Tea sat down warily on the edge of a chair, peering cautiously at the stranger from across the room, her eyes turning to the window and widening at the storm raging outside. She slowly leaned closer to the man standing next to her, shivering through her damp jacket. "Thank you for your hospitality," she remembered suddenly, and took a sip of the drink in her hands.

::A girl sat on the edge of the ice at Bass'ken lake. She had a fishing rod and was looking at the water, waiting for a bite. She didn't seem to notice the man who had been lieing on the ice and the girl on the other side of the lake. All her attention was on the water. Finally a fish bit, and she pulled it in, putting it in a bucket of water that sat next to her. She then sat waiting for another fish.::

Lunar jolted backwards and flattened her ears in surprise at the man's sudden movement. "Gack! Watch it with that thing!" She yelled at the stranger as the fur on her tail poofed up. (Poofy!) "She slowly regained her composure when he put his blade away and cautiously extended her hand towards him. "Hi, I'm Lunar." She said.

Yup...I startled her, Kiris thought as he saw the gils tail poof out, and hear ears flatten. He then came to the conclusion that, those ones had to be real if she could do that with them, instead of the fakes ones people wore to get some attention. Interesting, Kiris hadn't met anyone short of pure human in awhile. Of course, he himself wasn't too human, with such acute hearing, and a slight bit of telekinesis. He could control the motion of objects moving through air somewhat, but couldn't start anything moving. Because of that, he often fiddled with his knives, as he had anotherr sheathed at his right side. He supposed he would've started he siplet toss-catch game with them, if he'd gotten bored of counting. Perhaps then people would not have beeen drawn by concern. Then again, others would just be drawn by curiosity. It was lose-lose. Kiris had drawbacs though. His botched respritory system made shallow breathing impossible, and accounted for occaisional fits of coughing, sometimes as feirce as to cause his throat and mouth to bleed. There were also the small rasping sounds that came with every exhale, that seemed like roars in silent.
He stared at the girl's outstretched hand for a moment, and then his mind came back to the present. He tried to reecal what the hell someone holding out their hand in that manner meant. He remembereed, luckily, lest he do the wrong thing, and embarass himself further. Kiris extended his own hand and shook the hand of the gril.
"Name's Kiris. Sorry for the start. I wasn't expecting any er...company."

Joseph then decides to leave the lake which he was sitting at and wonders if he should ask anyone here if they need his bounty hunter services. "Maybe I should bug random people until I get an assignment?" He thought to himself.

"No problem," said Lunar. "I had wondered if you were hurt or something, glad you're not as it would have been rather bothersome to drag you to a hospital or something." She gave a faint half-smile as she shook Kiris' hand. Her ears twitched slightly as she heard his erratic breathing but made no comment. Oh well, best to leave people to their own business. "Anyways, it's getting rather cold out here now and the rain may turn into hail so if you'd like to- BUGGER!!" She cried in mid sentence as she slipped on the ice and landed hardly on her backside. "Damn ice!" She grumbled as she slowly made her way back to her feet. "What I was going to say was that you could wait with me at my home until the rain lets up."

"You alright?"
Kiris masked the question after seeing Lunar fall and get back up again. I probably should have helped her get up. Kiris thought this as he watched the girl curse and franticly struggle to her feet again. Then again, she seemed to be alrght, and was up before the thought registered in Kiris' brain anyway. It was no big deal anyway, the ice was slick, so it was bad to happen. Kiris spoke again in reply to what the girl had said before the sentence that had included her falling down.
"Oh...I'm sorry then. I don't like having people worried about my state. It's rather a nuisance for me acctually. Again, I'm sorry to have worried you. I'm glad my reaction didn't give you too much of a start."
Kiris then pondered over the second part of what she had said. He couldn't refuse flatly. Hell, he couldn't refuse at all without looking like an outright jerk or lying. Neither of which he praticularly wanted to do. Either he could say "I'm fine hear" which would probably be taken to mean "I'd rather stand here and get drenched and freeze than seek shelter in any house of yours". Either that, or lying and saying "I have my own residence." Or "I have a place to stay already, thanks," instead of the truth which was "I'll just wind up under some storefront overhang because I'm an alchoholc nbum that makes what he can from picking pockets."
At the thought of alchohol, Kiris experimentally flicked the metal flask situated behind the sheathed knife on his left. Empty. Damn. He'd have to fill it up later. It seemed to him that he had no choice but to accept the girl's proposition. It'd only be 'till the storm let up anyway. Kiris started to form words in his mouth, but a sharp cough garbled them. It was starting. Kiris hoped that'd be all for now. There'd be more later though. Later, and relitively soon. He swished what had come up around for awhile experimentally, mixing it with his own saliva, angled his face to the right, and neatly spit a mixture of blood and saliva onto the ice a few feet away from them. He resumed speaking.
"Sure. I don't really have a place anyway. I suppose your'd be as good as anyone else's."

"Lung problems?" Lunar asked Kiris seeing him cough up blood and spit it on the ice. "Anyways just follow me." She said as she turned around and slowly made her way to the shore. Stooping to pick up her bag of goods she led Kiris to an enormous old tree surrounded by bushes. Carefully picking her way along, Lunar pushed aside a few shrubs and looked down an old hole in the ground. "Down here," she said turning to Kiris. She grasped her bag and slid down the short tunnel (About 15 feet from mouth to end) and landed at the bottom of an old hollow. A roomy den supported by the roots of the tree which held the dirt tightly together and formed a a small shelf like area on one side to hold a few various items. A mat composed of straw with a sleeping mat occupied the far corner, and an old wooden crate used as a table with two smaller crates serving as chairs. Lunar quickly lit a small oil lantern hanging from the ceiling to allow a nice orange glow to light the room and waited for Kiris to slide down.

"Ohh, no problem for such a beautiful lady and her ... boyfriend?" He questioned to find out one hundred precent sure that that is her boyfriend. She smiled and blushed, she turned her head to the ground and looked at the eared man, still smiling. "Yeah, were boyfriend and girlfriend." The man looked a bit suprised that she said that, he then smiled and said "Yep..." Zero stood up and walked over to his window.... lightning struck, and thunder rolled. A nearby building, or tree or something was hit!. (OOC: Please someone in the next post mention that) BIC: "Holy Cross! That hit near! I-I'll be back ... I have to see what happened!" The man grabed his coat and dashed out of his door tward the way that he saw the lightning strike, he started to jog there... the rain got harder and he had to put up his hood. He started to run after a moment. "Some things have to wait!" He exclaimed. He was in Barton Town and his eyes widened when he saw what had been hit.

x_x Oy. What a tough day today.. Another series of repeat threads all over the front page.
*He says as he leaves the Forum building, all tired and worn out. As he steps out of the Forums building, he notices a man nearby outside, on his knees by the fountain, all drenched in the rain. Puddles of water splashing as he happened to step in them, he runs to where Zero knelt and came to a halt, the rain beating down on them. *
Hey, are you alright? Why are you in the rain like this?
*Just then, he would notice how flames would some how risen up from the arena ahead of them.*
Wha.. How'.. Did you call the fire department yet? Hey, anyone got a cell phone?!
[ Pfft. Yeah. It was too late at night. @_@ Gonna edit again tomorrow. ]

I need to figure out how I can get Ember in my grasp.
*Start's one of those annoying evil laugh's and ends it with heavy coughing*
I should stop doing that.
*Ponders some more*
Maybe a Bounty Hunter could capture Ember for me...

*dropping in noiselessly beside Morden, she slinks to one side of the room, lounging against the wall in the shadows, watching him plot. This person seemed to be most adequate; the coin she could earn would suffice. Waiting until he finishes his gloating, she answers his query for him.
"Yes a hunter would do that and more if she were offered suitable terms..." she murmurs as she steps out of the shadows just enough to prove she brings him no threat on his own person. "Would you be interested in hiring a rogue ninja?" She inquires in a low voice.
