Howl chuckles gently, patting her hair. "I don't think that is quite how it works, my dear. I have slept many times before without changing, as have you, I'm sure. Besides, what would I do if I grew any bigger? I wouldn't fit in buildings any more." His eyes widened, as if afraid this might actually occur. He had never seen a ghostling much bigger than he was now, and few enough that were his current side. He doubted he'd be going through any more growth spurts, at least.
"You, however, may still grow a bit. You will have to be patient though, these things take time. Don't you want to enjoy your new form before you change again? It is very lovely, after all. What if your new form looks like this." and he made a face, twisting his features into something more silly than scary.

Lie looks startled quickly "I haven't slept before. In my other form I have NEVER slept. I couldn't sleep. Now I can. HOW COOL" She feels really good for coming upon this discovery. "I would be hilarious! Maybe that how giants are made!! You would be a sex monster!" she laughs rolling around. "I guess your right. Can I eat or drink?? I have a mouth now!! LETS GO GET BEER! I wonder if I can get drunk? I wonder if Blackey is around?" She spins around to see his face. And laughs herself off the building.

Howl grabs her, unsure if she can float or not in her new form. "Careful there, you don't know the limits of your new body yet. You don't want to hurt yourself. And I would suggest something other than beer for your first taste experience. It tends to have unpleasant after-effects. I also find the flavor unappealing, but that is a personal preference." He wondered who Blacky was, and if said individual knew what his or her nickname was. At least, he assumed it was a nickname.

Lie just agrees with everything and gayly goes on her way. "I think I can float so I SHOULD be fine. I mean I could float before why not now?" She then turns and says"Thanks for saving me Prince!" she says with a kiss and jumps down." she plummets but her grey puffs become a parachute and she lands and skitters into the near by bar she came out of yelling" COME ON!!!"

After a moment of shock that does not have enough time to become something stronger, he rolls his eyes at her fondly. He tests his new wings, and when they easily lift him from the roof and prove they can hold his weight, he uses them to glide down after her. He likes the odd little Ghostling, and is worried that if he loses her she will get distracted and forget about him and his stories, and then he might never find her again.

By the time Howl gets in she is at the bar and pirates have surrounded her. This is her favorite hang out and the pirates think seeing her here before shipping off means good luck. She is manly with a small group at the head of the group is a robust man guffawing. His best trait is a large thick mane of black hair on his chin. Lie is dancing out of his reach for she knows he is leech especially with her new found body. The other pirates are a little wide eyed but going with it except the first mate who is a scholar and used to Lie by now. Lie spots Howl and careens over "Howl Howl!!! Lookie guys a friend of mine! His name is Howl. Howl this is Blackey and Matey." 'Blackey' and 'Matey' look up in shock but introduce themselves. The robust man goes " I am actually Black Beard. PLEASE don't call me Blackey". 'Matey' goes "I am the First Mate. Nice to meet you Howl, unless that is a nickname?" He says with a laugh.

Howl smiles charmingly, shaking hands. Just because he usually chooses to be solitary, does not mean he can't socialize when the mood hits him, and he is genuinely happy to meet Lie's friends, whatever they may be.
"It is, but self-inflicted. Howell Jenkins, if it please you, but any friend of Lie's is welcome to call me Howl. It is a pleasure to meet you all." He gives them an embellished, courtly bow.

Lie climbs on his head and tells him to sit down. "These are all cool people. Blackey is a leach though and Firsty won't tell me his name. I think he is a super hero is disguise, like a alias. He says 'I deny everything' I don't get it, Do you? Do you know him?" Black Beard tries to give Howl and Lie drinks and The First Mate remains aloof. Both are impressed that Lie has such a well mannered friend. They assumed she had freaks for friends. In the meantime she had crawled into his lap... to get closer to the boose. >>

Howl glances at Black Beard, raising an eyebrow. He is not surprised, but the old pirate better watch his hands with his Lie. For all her words otherwise, there was a delightful innocence to her that delighted him and made him want to protect her.
He sips his drink - awful stuff, but he does not let his opinion show; he wouldn't want to hurt Lie's feelings or insult his hosts.
"No, little one, I do not know him. Or at least did not, before you introduced us." He made room for her in his lap, petting her hair as she settled.

Lie pouts" I want to know who you arrrrreeeee" She whines to Firsty who just states "I deny everything." Lie frowns and says "I know, I heard ya the first hundreth time." In the mean time she had guzzled her drink and her face contorted and she hiccuped. "EEEEEWWWwwww that stuff is uberly nasty!!" She grimances and grabs Howls hand leaving the other to pet.

Howl chuckles, wrapping his other hand around hers. "Little one, one of these days we need to teach you a little thing called tact. I think that it can wait a bit though." He found her straightforwardness endearing, and if these people had been her friends for any amount of time he was sure they were used to it as well. One of these days, that mouth of hers was going to get her into trouble though.
"So, Sir First Mate. Are you truly so secretive, or are you just having fun with poor Lie? To deny everything is a bit much."

Still sort of trying to get the yuck of her tongue she answers. "What do you mean tact? I don't want hard biscuits." Meanwhile as Howl guessed Blackey was Guffawing and First Mate was chuckling under his breath. He retorts "A little from column A and a little from column B."

Howl grinned. "Tact, not hard tack, my dear. I'll explain when you're older." The last comment was meant to tease her.
He turned to the pirates. "So, how long have you known Lie? Has she always been so... exuberant?" He raised an eyebrow.

Lie just frowns and says "I don't get it." Blackey speaks up first to his question. "Aye, she was exuberant the first time I found her. Nearly pissed my pants too. Suddenly a blue thing screams 'HUMANS' and attacks my face. I also can't get it off because I can't touch it. Ya, it gave me a fright to say the least. Then we got to talking and became swell friends!" he boasts. Lie is kinda blushing but smiling a lot over the recollection. Firsty smiles and answers too. "Well as far as I can tell she has mellowed some even from her spectral form! But I do owe her a lot. She got me my job." Lie starts nodding. "I DID! I really did Howl, I was in here with Blackey and he said he needed a smart person and I saw a Hobo but I could tell he was a smart hobo and I told Blackey to hire him. Blackey didn't believe me but when he couldn't do any better be did it and NOW look what happened!! Now Blackey believes me and calls me his good luck charm and he just wants to put me in his pocket and take me home. I always say no" she laughs and is now facing Howl and sorta bouncing o is lap with enthusiasm. ALso if is also the First Mates turn to blush at the hobo comments.

"Mellowed? Gods help us." he pretended to look scared.
"Well, sir First Mate, is seems at least some things you cannot deny." He pats Lie's head. "That was very kind of you, little one, to help them both out. I am glad you don't let him keep you in his pocket though, for then how would I have met you?"
He takes one of his items, a small, colorful cube puzzle with three-by-three sides of different colors, out from his coat. He jumbles the colors and then hands it to her as a distraction before she gets too excited.
