Shanna66 Tihmiishu Shanna66 lewydusa I was considering buying one Or a bearded dragon What are they like as pets? Fun? Expensive? x beardies are a better starter reptile. they are easyer to handle than water dragons from what i hear, i used to have 2 beardies. they eat alot when they are babies and they need a large tank when they are adults, then again, so do water dragons. all herps can get expensive, unless you make everything yourself and breed your own bugs, but they are all worth it. beardies like to come out of their tanks and even enjoy going outside or on short walks. i dont own a water dragon, but i have heard they are a bit harger and need more room than a beardy. Yeah, water dragons need a bigger terrarium since they need a lot to climb on to keep them all happy and exercised xD The males can also grow up to three feet, whereas I think beardies aren't as long? though they're also not mostly tail. I've heard beardies are more docile, and from the sound of it, easier to handle than water dragons. I personally haven't tried to take Jazz outside (because I'm afraid I'll lose him), but I've heard water dragons are very skittish and don't do well on walks. Whenever I let him bask in my window, he gets pretty scared if birds are around, so. ive heard they are skittish. beardies are very calm, but they will n** if they are hungry. the bites dont hurt but an adult can draw blood. the average for beardies is 18in. my biggest one was 24in. and the world record was a 26in. male. beardies are mostly tummy lol, they love to eat and never seem to get full. the main problem with beardies is that they need a variety of foods. i was lucky and unlucky at the same time, mine never ate his veggies so i had to get him that commercial food that no one likes. going all natural with their diet is best, and if you dont have the time t ofix them salads everyday i would not recomend one but they are so rewarding to keep i adore water dragons though, but i dont think i have the room for something that big. do you have any pics of the enclosure? No, not online. It's a 65 gallon tank, three feet long, I think 18" deep, two feet high? He's just a baby though--we'll probably need to get a bigger one in the future. I have a dresser that's four feet long and takes up most of my wall, so we put the tank there xD Dunno where we'd put a bigger one... The general opinion seems to be that water dragons need a terrarium five feet tall, three feet wide, and at least 2 feet deep, as a minimum. All I know is I'm going to need a job to get one that big xDD;

I found one online that size, and it's $925 just for an empty box with doors. Granted it's a nice box with doors, but..
