewhere."
"Oh." Ellyseta continues to smile before looking back at Mhir. "Does your name have a meaning?"

Mihir shrugged, "It means a few things...it means colourful, sun ray, and peacock. So...well, you can make whatever you want out of that."

Reyn wandered back over to Ellyseta and Mihir. He plopped back down with out saying a word.
Ellyseta instantly snuggled into Reyn's tail when he plopped down. "Those are some pretty meaning."

Mihir sighed, "Thats what most women tell me." He smirked, "And men, but, mostly women." He shrugged, looking over to Reyn, "Whats your name mean, hnn?"

Reyn thought it over, trying to remember if anyone had ever told him about his name having a meaning. "I don't think it means anything, I think my human just made it up."

Mihir shrugged, "It sounds familiar," He said, "I've been many places, it's probaly some sort of European...or at least it sounds like it. Anyways..."

"Many places? Oh, have you traveled the world?" Ellyseta looked up at Mihir with eyes resembling those of a curious child. Her mind eager to learn more about the world that existed outside this island.
Reyn's ear perked up slightly, he was also intrigued by the idea of the outside world. But he was much better at hiding his curiousity.

Mihir nodded, looking back and fourth between Reyn and Ellyseta, "Yeah." He said, "I was looking for a place that would keep me happy." He sighed, "When I came here I didn't like it at first, but, I met someone and...well...I thought they'd keep me happy, but..."

"They make you sad instead?" Ellyseta reached over and patted Mihir on the knee, then paused. "Wait, does that mean you're going to leave?"
Reyn watched Mihir with veiled interest, partially dreading the answer. If Mihir left, he'd lose the only link to his past besides his Mother. And he doubted she would be of much help.

Mihir nodded solemnly, smiling slightly as his knee was patted. He looked over to Reyn, for a moment before looking to the pond. "I don't know if I'll leave. Maybe if something makes me stay...?" He muttered, "The world is a big big place, sometimes it's easier to stay in one place than to find another."

"Well maybe you'll find someone new that'll keep you happy?" Ellyseta grinned at her child like logic. "Then you won't have to leave."
Reyn silently watched Mihir, his eyes revealing nothing of his thoughts. Without really meaning to, he found himself admiring the way the light bounced off the other male's brightly colored hair.

Mihir shifted slightly, "Maybe...there certainly is a lot to choose from on this little Island." His tail swished slightly, "Eh, maybe I should just stay here, I've already got kids, I've got no use for the mating game anymore..." His tail flicked slightly, "Maybe I should just grow old and die here...though growing old and dying alone doesn't very fun..." He looked into Reyn's eyes for the first time since he was a kit. He'd forgotten how pretty they were. He swallowed a bit before looking at the ground.

Reyn felt a jolt in his stomach during that brief moment his eyes had been locked with Mihir's. He blinked and began to mull it over in his mind. It didn't feel like the jolt he normally got when a memory sparked or anything.
"Growing old and dying doesn't sound fun at all," whined Ellyseta as she burrowed into Reyn's tail.

Mihir sighed, "Though...I suppose not all can be so lucky to grow old with someone. There has to be someone in the world that dies alone...the whole world can't be lucky enough to find someone they're happy with, right? It's just not how things work."

Reyn debated on if he wished to voice aloud what his thoughts on the other man's words. With a lazy shrug, he layed his head down on his front paws and closed his eyes. "You will not being growing old alone."
