Abel's head jerked when she confessed her feelings in those four little words to him and he looked down, bitting his lip. "Sarah, I... I care about you, a lot. I'm not sure how..." he murmured and he frowned deeply. He probably did love her, but talking to Leon had reminded him of a very important thing, one she had to know and understand. He looked up, placing a paw on her cheek. "Sarah, there's something I think you need to understand before... I know this is a very large jump in the topic, but you can only go so far with me. There's things, that I won't do, not because I'm a priest, but because..." he sighed and hung his head, shaking it a bit. He didn't know why he had a problem saying what he meant.

"Abel! Abel, please s'alright...you don't 'ave to answer love. I just wanted you to know, I don't feel right acting 'sif I'm only 'ere to be a friend, when I know I'm 'oping for more." She smiled softly and looked down at her clam.
"B'sides I know you 'ave obligations and such, vows..." She looked at him uncertainly from beneath dark hooded lashes. "You don't 'ave to explain now...the day is really so lovely." In a way she almost feared what he might explain, she would rather push past all his explanations and get to the happier part. Still she of all otters knew better, sometimes even at the end of a storm the rainbow failed to appear.

A paw flew to his forehead as Abel shook it. "No, no it's not the vows. I would convert to another denomination to be with you!" he exclaimed and placed his paws on her cheeks, leaning his forehead against hers, his eyes closing and his teeth gritting. "I just never want another to have to deal with what my brother and sisters and I do. I've noticed how much you love children, Sarah, and you need to understand that, if stay with me... there won't be a chance for that. I... you need to know that, now..."

Sarah looked at him a bit shocked, well now that wasn't the step she was looking for, it was quite a leap. She wasn't sure at all how to respond but her paw came up to brush a strand of his hair back. In her heart she knew she wanted pups of her own, someday, and someday soon...she wasn't a young otter after all. Yet Abel seemed firmly set against the idea. Could she convince him someday in the future? She knew he feared his particular gift, but the way that Sarah embraced all creatures for what they were she embraced his darker power as well.
"Abel..." She murmured and pressed against him. "Tha's still in the future you know love...I might want pups, but that wouldn't keep me from wanting to be with you. You make me 'appy, anything else would just be icing on a very delicious cake." She hugged him tight.

"I know it's a leap, but I thought you should know... I'm sorry, Sarah," Abel replied and smiled somewhat sadly down at her. But she didn't care. She didn't care about his inhibitions and worries and what he was and he... God, he loved her for it. She was the only one that understood him, though he didn't think she completely understood, but at that moment, he didn't care. "Sarah... You accept me and love me, much as I can't understand how, but you do. You're sweet and funny and intriguing... And I honestly think that I couldn't love another creature on this planet as much as I love you," he sighed and nuzzled her gently. And it was true. She was all those things to him and it wasn't because of some false sense of her that he had cooked up in his mind. He knew she had a darker side, but he saw the good in her.

All his words were simply an echo of the reasons she loved him so very much, they complimented each other in a strange way, both so accepting of each other while mildly afraid of themselves. She forgave him his wings and gifts and he forgave her for her unique appetites and desires. She returned his nuzzle and licked his cheek softly happiness flowing through her as easily as the blood in her veins.
"You've made me so 'appy Abel, I 'ope I can always manage to do the same for you." She let her paws gently wander his side and chest happily taking him in.
