Keys: Jordan Rudess
I think the Classical training of Michael Romeo in contrast to the Jazz-trained Paul Masvidal would make for a very interesting band. Especially since they can both shred like hell! Charlie Zeleny is a very progressive drummer who is very talnted, but Travis Orbin is as well... so i'm not really sure. Jordan Rudess is just amazing. That's all there is to him.

Okay, so I've been thinking about this for a while...I posted one before, but I don't think they're work very well together, and a lot of people here just seem to be picking the most technically proficient, so I'm hoping this has some chemistry instead of all that...
Josh Homme - Vocals, perhaps guitar
Omar Rodriguez-Lopez - Guitar
Dirk Lance - bass (Maybe Jaco Pastorius, I'm not sure)
David Jackson - saxophone
Ikey Owens - keyboard
Ginger Baker - drums
I really tried not to pick two guys from the same band...But I ended up picking two from The Mars Volta. Oh well.
I think these guys would work really well together, as some sort of weird psychadelic/jazz fusion/experimental rock band.
Josh Homme's voice would suit it really well, in my head.
