Ketsu froze in mid-tap when Morgana nudged his forearm. His eyes widened when she claimed the item he had been holding was a clam. "Oh!" he exclaimed softly, carefully holding out the clam to her. "I'm terribly sorry. I just thought it was a mollusk and... it's something of a habit..." he ran a paw over the stone on his stomach. Finding it had been chipped by the tough shell of the clam. He brushed into the water before turning to Morgy, wondering if the clam had been like type she was looking for.

"It's alright, you didn't really know! I just need to check it..." she said, rolling to float on her back, holding the clam close to her small ear and tapping it with a claw lightly. It had a hollow sound to it, meaning, which she could only guess, that another otter had found the clam, got it open, ate the muscle inside and then discarded the shell once it was done.
She tried prying it open with her paws and found some resistance, but it did open eventually to find the inside quiet empty, though the interior quite smooth. She closed it again with a small snap and rolled it around in her paws as she gave it a close look, trying to find any chips or cracks on the surface. She didn't find any, not even after Ketsu had tried cracking it on his rock.
"Ketsu, you've done it, you have found the perfect clam!!" she exclaimed, rolling herself and swimming up to him to nuzzle his cheek with her own, her happiness making her overly affectionate.

His ear flicked slightly at a small snap, wondering if Morgana gained access into the clam. "Really? I mean I just sort of... stumbled upon it..." he said modestly. Ketsu blinked as she nuzzled his cheek. The breif warmth felt so strange against his normally cold body. "Well, the pleasure is all mine. I'm glad I was able to help you." He smiled warmly before flipping back to the normal swimming position. "Is there anything else I can help you with?"

"Let me go hide this, just so no one else finds it and tries to crack it open to eat what's inside." she exclaimed and she dived under the water to swim to the shore. She crawled onto the bank and went to the bushs, stuffing the clam deeping into the branchs and leaves, hoping no one would look and find the clam.
She then went back to the water and slipped back in, swimming her way back to Ketsu, a smile on her face and in her voice, "Let's go the waterfall, like you said before, and see if there is a cave behind it." she chirruped.

"Of course," He waited patiently, using his tail to prevent him from drifting off with the current. When Morgana returned, she sounded rather happy. "Sounds like a good plan to me. Judging by how long we've been swimming, the part where the river breaks off shouldn't be too far ahead. As long as we stay to the right, I think we should stay on track." he nodded with a curt smile. "If you need to stop to rest or rather pick up foot, don't hesitate to say so. The current may get a bit stronger before it lightens up." he added with a sincere tone.

"Very well, just lead the way, I don't feel tired right now." she said, quite happy to have finally found a clam that was good enough to house one of her pups. She just had to find two more.

Ketsu dipped is head with Morgy's consent. Staying close to the right side of the bank for aid, he trudged through the river upstream. Water occasionaly splashed over his head as the current began to pick up more speed. It got to the point where Ketsu felt as if his legs and tail would give out from trying so hard to swim against the current. His ears perked hopefully as he felt a slight change in drift coming from the north. "Almost there," he managed to sputter around the water. Staying close to the northern bank, he pushed foward until he felt like he was weightless. They had finally reached the part of the river that branched off to the north. It was so small, it almost be considered a stream, really. And while they still had to swim upstream, the current had barely any force to it at all. A newborn pup could breeze through it without any trouble. Allowing his body to relax, he turned to Morgana. "Are you alright? It should be pretty eay sailing from here." Knowing she was currently carrying pups, he didn't want her to put anymore strain than she needed.

Morgana followed after him silently, but the further they moved upstream, she was glad she was bigger then a normal female and that she wasn't quite heavy with pups yet. When the current finally stopped being so forcreful, she easily swam next to Ketsu, smiling, "That's good to know!" she said and she perked her small ears up to listen for the sound of falling water. She could hear it in the distance, the distinct roar a waterfall makes, "We must be very close, I can hear it." she said.

Ketsu nodded. "Won't be long now." He led her up the stream for a couple minutes or so before the narrow river opened to a lake. The sound of the falls were clear now, as water fell from a steep ledge about 20 feet high. "Ah, here we are." The lake was rather shallow, about 3 feet deep at the center, and lined by a pebbled shore. Forest surrounded the area, allowing the natural sounds of the evening accompany the soft roar of the waterfall.

Morgana looked around in awe, never having been to his part of the reserve before, "This place is amazing and beautiful! I should go out and explore more often!" she said as she continued to swim beside him, looking ahead and seeing the waterfall not far off now.

Ketsueki smiled. "I'm glad you like it. Despite the light roar of the waterfall, I find it rather calming. It's probably the only place I've visited more than once, because it's the only place I can find on my own through sound." He bacame a bit wary as they neared the waterfall, only because he didn't want water to unexpectedly crash onto his head. "So how do we go about finding a cave?"

"Hmmm...follow me, it should be easy enough to get behind the waterfall." she said, diving under the water and making sure to leave a bloody trail for him to follow by smell. It was easy to see where the water crashed down and she swam her way around where the water was white and looked up, seeing what looked like a ledge. She swam to it and popped her head out of the water.
The sound of the waterfall was quite loud, but she could see what looked to be a crack or opening in the rock face and she pulled herself out of the water.

Ketsu sumberged under the water, following the trail of blood from Morgana. The crash of the waterfall vibrated through the water. He could feel his pelt prickle as they moved around the force and white foam of the waterfall.
He blinked as his head broke through the surface. Whiskers twitching lightly from the spray of the waterfall, he scrambled over the ledge. Red water slid from his pelt as his paws felt the stone beneath him. "What a strange sensation," he murmured, thinking of what it looked like being between a rock wall and a cutain of water.

She shook her body gently to try to get the water off her, not wanting to shake herself too much or risk the pups inside. She looked to Ketsu when he pulled himself out of the water and she smiled at him, "It is indeed. There is an opening up ahead, certainly big enough for us both to go inside." she said, standing up and making her way towards it.

Ketsueki gazed around blindly, limited to imagining what the suroundings were like. Following Morgy, he waited for her to enter the opening in the stone wall before he did. Rocks brushed against his flank as slid through. He could hear the echoes of their paw steps bounce of the stone walls as well as the soft, slow patter of water dripping from the ceiling. "Is this a cave?"
