Danny treaded carefully, the high grass potentially hiding wild pokemon.
He was mid way through Route 1 at this point, and had seen most pidgies and Rattatas.
Nothing very exciting. He wanted to train different pokemon than most people, and those two were very common team individuals.
Danny took a break under a really large tree and took out some food. He had packed a sandwich and a bag of fresh grapes for the trip, and his stomach was telling him that now was the time to eat.
As soon as he unwrapped the grapes he heard a rustle from the bushes close by and saw a tiny purple horn sticking out of the bushes. Seeing this, he slowly took his poke dex out and pointed it at the horn. In a mechanical voice, the poke dex registered: Nidoran Male, the poison pin pokemon. It scans its surroundings by raising its ears out of the grass. Its toxic horn is for protection.
"Awesome!" Danny exclaimed, startling the pokemon and making it come out of hiding.
Danny grinned and reached to his belt. He took off the poke ball with no symbols on it and threw it, releasing Growlithe. "Let's see what attacks you have at the moment...Bite, Roar, and Ember. Hmm..ok. Start with Ember!"
Growlithe barked and threw hot ember flakes at the Nidoran, causing it to back up a little bit. It wasn't burned, but took some damage. Nidoran than broke out into a run towards Growlithe.
The poke dex activated, saying it was a peck attack. "Bite!"
The two pokemon slammed into each other, and being as how Growlithe had the first attack, the wild Nidoran had more damage to it.
"Go, poke ball!" Danny threw the poke ball and it hit the Nidoran, sucking it inside. The ball shook once....twice....and a third time before the latch sealed and Nidoran was caught.
"Alright Growlithe we did it! We caught Nidoran." Growlithe barked and wagged it's tail, happy at it's achievement.
Danny walked over and picked up the poke ball. He tossed it into the air, and Nidoran appeared in front of him. "Hi there." Danny said smiling. The Nidoran inched closer before smelling his trainer and than ran over, taking in the attention.
Danny smiled, happy at his capture.

(Sorry. When I get tired, my mind goes numb >.<)
Robert gave a nod to Jake. "I got here only a few hours ago." Robert spoke before Nurse Joy returned with Robert's pokemon. Lilly and Sable were outside of thier pokeballs, while the other three rested snugly inside thier pokeballs. "So you went with Beedrill. Pretty strong pokemon, especially in swarms. Lilly is getting stronger. And this here is Sable." Robert spoke as he guestured his head to his pikachu before then released the rest of his pokemon from thier pokeballs. "This is my Nidoran Julia, my Butterfree Light and my Pidgey, Krystal." Robert replied. "I'm probably going to spend some time training myself tonight before tomarrow's gym battle. There's a few combo manuvers I want to try out." he replied.

((Don't be sorry. Mistakes happen))
Nurse Joy came back, handing Robert and Jake their pokemon. Jake listened as Robert introduced his team. He then waved with a friendly smile to them. Jake then sent out his three pokemon, "This here is Charmander, but you've already met him," Charmander gave a smile, "This is my Beedrill, and this is my newest addition, Oddish." Beedrill waved as he was introduced while Oddish hid behind Charmander, hiding from the attention. Jake then spoke again, "Yeah, some training before a gym battle would be a good idea. Just don't overdo it. I promised my pokemon I would take them out to eat tonight. Maybe I can stop by tomorrow to watch your gym battle."

Danny had finally reached Viridian City. He conquered Route 1 and got out of it a new pokemon.
He walked past the poke mart and head right for the center. He entered the sliding doors of the pokemon center.
"Hi Nurse Joy," he said walking over to the counter. "Can you check the status of my pokemon?" he asked.
"Sure thing, just lay them on this tray."
He put the three poke balls down and watched her take them to a machine. The machine buzzed and whirred. Finally, it stopped and she looked at it. She also brought the tray back over.
"Your pokemon are just fine. I suggest training on Route 24 a little though, there are some wild pokemon before you get to the passage to the Indigo Plateau."
Danny nodded and thanked the nurse for her help.
He went back out, and looked at the sky, seeing that the sun was past the high point and coming back down for night. He decided he would spend a few hours, and than camp down for the night.
He started to explore the grass, but did not have to wait long before finding a wild pokemon.
A wild mankey was eating an oran berry when it saw Danny and screeched a challenge.
Seeing this as another opportunity, Danny picked Bulbasaur's ball and released the grass pokemon.
"Vine Whip, trip it up!"
Bulbasaur's vine whip snaked around Mankey's leg and sent it into the air, to which Bulbasaur followed up with a tackle.
The mankey crashed down to the ground, but got up anyway. It rushed Bulbasaur and attacked with a scratch attack, doing a fair amount of damage.
"Time to end this, vine whip again." Bulbasaur's vine whip whacked the Mankey on the head, causing it's eyes to spiral.
Danny threw the poke ball and in a matter of three seconds, the Mankey was captured.
He picked up the poke ball up, and smiling to himself, jogged back to the center for the night.

Robert chuckled a bit. "No need to worry about it. I know when enough is enough. I'll see you all at the gym tomarrow then." Robert said as he and all five of his pokemon headed out towards Route 3.
Once they had found a nice clearing with only a few trees, Robert turned and looked at his pokemon friends. "Alright, tonight we're going to practice combination attacks. We'll be using alot of these in future battles, and each combination will have its own name. So when I call out the combo attack name, I want you to know what attacks I want you to use. First, I want to start off with you Julia." Robert spoke before motioning for the Nidoran to him. "Since Brock is going to be using rock and ground types, most presumedly, you are going to be my primary pokemon for this match.. The combination I want to teach you is something I like to call Collateral Damage. This is a combination of Scratch, Double Kick and finish off with posion sting. I'll try to domonstrate on this tree." Robert swung his fist down in a downward motion before jumping up a bit and fliping into the air. He slams his feet into the tree, launching himself away from it before turningin air to land on all fours. Man, I'm glad I took those after school karate lessons back in Hoenn he thought to himself. "And when you land, that's when you let loose with posion sting. Do you think you can do that?" Robert asked before getting back up on his legs. Julia gave a nod. "Good. We're going to try this until you get it down pat. Now, attack that tree, Collateral Damage!" With that, Nidrona made the swipe with no problem. However, the jump and roll was a bit off, causing her to land on her back. "Are you alright?" Robert asked. Julisimply stood up and kept trying on her own. After about three hours and Robert's two remaining potions later, she had finally gotten the most difficult part down, and was able to pull off the triple attack combination. Robert gave a yawn. "You did a great job Julia, I'm very proud of you. Looks like we're not going to have time to train the others. Let's go back to the pokemon center, get a room and get some sleep." Robert said before returning Julia, Light and Krystal to thier pokeballs and heading back to the pokemon center.
The next morning, Robert and his pokemon woke up from thier slumber in the pokemon center small hotel room. "Alright guys, let's get some breakfast and then head to the Gym. Brock's waiting fo us." After feeding himself some hot buiscits and gravy, and his pokemon some specialty pokemon food from the pokemon center dinning hall, Robert headed out to Pewter Gym.
Robert entered inside to find the place empty, but as they turned around, Robert saw Brock come in from the entrance they just came in from. "Ah, good morning. Ready for our battle?" Brock asked. Ash came in from the other entrance and sat up in the bleachers. "Good morning to you too. My pokemon and I are ready. What are the rules?" Robert asked. Brock headed over to his side of the gym. "The gym rules are three pokemon each. Only you as the challenger are allowed to make substitutions. Now, Geodude, go!" Brock tossed out his pokeball, releasing Geodude from it. Robert pulled out his pokeball, tossing it into the battle field. "Alright Julia, you're up!" Julia poised herself, ready to battle.
"Geodude, Rollout!" Curling itself into a tight ball of stone, Geodude sed quickly towards Julia. Wait for it... Robert told himself as he watched Geodude get closer by the second. "Now Julia, Double Kick!" RObert called as Geodude was within three feet of Julia, giving Geodude and Brock no time to react. Like a ponyta, Julia faced away from Geodud and kicked out hard with her hind legs, sending the geodude ball flying up into the air and towards Brock. "Geodude, Keep that spin going!" Brock called out. As soon as Geodude landed, it launched right back at Julia, even faster this time. "Julia, Double Team!" Julia waited until Geodude was almost on top of her before using double team. Geodude sailed right in between the Julia and her after-image, past Robert and right into the gym wall, fainted.
"Geodude, return! That's some quick thinking, but this isn't over yet. Go Steelix!" The red beam recalled Geodude to its pokeball. Brock then tossed out his next pokeball, releasing the gigantic Steelix from it. "Steelix, Iron Tail!" Steelix swung it's tail sideways, making evading more difficult. "Julia, jump onto the tail and then hit it with Double Kick!" Julia jumped up and towards Steelix, hammering on it with Double Kick. However, Steelix swung his tail back just as Julia had landed and sent her flying into Robert. Robert caught Julia, and ended up falling on his rear three feet away from where he was standing. "Julia, are you alright?" Julia was panting, but she seemed to still be in fighting condition. But as Robert set her down, Julia began to glow. Within moments, she evolved into Nidorina. Robert took out his pokedex. Nidorina, the posion pin pokemon. The female's horns develop slowly. Perfers physical attacks such as clawing or biting "Alright Julia, let's show them what true power is, let's go!" Robert called out. Julia charged at Steelix with renewed vigor. "Steelix, Slam!" Steelix thrust its head down hard towards Julia. "Now Julia, jump backwards to avoid it and use Double Kick!" Julia jumped back, letting Steelix slame head-first into the ground, then she pounded away on the stuck Steelix with Double Kick. The move caused Steelix to faint. However, Julia was still looking in rather rough shape.
"Steelix Return. Go, Marshtomp! Mud Shot!" Brock called out. "Use Double Team to evade it and then hit it with Collatteral Damage!" Just as with Geodude, Julia used Double Team to slip past the mud Shot as she ran closer to Marshtomp. Once within strikling range, she struck a downward blow with Scratch, hopped up and curled into a double kick, not only damaging Marshtomp but launching herself out of physical attack range. Opening her mouth, she let loose a hail of posion pins fromher mouth. However, the third attack would be stopped in its tracks. ""Muddy Water!" Brock called out. Marshtomp sent a torrential stream of mud and water out, knocking the posion sting attack out of the air and pounding a weakened Julia, sending her fainted body rolling towards Robert. Robert returned her to her pokeball. "That was better than I could ask for Julia. Get some rest now. Lilly, Let's finish this!" Lilly hopped off of her master's shoulder and ran out to her place on the battle field.
"Marshtomp, Mud Shot!" Brock called out. Marshtomp sent a powerful ball of mud and water flying at Lilly. "Lilly, send it back with Confusion!" Lilly tried, but was only able to reroute the attack, causing it to land far to the left of them. "Muddy Water, go!" Brock caled out. "Now, Teleport behind Marshtomp and use confusion!" Robert called out. And as Lilly teleported behind Marshtomp, Robert ended up on the recieving end of Muddy Water, knocking him off of his feet and turning him into a human Muk.
Meanwhile, behind Marshtomp, Lilly sent psychic waves ripping through Marshtomp's head. Now not only was Marshtomp heavily damaged from Julia's earlier attack and this one, but now it was confused. "Turn around and use Muddy Water!" Brock called out. Marshtomp turned and shot, but that attack ended up leaving Brock in the same shape as Robert, all covered in mud. After, tripping on a rock and clocking its head on one of the boulders, Marshtomp fainted.
"Looks like you both need a good bath!" Ash called out from the bleachers." Brock chuckled a bit before returning Marshtomp to his pokeball. "Tell me about it." He said as Robert and brock wiped as much of the mud off of them as they could get.
"That was really well played. Rather than calling out the attack names, you used a single made up name for a combination attack so that I wouldn't know what exactly you were doing until the double kick part was done. I present you with the Boulder Badge. And now, I'm going to clean up." Robert laughed a bit before accepting the badge and putting it in the case. "Same here. Otherwise someone might mistake me for a muk and try to catch me." Robert jestd before heading back to the pokemon center.

The sunlight came in through the center windows at the pokemon center in Viridian City.
Finding it easier to sleep on the couch in the lobby, Danny woke up nice and early so he could get through the Viridian Forest and get to Pewter City.
He recalled that one of Professor Oak's starters had been claimed already, so that trainer is probably in Pewter, and maybe he could catch up and travel with him or her.
He retrieved his team from Nurse Joy and set off, all four pokemon brimming with energy.
Danny set off into the forest, anxious to what he would find and see. Unfortunately for him, it was nothing exciting. He wasn't a fan of bug pokemon, so he wasn't really interested in catching any.
The appearance of bug pokemon did, however provide ample training opportunities, as two of his pokemon, Nidoran and Growlithe had type advantages, and Mankey needed the work.
By the time Danny left the forest, the training paid off. Mankey had learned the technique Karate Chop, Nidoran learned horn attack, and Growlithe learned quick attack.
Bulbasaur didn't really get much work, but Danny knew that Bulbasaur had the advantage at the next two gyms.
Danny exited the forest at about mid afternoon, tired and ready for some rest.
He walked to the Pewter City Pokemon Center and dropped his team off, before sitting down on one of the couches to rest and relax.

Jake watched as Robert exited the pokecenter. He hten looked down at his pokemon and spoke, "Alright guys, lets go. There is supposed to be a diner by the museum here in Pewter.
Jake and his pokemon entered the diner and were quickly greeted by a Lopunny who showed them to their table. Jake sat next to his Charmander on one side while Beedrill and Oddish sat on the other side. It wasn't long before They were greeted by a tall girl with brown hair and brown eyes. She was wearing blue skinny jeans and a T-shirt, "Hello, my name is Lola. I will be your server tonight. Can I start you off with something to drink?" Jake sat for a second, hesitating on what to get his pokemon, "We will all have water. We want to stay healthy for our gym battle in two days." Lola set her notepad down, "Oh really? I love watching Brock's challenges. Ya mind if I come and watch your battle?" Jake smiled at her friendliness, "No. Feel free to come and watch. I'll just come here and get you before I go to battle." Jake and his pokemon finished their dinner, making a new friend throughout the meal. On their way out, Lola caught up to speak to Jake, "Alright them, just stop here by the restaurant to pick me up before your battle, okay?" Jake nodded. He and his pokemon called it a night by renting a hotel room.
Jake got up early the next morning and headed to the gym, only to find that Robert's battle had already begun. Jake felt a little bad for showing up late but he sat down next to Ash and watched in excitement as Nidoran evolved. Ash leaned over to Jake and explained what he had missed. At the end of the battle, Jake decided that it would be best to leave Robert alone so he could get showered. Jake wouldn't want to have to talk to someone feeling like a Muk. Instead, Jake took his pokemon to the route between Viridian Forest and Pewter city and began to train.

After a good and thorough shower at the pokecenter, and some much needed rest for his pokmon, Robert began to gather his things. Jake would probably take on Brock on the following day, however Robert was ready to move on towards Cerulian City for his second badge. Robert walked up to the video phone to call his parents.
"Oh Robert! Good to hear from you!" Robert's mother came on the screen. "So how are things in Kanto?"
"Things are going great. I've already made some friends, both pokemon and a few other trainers, plus I got my first gym badge." Robert replied.
Robert smother smiled. "That's great! Also I have some good news on my end. You remember that pokemon ranch project your father's been working on building? It's finally done! Here, hook up your pokedex to the phone computer." Robert took out a usb connector from the pokedex and connected it to the computer phone. "Ok there. Now, whenever you have more than six pokemon with you, others that you catch will be sent straight here. Also, you can send over any pokemon you'd like if you think they need a break, or if you want to reorganise your team."
Taking a look at his pokeballs, Robert thought for a bit. It wouldn't be a bad idea to have one of his pokemon take a break, at least for the trip through Mount Moon. Taking Light's pokeball, Robertplaced it into the pokemon transporter device on the side of the computer. "Ok mom, I'm sending my Butterfree over for a little while." Robert's mother smiled. "Oh a Butterfree! How gorgeous! You know, you should think about getting into some contests while you're over there." Robert gave a simple nod. "I'll think about it. For now, I'm going to head to Cerulean City."
As Robert left the Pokemon center, Ash came up to greet him. "That was an awesome battle! So what are you going to do now?" Robert smiled. "I'm going to head to Cerulean City next. I can always see Jake's progress when I run into him next." Ash gave a nod. "Well, if you don't mind me tagging along, I'm heading to Cerulean City myself. There's an old friend who lives there that I haven't seen in a long time. And you'll get to meet her too. She is the gym leader there as well." Robert laughed a bit. "You must be friends with all of the gym leaders, huh?" Ash chuckled a bit. "Somewhat, but Brock and Misty are my two closest friends. They've traveled the world with me. But Misty had to head back to Cerulean. Her sisters aren't very good gym trainers." Robert gave a nod. "Well then, let's get going." Robert spoke. With that, the two of them headed through Route 3 and towards Mount Moon. The duo were just a few minutes away from the mountain when the sun began to set. "Let's set up camp here." Robert said. With a little help, the camp was set up in a little under a half hour. "I'm going to get a quick look at Mount Moon Ash." Robert spoke. "Sounds good. I'm gonna collect a few berries I saw earlier." WIth Lilly, Sable and Ash's Pikachu guarding the campsite, Robert made his way to the base of Mount Moon. However, things were going to take a turn for the ugly.
"Damn weak piece of crap! Graveler, kill it. I never want to see such a weak piece of trash agian." could be heard from inside the cave. Within moments, a Vulpix was sent flying from out of the cave, followed shortly by a broken pokeball. Robert rushed over to the Vulpix. It was more orange than red, and it was in extreamely bad shape. "Hold on!" Robert reached into his backpack, pulling out the remainder of his oran berries and a potion. "Eat these. They'll make you feel better." Robert spoke before spraying the potion over the Vulpix's battered body. It would take almost an hour before the little fox was out of the proverbial fire. "What kind of sick person could do something like this?" Robert spoke. Gently, he stroked the Vulpix's cheek as it rested. Once he was sure the Vulpix was in decent health, Robert took the last pokeball attached to his belt and tapped the Vulpix on the head. Robert still had four more pokeballs, so there wasn't too much concern in Robert's mind about running out of pokeballs. Robert looked at the pokedex. Vulpix, the fox pokemon. At the time of its birth, Vulpix has one white tail. The tail seperates into six if this pokemon recieves plenty of love from its trainer. The six tails become magnificently curled Form what he saw, Vulpix only had two tails. "You got alot more suffering from your previous owner than you did love. But don't worry. You're safe with me, and I'll give you all of the love you need." Robert said after releasing Vulpix from the pokeball. He picked the little fox up onto his lap and cuddled with it until the little vulpix went to sleep. Only then would he bother looking at the remaining information. It was a female with the Flash Fire ability and knew Ember, Tail Whip, Quick Attack and... "What's this?" Robert spoke, looking a little confused. "Energy Ball? But that's a grass move." Then he remembered what his father had told him about breeding. Sometimes a pokemon can learn certain moves only through breeding that it otherwise wouldn't know. "So, your mother must have bred with a male pokemon that knew that move. Wow, you're quite an amazing little thing! I think I'll call you Farrah." Robert said before carrying Vulpix back to the tent.
Ash returned to the campsite with enough berries to make plenty of pokemon food for both teams of pokemon. "Ah, you caught a vulpix!" Robert shrugged a bit as he petted Vulpix's head gently. "Yes and no. It seems her former trainer wanted nothing to do with her, so he had his Graveler attack it and threw away her pokeball. I brought her back to health, but I swear, if I ever find out who that b*****d is, I'm going to make him pay for what he did to this vulpix." Robert spoke, his eyes showing a deep amount of anger. "That's wrong on more levels than I'd care to think about. People like that don't deserve to be trainers. But look at it this way. Vulpix lost a cruel trainer and gained one of the best. And you have a new friend to care for." Ash commented. RObert gave a nod, smiling some. "Yeah."

Danny was waiting on the couch when a resounding ring called out, signaling his team was entirely healed.
He walked up to the counter and retrieved his team, thanking the nurse.
Danny walked out of the center and over to the gym, hoping that Brock was ready for a battle.
He walked in, and saw that two workers were cleaning the field. "Is Brock around?" he asked politely. "Yeah, he just finished a gym battle, he should be in the back healing his team. You can go and take a seat on that set of bleachers there, and he'll be along soon."
Danny nodded and thanked the nice man, and sat down where he was directed, hoping Brock would come out soon. He was itching for his battle.

Jake set his Oddish down on the ground in front of him, "Alright Oddish, I'm going to start by training with you, okay?" Oddish nodded her head. "Okay then Oddish, you gave my Beedrill quite the battle yesterday, and you didn't even need to move your feet to do so good. I liked that, and I would like to pull it off against Brock. So Oddish, when I first send you out, I'm going to tell you to use ingrain, so you will gradually regain health during the battle. Sleep Powder is a useful attack, but if I rely on it the whole battle, there is no guarantee that it will be successful every time. So we will only use sleep powder when you are low on health. That way we can put Brock to sleep and combine the ingrain with absorb to restore health. Other than that, I don't feel that there is much else we can do. All your attacks are special attacks and I don't feel acid will do very well. To be honest, I don't think we need to train all that much. Maybe a practice battle will help, but other than that, we're fine." Oddish smiled at her useful attacks. Jake then turned to Beedrill, "Beedrill, all I really want you to do is use focus energy and focus all your energy in your stinger hands, for all of your attacks rely on them." Beedrill nodded at this simple task and use focus energy on his stingers, They glowed up and grew in size, then went back to their original color. Jake smiled, "Good job Beedrill, by focusing energy on those stingers, your other attacks will be increased in power. Now for you Charmander," Jake turned to his starter pokemon, "the only thing I want to work on with you is improving your senses. When you use your smokescreen attack, it can make it hard for both you and Brock to see. So what we will do is have you use your smokescreen and I will run around in the area. Your goal is to strike me with one of your attacks, okay?"
Charmander used smokescreen, filling the area with smoke. Jake coughed a bit and then began to run around the area. Charmander closed his eyes, focused, and used an ember attack, missing Jake by a long shot. After a long time of practicing, Charmander had finally perfecting hitting his opponents when shrouded by smoke.
"Alright then Oddish, lets look for a pokemon to battle." In the distance, Jake could see someone running towards him waving. As she came into view, Jake realized that it was Lola, his server from last night. She finally caught up and spoke, "Hey Jake! Nurse Joy told me that you headed down here to train. I was wondering if I could help in any way." Jake nodded, "Yeah, do you have any pokemon? Oddish and I wanted to do a practice battle." Lola reached into her pocket, pulled out a pokeball, and sent out a pokemon, "Squirtle, go!" A squirtle appeared, ready for battle. Jake pulled out his pokedex, "Squirtle. The tiny turtle pokemon. It shelters itself in its shel, then strikes back with spouts of water at every opportunity."
Lola stood on one foot, commanding Squirtle, "Squirtle, rapid spin high into the air, then use mirror coat!" Squirtle retrieted into his shell and spun high into the air in a spiral motion, then he appeared from his shell, opened his mouth, and shot a rainbow colored beam straight at Oddish. Jake, amazed at how appealing this move was, commanded Oddish, "Its too late to try and dodge, use ingrain!" Roots came from Oddish's head and dug into the ground. The mirror coat attack hit Oddish hard in the face, causing her to roll backwards. The roots connecting Oddish to the ground sparkled, showing that she gained a little health.
Lola, who was proud of her super affective attack, gave her Squirtle another command, "Squirtle, if they're going to play the healing game, use Aqua Ring!" A small ring of water appeared above squirtle's head and began to fall around his body, expanding and retracting to fit his physique. "Oddish, use acid!" Odish shot a puddle of acid at squirtle. "Squirtle, match the acid with water pulse!" Squirtle opened his mouth, shooting a jet of water at the acid and then hitting Oddish. Another ring healed squirtle as Oddish kept absorbing nutrients.
Oddish was getting low on health, so Jake decided to put his strategy to use, "Oddish, sleep powder, then use absorb!" Oddish shot powder out of her leaves, which then fell backwards, putting Oddish to sleep. "Huh?" Jake said. Lola laughed, "Water Pulse confused your Oddish. Her sleep powder backfired, resulting in that. Now use Ice Beam!" Squirtle shot an ice beam attack at Oddish, causing her to faint.
Jake went over to shake Lola's hand, "Wow, you're really good. And you're moves...they were so flashy and...beautiful! I didn't know you were a trainer." Lola replied, "No, I'm not a trainer. I've always wanted to travel and coordinating has always fascinated me. So ever since I got my Squirtle, I've been training him and perfecting his moves." Jake replied, "Why don't you travel with me?" Lola gasped, "R-really? I've always been to shy to ask people if I could travel with them. Honestly Jake, I would be honored to travel with you." Jake spoke again, "Yeah it will be fun." Lola spoke, "Alright then, its getting kinda late. Want to crash at my place tonight? I can heal your Oddish and tomorrow I will watch your gym battle and quit my job, okay?" Jake nodded and they set for Lola's house.

Danny had been sitting on the bench for a little while when a figure entered the freshly clean gym field.
"Hello there." the person called out. "I am Brock, the gym leader. I was told you have requested a battle."
Danny got up, and walked over to the field. "Yes that is correct. I am Danny from Vermilion City, and I would like to challenge you for the Boulder Badge." he said, proudly and openly.
"Very well. It will be a three on three match. I will not substitute." He nodded to the referee, who declared it an official match.
The two trainers took their respective boxes, and the match began. "Go Geodude." Brock said, throwing out his first pokemon.
Danny thought carefully, and made his own decision. "Go mankey!"
Mankey appeared in a flash of white light and hopped up and down excitedly."
"BEGIN!" yelled the referee.
"Go, Leer attack!" Mankey's eyes glowed a deep red and he stared down the Geodude, trying to lower his defenses.
"Rollout attack!" Brock called. His geodude rolled into a ball and sped towards Mankey, who was barely able to flip over Geodude as it rolled by. It turned around and rolled back. "Now, Karate Chop." Danny yelled.
Mankey brought it's glowing paw down on the Geodude as it came in again and both pokemon took damage.
Thanks to Leer though, Geodude took more, and it's eyes went crossed. "Well Done Danny. I commend your skill. Let's make this more interesting, go Marshtomp."
The mud fish pokemon appeared, and got ready for battle. "Mud Shot!"
Marshtomp reared back and fired a thick glob of mud at Mankey, hitting it and sticking it to the floor, lowering it's speed ability. "Mankey, scratch!"
Mankey tried to move but couldn't force itself through the mud, and with one more tackle, Mankey went down.
Danny recalled Mankey and thought about his next move carefully. "go Bulbasaur!"
Brock nodded and Marshtomp prepared another Mud Shot. Anticipating it, however, Bulbasaur broke out into a run and vine whipped the marshtomp, doing considerable amount of damage. Marshtomp wasn't down though, and fired back with a water gun, sending Bulbasaur back. "Go Leech Seed."
The small seed parachuted off of Bulbasaur's back and landed on Marshtomp, quickly wrapping it up in a thick vine and sapping it's strength.
Bulbasaur recovered it's loss of health and Marshtomp was down. One left.... Danny thought to himself.
Brock smiled, and threw his final poke ball into the arena. The ball opened, and the massive form of Steelix appeared.
Danny and Bulbasaur both stared up at the steel pokemon, and with even greater determination, Bulbasaur rushed at the iron snake, using Vine Whip.
It didn't do much damage, but Steelix was loosing some health. Steelix however, bound Bulbasaur and started squeezing.
Bulbasaur couldn't take much more, and bite down on the snake's tail, causing it to drop the small grass pokemon.
"Leech Seed." Danny commanded, trying to figure something out. "Iron Tail" Brock said, still smiling.
The massive glowing tail slammed down, sending Bulbasaur into the wall and making it faint.
Danny was down to his last pokemon, and he knew exactly what to do. "Go Growllithe, ember!"
Growlithe came out blazing, sending a shower of the flaming specks at Steelix.
Steelix roared in pain, but the ember shower did not let up, with Growlithe facing up, sending the embers right at the Steelix's middle.
"Quick attack the spot!"
Growlithe disappeared in a flash and reappeared, smacking into the burn marks on the Steelix's body.
It crashed down to the ground, eyes crossed.
Danny had won. He met Brock in the center of the arena, and shook his hand. "Congratulations, you deserve that. You're a great trainer, I wish you the best." he said smiling.
Danny thanked him, and headed for the Pokemon Center.

Robert curled up in his tent with Farrah wrapped up in his arms. Lilly cuddled close to Robert and Farrah, while Julia slept on the other side of Robert. Sable and Krystal took turns watching the camp along with Ash's Pikachu. But a peaceful sleep was not to last for too long. The sound of an explosion came from deep within Mount Moon, waking everyone. Robert and Ash ran out from thier tents along with thier pokemon. From the sky, the two could see a Meowth headed air balloon sinking into the mountain. "I'd know that balloon anuwhere. It's Team Rocket." Ash said. Robert gave a nod to Ash. "I've had an a few encounters with some grunts. Enough to know any Rockets in the area means no good can come from it. Let's go." Robert spoke before pulling four of his pokemon into thier pokeballs.
Zubats flew out of the cave like a tidal wave. The two stumbled around, with only thier pikachus' electricity to light the way. Finally, they saw two peoplebagging Clefairies and Clefables left and right. But they were not the same duo Robert encountered before.
"Prepare for trouble, your pressence is unwanted.""Make it double, we've got style and we'll flaunt it." "To protect the world from devistation.""To unite all peoples within our nation." "To denounce the evils of truth and love.""To extend our reach to the stars above." "Jessie.""James." "Team Rocket Blasts off at the speed of light!" "Surrender now or prepare to fight!" "Meeeowth, that's right!"
"Oh will you shut up! Sable, Thunder Bolt!" Robert commanded However, both Jessie and James whipped out plastic shields to interfere with the electric attack. "Please, We've dealt with that twirp's pikachu enough times to always carry around electric protection."
"Then perhaps you ought to invest in fire protection too. Farah, Ember now!" Robert's Vulpix let loose a strong ember attack, melting the plastic shields.
"Sceptile, use leaf blade and cut those pokemon free!" Ash called out, summoning Sceptile forth to cut the bags out of Team Rocket's hands. "And while we're at it, let's empty those heads a little more. Lilly, Confusion!" Lilly hopped off of Robert shoulder and sent psychic waves through Team Rocket's minds, causing all three to start dizzying around. Robert looked at ash and the both of them gave a nod, knowing what to do next.
"Pikachu..." "Sable..." "THUNDER BOLT!"
Both Pikachu and Sable lit up Team Rocket with a combined electric attack, sending the trio soaring out of the cave.
"Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off agian!" was all that could be heard afterwards. All of the Clefairy and Clefables danced in joy. As a thank you present, one of the Clefables presented the two with a piece of moonstone for each. Robert began to think hard after accepting the Moon Stone. He knew he could evolve Nidorina into Nidoqueen with it, yet somehow, he didn't want to. She looked cute enough as she was, and giving her the additional ground type would give her additional weaknesses, plus the size would make her slower. Yet, Nidoqueen was more powerful. "You alright?" Ash asked. "Yeah. I'm just pondering some things over in my mind. Weather or not I should evolve Julia into a Nidoqueen. Personally I like her the way she is just fine." Ash placed a hand on Robert's shoulder. "Then don't evolve her. I like Pikachu the way he is, and even though Riachu's are said to be stronger, I wouldn't trade my Pikachu for ten Riachus." RObert smiled and pocketed the moonstone. "Well, I'll hold onto this anyways. I might need it for something else somewhere along the line. Or, just to keep it as a momento. But for now, let's get back to camp and get some more sleep." Robert spoke. With that, the duo and thier pokemon headed back to thier tents for some much needed sleep.

Jake, Lola, and their pokemon got up early the next morning, ready for the gym battle. Heading to the gym, Lola spoke to Jake, "Jake, I want to let you know that I wish you luck in this battle. I myself have battled Brock before just for fun not too long ago and got myself a boulder badge." "Really?" Jake asked, "What else have you done?" Lola shrugged, "Not much. Pewter City doesn't have too many exciting things going on here. Every year I enter the Pewter City contest, so I have a ribbon valid for the current Grande Festival. But Jake, this morning is about you, not me. Good luck." She said as they walked into the gym.
Inside the gym, Brock was standing at the opposite end of the field. "Ready?" He asked. Jake nodded. "Alright then, the three on three knockout battle between Brock of Pewter City and Jake of Pallet Town will now begin.
"Steelix, go!" Steelix came out of its pokeball. Jake responded by sending out his first pokemon, "Beedrill, show your strength!" Beedrill was released, flapping its wings with immense speed. "Steelix, start off with Iron Tail!" Steelix's tail began to glow and he swung it at the Beedrill. "Beedrill, dodge and follow up with poison sting!" Beedrill managed to dodge the Iron Tail, hitting Steelix hard with the poison barbs emitting from Beedrill's stingers. Jake noticed that some of the poison had entered Steelix's wound, "Nice job Beedrill, we've managed to poison him!" Brock laughed, "You're wrong, Steelix is part steel, he cant be poisoned. Now Steelix, Bind!" Steelix wrapped its body around Beedrill and began to squeeze his health away. "Beedrill, use focuse energy!" After a few seconds, Beedrill managed to relax, focusing all his energy in his stingers, they glowed and grew. "Perfect, now hit Steelix with a fury attack!" Beedrill hit Steelix with his stingers, alternating from left to right. Steelix let go of Beedrill in pain. "Steelix, use fire fang." Steelix opened his mouth and bit Beedrill with fangs of fire, leaving Beedrill with barely enough health to hold on. Jake stood with a smile on his face, "With Beedrill's ability, his bug type moves' power is increased. Beedrill, you've done well. Now twinneedle!" Beedrill shot needles at steelix, not doing very much damage, but doing enough. Steelix then used an Iron Tail, causing Beedrill to faint.
"Alright then, Charmander. Let's go, ember!" Charmander came out of his pokeball, hitting Steelix with an ember attack. "Steelix, we won't give up that easily. Dragon breath!" Steelix opened his mouth, shooting a large fire at Charmander. "Charmander, try to resist." Charmander tried to fight back the pain and maintain his health. "Now Steelix, hit him while he is weak. Stone edge!" Steelix circled around Charmander at high speed, a brown aura surrounding him. He then turned in and hit Charmander hard with the attack. Charmander flew into the wall, crying with pain. Jake spoke, "I've heard of that attack. Luckily the recoil did some damage to your onix." Brock laughed again, "Not with my Steelix's ability. He doesn't take recoil." Jake shrugged, "Charmander! Are you okay? Give him and ember attack!" Charmander managed to get up. He ran towards Steelix, jumped into the air, opened his mouth, and instead of the usual orange flame, a purple fire (much larger than ember) shot out and hit Steelix. "Dragon rage! awesome!" Jake shouted. "Steelix, no worries, iron tail!" "Charmander, dodge and hit him with ember!" charmander managed to jump of the tail and hit Steelix with an ember attack, sending him to the ground fainted. But Charmander had obtained a large amount of damage himself.
"Geodude, go and use rollout!" Geodude came from the pokeball and rolled at high speed to Charmander, sending him flying back. "Charmander, don't worry. Smokescreen!" Charmander opened his mouth and filled the room with smoke. "Geodude, keep trying to hit, its your best attack." "Charmander, focus and use metal claw!" Charmander stood still with his eyes closed, listening for Geodude's movement. Charmander sensed where he was and ran towards him striking a critical hit with metal claw. "Now! Quick! Dragon Rage!" While Geodude was still near, Charmander hit him with a purple fire. "Geodude, you know where he is now. Strike with rollout!" Geodude turned around and hit Charmander with a rollout, causing him to faint. "Charmander, return!"
"Oddish, go and use ingrain!" Oddish was released and she planted roots into the ground. The smoke had now cleared. "Geodude, Mega punch!" "Oddish, acid!" Geodude punched oddish, causing her to spin. When she caught balance, she spat acid at Geodude. "Now Oddish, use absorb!" Oddish's eyes glowed green as she stole Geodude's health. "Geodude, your about to faint. Use explosion!" Geodude exploded, doing massive damage to Oddish.
"Marshtomp, go!" "Oddish, you're about to faint. Use sleep powder!" Oddish sent a sleep powder at Marshtomp, causing him to faint. "Now combine ingrain with absorb!" Oddish spent the whole time of Marshtomp's nap restoring her health. Marshtomp finally woke up, with half the health he had had. "Marshtomp, ice ball!" marshtomp opened his mouth, shooting a ball of ice at Oddish. "Oddish, take and then use absorb!" Oddish took the attack and used absorb on Marshtomp. "Now marshtomp, mud shot!" Marshtomp opened his mouth, shooting mud at Oddish. "Now, Hydro Pump!" He opened his mouth and shot water at Oddish with high force. "Oddish, give him another sleep powder and keep using absorb!" Oddish put Marshtomp to sleep and began absorbing his health. After a minute or two of sleeping, Marshtomp's status went from sleeping to fainted.
"Good battle!" Brock said walking to Jake, "Oddish really turned things around for you. Here's your badge." Brock handed Jake the Boulder Badge. Jake spoke, "Yeah thank you. That was intense." Brock laughed, "Haha. Its a good feeling though. You'll get used to it by the end of your next battle with Misty." Lola ran from the bleachers, "Jake you did it! Nice job! Let's go heal your pokemon."
Jake returned his Oddish and walked with Lola to the pokecenter where Nurse Joy healed his pokemon. They were walking out when Jake ran into Tommy, who was accompanied by his family.

Danny got his team back and belted each ball before going back to sit on the couch for a little while longer.
While he was sitting there, he noticed a trainer and an accompanying girl come into the Pokemon center for treatment too.
They had just come from a gym battle. That must be him.... Danny said to himself.
He walked out of the center and stood at the end of the road, waiting for that trainer to hit the road.
When he came out and started walking, Danny would talk to him. Hopefully that other trainer would not mind company, even though he was walking with a lady friend.

At first light, Robert and Company got themselves up and ready. After packing everything up, Robert began to set up the orange cups. "What's all this for?" Ash asked. "It's morning training. I want to have my pokemon be as pin point accurate as they can be." Robert spoke before looking to his pokemon. "Krystal, knock all of the cups out of the trees one at a time with gust attacks. Lilly, catch each cup with Confusion and toss them at Julia. Julia, alternate between Scrtach and Double Kick to hit each cup directly up into the air. Farrah, alternate between Energy Ball and Ember and destroy each cup Julia hits up into the air!" Within moments, the pokemon began thier training excercises, each pokemon performing thier tasks with precision. Although Farrah missed the first few cups, her accuracy began to improve as they went, and by the end, she had her timing down pat. "Great job everyone. And you did very well Farrah." Robert said before knealing down and petting Farrah's orange furred head. After returning Krystal, Farrah and Julia to thier pokeballs, Robert and Ash made thier way into Mount Moon. Team Rocket's wrecked balloon was still inside at the center of the passage. However, as the two reached the exit, several boulders came flying from out of nowhere. Robert and Ash jumped to opposite sides.
"This mountain is my training ground, insolent pests. Leave now or I'll have Graveller crush you!" Robert's eyes went wide as he heard that voice. It was the same as the night he found Vulpix. "Like you did to your own Vulpix. You sick, sorry piece of magikarp dung." Robert cussed before taking out one of his pokeballs.
"That sorry piece of work wasn't worth the air I breathe. And if you don't leave, it'll be the last you breathe." The cocky trainer spoke. "Really, well then, allow me to show you who the weak one really is." Robert spoke as he tossed the pokeball, releasing Farrah. Seeing her old trainer, Farrah growled in anger, eager to take him down. The other trainer couldn't sem to stop laughing. "Graveller, toss this jumk out with the rest of his garbage friends. Rock Tomb!" The Graveller raised its foot, getting ready to stomp down.
"Farrah, Energy Ball now!" Robert called out. Before Graveller could finish his move, Farrah let loose a powerful grass energy ball, nailing the graveller for a tremendous amount of damage, fainting it rather quickly.
"What? How is this possible? Fire types can't use grass attacks!" The other trainer sneared. Robert simply smirked. "Shows how much you know. But then agian, you care nothing for your pokemon, so why should it matter to you, you sorry excuse for a trainer." Robert chided. Ash stood silently and watched. He knew this was Robert's battle, and from what he just heard concerning this new trainer, he knew that having Vulpix face her old master and beating him would be the best thing for Vulpix.
"Graveller return. I'll deal with you later. Arbok, Posion Sting that trainer!" Arbok cocked back and let loose a hail of posion needles at Robert. But not a single one touched him. Instead, all of the posion needles seemed to be stopped in mid air. Right in front of him, Lilly stood, her body glowing as her eyes did as well. Using Confusion, she sent the needles back at Arbok before evolving herself into Kirlia. "Alright Lilly. Now, let's show this piece of trash how real trainers fight. Lilly, use Confusion on Arbok!" Lilly did as Robert asked, letting her empowered psychic energies devistate the posion snake with a super effective hit. "Damn you! I'll make you suffer the next time we meet. I, Kira, soon to be the greatest pokemon trainer, do so swear my vengence!'
Robert smirked. "There are no weak pokemon, only weak trainers. And you are as pathetic as they come. And if we ever do meet agian, I'll be sure to mop the floor with you. I, Lewiet, do so swear." Robert mocked. With Kira on the run, Robert pulled out his pokedex. Kirlia, the emotion pokemon. It is highly perceptive of its trainer's feelings. It dances when it is happy Looking at the pokedex, he saw that she had leaned the magical leaf attack.
"Wow, that's great! Your Ralts evolved into a Kirlia!" Ash said. Robert picked up Lilly and smiled. "Wow, you've become quite pretty and strong!" Robert spoke with a smile Thank you master. You're the best trainer any pokemon could ask for she replied telepathically. This caught Robert completely offguard. "You can talk?" He asked, feeling rather confused. Ash looked a bit puzzled, seeing as how he didn't hear Kirlia's telepathy. Yes, but only like this. I can't verbally speak anything in your tongue. But ever since my mind connected with yours, I can translate my words into yours like this Robert smiles and gave Lilly a warm hug. "Wow, this is awesome. And this will make things even easier. We can use this kind of communication in our battles so our opponents won't ever know what attack is comming next. But even moreso, you saved my life Lilly." He spoke before kissing her forehead. Farrah ran up and nuzzled Robert's leg.
Robert knelt down and gently caressed Farrah's cheek. "You did magnificently well Farrah. You showed your old master who the real weakling was." Robert spoke before noticing that she now ha dfour tails instead of two. Robert smiled before returning Farrah to her pokeball.
"Alright, Cerulean City isn't far now. Once we get there, I'll introduce you to Misty." Ash said before heading out of the cave with Robert close behind.
