The flight itself was a little nerve racking. Erik would never openly admit it, but it was quite plain on his face. His feet had never before left the ground for so long and he was quite happy when he finally touched a solid surface again.

"So there," he sniffed. His nose was a bit tingly from the dust. "Now they won't find us."

His mascline pride was lucky that Tinkerbelle concentrated on the catwalk itself so she didn't notice his face. When they finally landed she was beaming, she loved flying but she been doing it since she arrived so of course she loved it.

"Nope!" she said, full of excitement, "So what play are you from?" she asked, a bit curious.

Erik grinned. "The Phantom of the Opera," he answered, covering the bottom half of his face with his cape then flinging it dramatically to the side. "How about you?"

Tinkerbelle grinned and clapped, enjoying the theatics of Erik a lot. She enjoyed the stage, even if she wasn't the best actress, she loved being on stage, being paid attention too.

"Peter Pan!" she called out, smiling at him.

Erik smiled. She was truely enjoying his company, and he was enjoying hers. Was this how the world could really be? It was different inside the book, inside the world he'd come from. He never wanted to go back.

Taking his cape in his hands, he rose up again, with that thought. "Flying is fun," he said. "How long does the magic last?"

Tinkerbelle frowned at the question. To be honest she wasn't sure. In the play it lasted for a while but she didn't know if the same rules applied. Tinkerbelle wasn't completely sure what translated and what didn't. It still worked so would it also last forever?

"I dunno to be honestly. In my play it lasted forever. I think, it's hard to remember. I died before the end." Tinkerbelle admited with a laugh.

"You... died?" Erik wondered for a moment if that was worse than his own fate. He knew his happy thought wouldn't last, so he set himself back down before he could fall. "I'm sorry." It was all he could think of to say. "I'm glad you're not dead here," he insisted, taking her hand and holding it.

He wondered what would be worse, being dead or being lonely, and adjusted his mask self-consciously again.

Tinkerbelle waved it off. Her actual death wasn't that dramtic. She didn't exactly remember since she wasn't around for the end of her play so it got a little confusing to her but she was pretty sure she died befoe the end.

"Thanks, I'm glad I'm not dead ether. Because I like being with you, but it's okay that in the play I died, I mean it was okay in the play. Besides if I die I know how to come back. Someone has to clap, to show they believed in me."

"That's all?" Erik asked, astonished. "That's easy. I could do it. I definitely believe in you," he declared with a nod and smile, then blushed. He turned and with another flick of his cape, he grabbed the bar that was the hand rail of the catwalk slid into a sitting position, feet hanging off the side.

It took him only a moment to gain his composure again and he adjusted his mask and turned to her, motioning that she might sit next to him. "My ending was a little sad too," he admitted, staring down at the stage below.

Tinkerbelle smiled at him warmly, even giggled a little when he blushed. Erik was so funny, she liked it. She moved over and sat next to him. She liked being with people like Erik, they were sweet and a lot of fun.

"Was it? That's too bad, but it's okay, because out here the ending doesn't count. We make our own endings."

Erik smiled. "You're right," he admitted. He wasn't really sure if he could change his ending. Was it really up to him? But the first step he had to take to not end up like his other self was right in front of him, sitting there with pink glittery wings.

"Tinkerbell?" Erik shifted in his spot as he said her name and he reached up again to adjust his mask. "Are we friends now?" he asked, a little shyly.
PostPosted: Wed Aug 13, 2008 9:34 pm

"Of course we are Erik, what else would we be?" Tinkerbelle asked with a warm smile over to him, reaching over and giving the shy boy a hug. She didn't have to be shy to understand it, not to mention she felt he was sometimes lonely like she was. For different reasons of course but they were both lonely.

Tinkerbelle had only a single 'father' who didn't seem that interested in her at all, and Erik had a loving family that he wasn't sure if he could trust just yet. Friends were the best things to reach the spots that family couldn't, or wouldn't, reach.

Erik was relieved, in a way. He knew what the answer would be, somewhere deep in his heart, but his mind wouldn't let him be sure. Now he was. "Can I call you Tink? Like a nickname?" he asked. It would be the symbol of their friendship in his mind. The proof.
PostPosted: Wed Aug 13, 2008 10:14 pm

"Of course! I don't mind at all." Tinkerbelle asured him, but then as if she could see what he wanted she continued to say, "Of course if you want a special nickname you'll need something different." she giggled a little, and mused over a special nickname he could call her.

She wasn't that good at nicknames though. Despite her mild nickname for Beast, as 'Doggy', she didn't really have any for people. Though Tinkerbelle liked the idea of having a special nickname, made her feel important.

"Well," he puffed up his chest a bit. "In my musical, they called me lots of things. The Phantom, Opera Ghost, that kind of thing." He tossed his cape again, then laughed. This laugh was more kind than any laugh he'd laughed so far today. It was born more out of his enjoyment of Tink's company than his own bravado. "But I think I like the name 'Erik' better, for friends at least."
