"Oh, Richard..." she said, her voice full of sadness for him. Lorelee lifted her hand to brush his lightly in a sympathetic fashion, hoping she wasn't making the emotional wound worse. "I'm so sorry to hear that." And just when she said no more sad things.

"It's fine, really..." He said, with almost no emotion as he stared off into the distance with a furrowed brow. "I shouldn't have mentioned it, things were going so good...." He admitted, giving her an apologetic smile.

"Don't be sorry. And I know for a fact that it's never alright. It's just a burden you carry with you as you try to desperately figure out why things happened the way they did, if you could have stopped it in any way..." She caught herself getting carried away, though, and stopped. "I'm the one who brought up sadness anyhow."

Richard stopped dead in his tracks momentarily, looking down at the ground. She had hit it right on the head. He turned slightly and looked Lorelee in the eye. He seemed to be looking for something in her deep, soft, blue eyes, but after a moment, he seemed to give up. "Lets just enjoy tonight....tonight is your night to do whatever you want." He said, taking both her hands into his.

At first she thought she had said something terribly wrong, but his features softened when he took her hands. "Right now, I think the only thing I want is to sit in the cafe. So, let's go." Lorelee began pulling him forward slightly. Honestly, if she could do anything she wanted, she would get her hands on books, food, atmosphere. But no one had that kind of money in her life, and so she was content with company.

Richard smiled warmly as she pulled him along. "Anything for you..." he chuckled under his breath as he followed her towards the Cafe.

Moving slowly through the small crowds that had developed during the day thanks to various stands, certain street performers desperate for credits, or the occasional crime spree that happened once or twice a day, Sveriana silently thought to herself about her failure while she looked at the now scarred wound on her shoulder where she was shot. Luckily for her, the shot she injected herself with mended the bone and cartilage that was damaged, but it gave it a numb sensation, which she was trying to get over as she walked onward.
"Deilita....you're the first person that I was unable to kill on a contract other than that one girl who tried to save Rose." She thought to herself as let go of her shoulder and put her hands on her sides, since she had left her jacket back on Deilita's ship. It was alright, at least she didn't have her wallet in that one. Although, she would have to get changed and probably soon, the smell of blood was starting to irritate her, especially since it was her own blood that was spilled on her.

Raquel made her way through the crowded streets, having mixed feelings of being 'home'. She had considered more than once, turning and running back to Damian. But she knew she couldn't...she knew she shouldn't....Would he even take her back anyways? Don't think like that... She chastised herself. This is for you...not him. You need to get your life together before you end up ruining his. she told herself this many times but it didn't make leaving hurt any less. Leaving him in his condition made her feel worse. Who would take care of him? Lorey was out of service for awhile herself with all her breaks and bruises, and she doubted Richard would lift a finger to help him. It all distressed her very much but she tried to put it out of her mind as she kept walking, guitar case in hand, not really all that sure of where she was going.

"But what I don't understand is...why did I fail? Was I too overconfident? Or maybe I just didn't plan enough, cause it wasn't expected that he'd have another person in his midst.." She continued to think to herself as she walked, her mind not even on the path ahead of her, which lightly littered with people and other objects and whatnot.
However, she eventually looked up from what she was doing, and saw one familiar face that made her stop in her tracks and smile wickedly. Was it her? It had been so long since she had seen her last, Sveriana doubted she would remember her, but it was worth a try in any event. Walking over to Raquel, she smiled and stopped a few feet in front of her. "Well, well, looks like we've crossed paths yet again my friend. Still playing that dusty old guitar?"
Her smile was evident, although it was kind and innocent, there was dark intent behind her words, and it was hidden rather well.

Raquel found herself snapping out of her day dream to find a terribly familiar face. Her eyes flashed to dark green but she fought herself to stay calm. "Sveriana...you haven't changed a bit." She said, trying to smile coyly. She was surprised she recognized her. After all, her hair was longer from her excursion with Lorey the previous day. But her old guitar case did give her away almost immediately. She sighed, cocking her head. "I thought you left his planet awhile ago to find some fresh meat to kill..." She added, trying to hide the very slight fear she still had for this woman. Even if they had been companions in the past, it was hard to forget all that she had done.

Laughing softly, she shook her head a bit and stared at Raquel with her dark, red eyes. "Hmph, I'm appalled that you would think of me as a mindless killer Raquel. Such hypocritical remarks from one who aided me in killing an ex-cop's wife, which reminds me..." She said as she came closer to Raquel and placed her index finger on her forehead.
"I saw him recently, he's a tad bit bigger since we last saw him, and I think he knows you. Care to explain as to how, cause I don't recall you being the social time, especially with the proper authorities, keheheh..." Sveriana still had her finger on Raquel's forehead as she spoke, but soon moved it away from her head so as not to agitate her and provoke her into attacking Sveriana. Although she might have won in a fight, she didn't really feel the need to do so at the moment in time.

Raquel glared at her. "First off...I didn't aid you. Rose was a good woman...one of the only people I've met in my lifetime to show me any hint of kindness." She took a step forward to show she meant business. "And as for Richard...Yes I was in his company for awhile...He's an ex-cop now...on the run I suspect... Though I was there on purely business." Her voice wavered on this last part, for she knew that wasn't true. Yes, it had started off that way, but...
Raquel didn't want Sveriana knowing about Damian. If anything, she was worried for his own safety. That and her own reputation from the street was on the line.

Sveriana was starting to get the feeling back in the area that she had been wounded in previously, meaning that it had almost fully healed properly from the shot she had given herself beforehand. Smiling at the sudden boldness from her actions, and then even more at the waver in her voice, Sveriana stepped forward and grabbed Raquel gruffly by the collar, still smiling as she spoke.
"You better watch your tone with me. You know you're my comrade, but I'll gut you like a fish if you talk to me like you're hot s**t little girl." Forcibly letting her go, Sveriana placed her hands on her hips and shifted her weight onto her left leg and foot. "Oh, and what kind of business did you have with that man in the first place? Was it the....sexual kind, or have you stopped being that kind of girl?" Laughing softly once more, she kept her soft smile while she continued to look at Raquel while waiting for a response.

Raquel tried her best to conceal the terror on her face when she had grabbed her, but managed to pull herself together long enough to put together a response. "You know me...Always moving up." It was half sarcasm, half just idle boredom.
"Some stuck up aristocrat who lost his daddy recently paid a pretty penny to simply have shoulder to cry on...no sex if you can believe it." She hated speaking of Damian in such a way, but anything to get Sveriana away from him

Looking at Raquel, Sveriana kept her smile and soon got in Raquel's face and stared at her eyes. "Hmph....there's something you're not telling me, I can see it. You look a lot....prettier than the last time I saw you. That make-up hides most of those bruises and scars that used to be on your face really nicely. But you see..."
She stopped for a moment as she backed up a bit and looked away for a second before looking back to Raquel. "You're going to tell me the truth about your ties with that ex-cop. Cause he made me bleed, and anyone that can manage to do that, I have to kill on principal..." Sveriana knew that this girl was scared of her, she had tested it out on her many times during this conversation, and just subtle changes in her eyes, breathing rate, and body language, made her readable like an open book.
