It was almost as if she had been holding her breath, waiting for him to say something, anything. He was so quiet, she began to feel like a fool. Why in the world had she thought he might feel the same? To him, she must have looked like the most clumsy, insignificant, flawed lioness he would ever meet.

But then he spoke and her heart jumped. He didn't want to leave her, didn't want to be parted. And she knew he was speaking true. What reason would he have to lie? She couldn't help but smile as she leaned towards him and nuzzled his neck, running her cheek over his mane, her eyes blissfully closed.
"If this is love," she whispered, more to herself than to him, "than I never want to be out of it again."

She was beginning to get the feeling that love was exactly what it was between them. Well, on her part, at least. Despite all of his flaws, his bad attitude, his sarcasm, his habit for biting remarks, his gruff exterior, deep down she knew he had a good heart. And that was what helped her love him. Oh, sure, she accepted all of the "bad" traits, she even enjoyed a few. But it was his heart, the way he would sometimes look at her with a softness that seemed to confuse him, the way he selflessly saved her those times, that entwined her heart with his.

((Think we should end it soonish and start the birthing RP? I imagine that one will only be a few posts long, doubtfully more than a page.))
