I was more thinking about how a centaur would have evolved... And a pair of breasts on the upper body is just redundant and useless for centaurs.

Shard Of Ronin I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who feels that having one's organs on display would be undesirable. *was afraid to look like a prude* I'dlove to take you home with me and tuck you into bed, I'd love to see what makes you tick inside your pretty head. Not prudish, but, then again, it's REALLY different for male horses than for females. I mean, have you ever seen a male horse? o.o;; There's a reason why people only use female horses in movies. A huge reason. (Excuse the accidental pun. xP ) I'd love to hear you laugh tonight, I'd love to hear you weep. I'd love to listen to you while you're screaming in your sleep.

Actually, when you really think about the centaur breast thing, It makes more sense that they would be on the chest, rather than between the legs. This is because, unlike with a horse which can simply bend it's neck down to reach, a centaur baby will have a much longer and less flexible length to it's head. So it would make sense that they would simply stay upright, and breastfeed from the chest. However, I agree that the centaur females' breasts would stay smaller until needed, because of that horse-like nature of their make-up.
As for clothing: just as with humans, I think it would be both a cultural and personal choice. If they live in a society where it isn't nice to have your naughty parts hanging out for all the other centaurs to see, then they would cover up more than they would if their society was au natural. If they lived closer to colder regions, they would wear more layers than they would in the desert. If there was a specific color that represented something, they would only wear it at certain times. And if they lived in the forest, they wouldn't wear something that would get snagged easily.

Plus, being much larger in relation to their parent than normal human babies, a reach to the chest isn't all that unbelievable.

I think weather or not a centaur wears clothing is up to where the centaur was raised. If they were in a highly wooded area prehaps raised away from humans I don't think they would be as interested in clothing as if they lived in close proximity with two leggers.

If it's cold I sometimes put on a shirt, otherwise just my small armor.
Why would I need anything else? I have fur enough!

Going back to the subject of having young and breastfeeding, even if the centaurs had small breasts normally, when they had nursing foals they'd be bigger and still need support if they needed to run anywhere. Like after an unruly child, say.

("Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence in society." - Mark Twain
[laughs] so I would say clothes are of no importance, but it tends to have more influence on people if you dress up fancy enough xd

I think that females should cover their top in general public, but other articles of clothing can be fun or decorative. Like, right now Im wearing a headband, belt and gloves...none of which I really need, but I like my current appearance, and I'm still working on increasing my wardrobe mrgreen
(by the way, I just joined the guild...Hello everyone!)
