Charlie grinned and nodded to the pup before taking another sip from his glass. "Nothin' against that. You've met a third of what helps me from getting lonely at the house."
He laughed then, "I live there barely a week and it already feels more homey than where I came from." he commented, the realization stated more to himself than his companion but still audible.

Vic nodded. He understood homes not feeling like home. All while he was growing up, home had just been a place to go after the smoking and the booze. This place, as empty as it was, felt like home to him.

Charlie grinned broadly. "At some point, I've gotta find a way to get my cycle here and we can go riding together."

"Motorcycle, I hope you mean," Vic snorted, "because the image of you pedaling after me is just hilarious."

"Actually I meant monstercycle but same thing really." Charlie smirked a bit, snorting at the thought of him pedaling at all.

They finished up soon after and Charlie was drinking the last of his wine when Vic got up to go get dessert. He vaguely wondered if it'd be anything he could recognize. Not that it mattered, really, but still, he couldn't help but be curious.

Actually? Ice cream! ...well, ice cream and gulab jamun, but ice cream! Home made.
"Didn't actually do any baking this time."

"That's okay. Ice cream...and whatever that is....are just fine with me." he laughed. "What exactly IS it? Besides the obvious of course."

"Hm? Gulab jamun," Vic shrugged, "Think...little balls of cake in sugary syrup." Oh, but they were so much more than that. He'd learned early on, though, that most people didn't understand his passion and would give him strange looks when he tried to explain.

"Well, I vaguely gathered that from looking. I was hoping for something more than that explanation wise." Charlie said, glancing at the stuff. It did look good, but he was getting curious.

"What do you expect?" Vic asked, scooping one out with a spoon and eating it shamelessly. Aaah, delicious.

Charlie shook his head then. "Nevermind." he laughed and scooped out his own. He'd much rather eat than ask what it was. Honestly, if it were so important, he'd just figure it out on his own. And it really was delicious.

It was a ball of sugar and milk powder. How could it NOT be delicious?!
"It's been a long time since I've been able to cook for anybody but the dog. I like it."

"Been a very long time since I was cooked for. I like it too." he responded, a strange soft sparkle in his eyes. A pleasant sparkle.
