He smiled, pulling her chair out so she could sit. "Not yet love, but I want to hear all about it..." He encouraged, kissing her forehead sweetly as she sat. He took his own seat, bringing his chair a bit closer to hers so that they could be as close as possible. He took her hand in his, stroking it evenly. "Darling...you look so happy. I love that..." He exclaimed, taking in her twinkling features and how stunning her pale skin looked with that deep blue dress.

She did feel like a princess. Although the dress made her feel painfully white in comparison, it was something out of dreams made real only by Damian. The night, though, was thanks to Richard.

"Well, first I met the older woman who runs Flutterby, and then her apprentice, Lisa... Lisa seems a bit critical, and she's young, but I'm sure we'll get along once she knows I'm not a threat or anything." Really, Lorey was the last person to pose a threat to anyone unless lives were in danger. She'd already proven that.

Lorey placed her hand over his with a reassuring squeeze. "I'll work from eight in the morning until about one. I days are running slow, I can leave early. It's such a wonderful place, Richard, and she really pays well. I'll even get to work with arranging once she teaches me on the training days."

Richard smiled at her lovingly. "Thats wonderful...I'm so glad to hear that..." He cooed, just watching how she lit up was so refreshing to him. "Oh! Which reminds me..." He smiled nervously, rubbing the back of his neck. "I went to talk to Enty to tell him our news when I ran into an old friend of mine who works the landing pads occasionally. He offered me a few simple shipping jobs with my ship. Just a pick up and delivery sort of thing. I told him I'd talk it over with you, to see what our plans were before I started to get a hold on what my life is going to require or have time for." He explained witha tiny smile, hoping she would be happy. He didn't want Lorey to have to support the both of them on her own. Besides his love for her, the manly instinct in him refused to let her make the entire income alone. So this small odd job offer seemed to be a good short time answer. "S-so this way, I can help save up for our wedding..." He explained, his eyes soft and looking for approval, almsot like a small sweet dog.

What Richard was going to do for a living had crossed her mind many times, but here he had gone and found something for them both. Blue eyes scanned the crowd very quickly to make sure no one was directly watching them before she cupped his cheek and kissed him.

"I think that's wonderful! I mean, it won't take you too far away from home, right? Where exactly would you be delivering to?"
By the sound of it, Lorey wasn't sure if this was intergalactic shipping or just on planet shipping, made faster by ship.

"It really depends on who hire me and when. I could be stuck with soemthing as simple as a shipping food too a local restaurant, or an extremely valuable and important one to the other side of the galaxy." He smiled a little, not sure if she'd like that. "But I have the choice to decline or accept them on most occasions, and even then, I wouldn't be gone long. They'd pay me enough to outfit the ship with a bit more reliable and faster equipment. So it'd take probably half the time to do a job." He tried to make it sound like he wasn't just going to be gone all the time.

Lorey didn't really like the idea of that, but it was a job and Richard's options were limited because of his incident with the force. She would just have to grin and bear it, and not be so selfish about having him all to herself all the time.

"As long as you're not gone for weeks on end," Lorey said, more to herself. But if it meant finally being married and spending her life with Richard, then maybe the occasional long trip was needed. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, after all.

"But if it's something that you want to do, then you go right ahead and take the job. I won't hold you back."
She gave her brave smile, this time making it brave and genuinely happy. It had never been both before.

Richard leaned forward, kissing her sweetly in the lips before stroking her cheek momentarily. "Darling, I couldn't keep myself away from you for too long...it's physically impossible..know that." He said honestly, moving his hand back down to hers.

It was then a waiter approached them, asking if they'd prefer wine or champagne for their meal, as well as if they were interested in any appetizers. Richard extended a hand for Lorey to decide. "It's really up to you love..." He said with a soft smile, knowing she wasn't much of a drinker, so her preference was unknown to him at this point.
PostPosted: Tue May 12, 2009 3:35 pm

"Perhaps just a light, sweet wine," she said, looking up to the waiter with curious eyes, as she had no idea what the difference was between any of the wines upon the menu, and could hardly pronounce most of them. Had she been more of a drinker, maybe she would have known, but this world of fancy and lights was so unfamiliar to begin with that it might not have helped at all.

As for appetizers, she simply wanted a salad to begin with, with a heavy dressing and a good deal of pepper. Breadsticks were also a must.
"And what about you, what sounds good?" she asked quietly to Richard, knowing he would just go along with her if he felt it right. But, this was both their night out, and she wasn't about to bully him around a menu.

"I'll have whatever your major soup is for the evening, and bread sticks do sound good." He agreed with a nod as the waiter bowed and left them to fetch the wine.
Once he was gone Richard looked back to Lorey, laughing a little to himself. "Do you know how incredibly lovely you are? Not even just lovely...more like absolutely stunning in ever way..." He shook his head in disbelief, a goofy grin still on his face. It seemed he was terrible at staying focused for more than just a few moments before pouring over Lorey some more.

"Oh, for heaven's sake," she whispered with a blushing look away. He was always saying things like that, and yet it always hit her just how sincere it all was. Lorey's eyes couldn't stay diverted for long, though. They took him in with all her heart, as she truly did think he was extraordinary.

"Then we look very good together, because you are just dashing in that suit. Or in a t-shirt, really, but you look absolutely handsome and wonderful, as always." When Lorey said these things, she always felt her insides twisting with shyness. She'd never been in the habit of complimenting people, and here Richard was making it sound easy.

Richard smiled, shaking his head at her compliment. "Is it possible for me to love you anymore than I already do? Because I swear that I do more each second..." He laughed a little at himself, blushing ever so slightly. "Well soon to be Mrs. Mentaro...erm- unless you'd rather keep your maiden name. Burnheart is a lovely name...." He noted, realizing that since it was one of the only things connecting her back to her mother, she may want to keep it.
PostPosted: Tue May 12, 2009 4:13 pm

Actually, Lorey hadn't even thought of it before then. Burnheart was the name her mother took on after marrying her father, who she did love. It was a tragic thing, that she wouldn't slip back into her maiden name, but Lorey was given the name Burnheart, and that was that.

"Lorelee Mentaro..." she said to herself while looking into the distance. "Lorey Mentaro... that one sounds like one word if you say it fast enough," she said with a smile. "I think I'm alright with that. Or I could go with Lorelee Burnheart-Mentaro, if I truly want a long name."
All the while she held his hands, smiling to the point where her face muscles felt strange and twitchy. Upon her finger was the ring that matched her dress and eyes, and it looked like everything just belonged, even the goofy smile on Richard's face.

"Whatever you wish, I promise I wont be offended. I'll support you no matter what you do...." He promised, bringing her hands up so he could kiss them sweetly.

By then the waiter had returned with the wine, and proceeded to pour some for both Richard and Lorey before leaving it tucked in the bucket XD that sounds real classy. XD I'm too lazy to research it right now. XD* before turning to help fellow waiters who carried their appetizers. "Are you ready to order off zeh menu monsieur?" He asked as he set their salad and soups in front of them, as well as a basket of breadsticks.
PostPosted: Tue May 12, 2009 4:30 pm

"Oh goodness..." Lorey looked at the menu once more, and ordered a fettucini alfredo which was sure to upset her stomach later, but she did love it. That was good enough for her to concentrate on, and so she sat quietly to hear what Richard would have while they waited and ate what they already had.

In the mean time, she took a breadstick and began eating it in small bits with her fingers, not really caring about decorum or manners in this fancy place.
"These are so warm and fresh," she commented before putting some butter on it. There was music playing, making her wonder when Richard would ask her to dance. Maybe after dinner, she thought.

Richard ordered himself a simple steak marinated in something he could hardly pronounce as the waiter nodded, slightly unnerved, realizing they must not come to places like this often. Once he was gone, Richard had a few bites of a bread stick as well, dipping it in his soup which was a rich yet slightly spicy tomato. He ate 3 before stopping himself embarassed. "I'm- I'm sorry love, I just haven't eaten today and everything is just so good..." He laughed nervously.
