Tooki turned his head, but didn't open his eyes. He went in the direction he thought the mare had gone. The stallion bumbled just off to the side a bit, trying to remember the word he was supposed to say.
"Marcus...?" Tooki mumbled, unsure if he was playing the game right.

Mel chuckled at him and turned in his direction "Close enough." she yelped as her hoof slipped on the rock it was perched on and swallowed a mouth full of water as her head ducked under the surface. She really needed watch what she was doin before she accidentally drowned herself on of these days.
"Polo" she hadn't noticed how close he was to her until she felt a breeze of air from a quick movement. s**t! she cursed to herself hopping out of striking rang, but causing alot of ruckus while doing so.

Tooki heard the splashing and waded toward it. "Marcus? Can I open my eyes?"
The stallion tried to crack one open, afraid of stepping off into deeper water. He really hoped the mare wouldn't see him peeking, figuring this wasn't really part of the game. He at least wanted to know she wasn't drown yet."Are you alright, Melanie?"

"Not until you catch me" she snickered. Her backside was facing him for the most part as she swam around in the small pool.
Mel looked over she shoulder and raised a brow at his question. "Yeah, of course." Walking backwards, she watched him suspiciously trying to figure out as to why he'd ask that kind of question without seeing her embarrassing slip. Had he been cheating? "Are you giving up so easily?" she teased

"Huh? Oh, no. I heard all the splashing," Tooki closed his eyes tight. He didn't want to ruin the game. He stumbled on a few rocks, bobbing along like a big blue apple until he got his footing. "I thought maybe you got hurt."
The stallion moved to the sound of her voice, trying to locate her, "Um...Marcus?"

Melanie tried to hold in her amusement while she watched him, but a small giggle burst from her mouth. Her eyes widened as she quickly shot to the side of her incase he heard her. He was worried? She tilted her head to the side and watched him for a moment, unmoving. "Thank you." she whispered softly before starting to move again.
Coming up from behind him she grabbed a piece of his tail and gave it a soft tug. "Polo!" she called out.

Tooki turned around and bumped into Melanie, or the best he could with her holding his tail. "Marcus!"
He opened his eyes to see if he'd won or not, then tilted his head. "What was the 'thank you' for?"

Melanie's eyes widened at defeat, but at least she still had ahold of his tail. She mumbled something in response to his question but to her displeasure it came out more like a series of grunts and mumblings, so she dropped his tail from her mouth. Dislodge a couple of loose hairs with her tongue, took a drink of water, then spoke. "It's just nice to be worried about, thats all."

"No one worries about you?" Tooki turned and looked at her, confused. He'd never thought about if anyone ever worried about others. He didn't worry so much, just when in the company of other soquili...or two leggers. "You don't have family that worries?"
The stallion waded a little, heading to the bank of the pool. He shook out his mane once he was on dry land and looked at Melanie. "I often wonder if anyone worries over me...because I travel a lot. My mother would if she knew I planned to go to the mountains. She said Grandmother claims there's monsters."

Mel shook her head slightly. "If I did, I don't remember them." She looked to the sky and noticed the sun had began falling in the sky. Night would be here soon. She stayed in the pool a couple more minutes, debating on whether she really wanted to get out. It would be cold and decided prolonging it would be pointless so she slowly crawled to the side and trotted out.
"I'm sure she missed you alot." she replied with a small smile. "Monsters? What kind of monsters?" It was true she had never traveled to the moutains before so what lie there remained completely new to her. She just hoped if he was going there, he wouldn't run into any of them

Tooki looked up when the mare did, noticing the sky getting darker.He smiled slightly, "The sky is on fire again...the moon flowers will be out soon."
He looked at Melanie, "How come you don't know your parents? Did they leave you with a two legger?"
The stallion thought a moment, then made a simple shrug, "Mother is more worried that my sister is leaving to go to the land my grandmother came from. I'm content to see the lands here...even if some have monsters. Big ones, with white hair. Like big bears...probably are bears. Would you be scared if you saw one?"

Melanie shook her head slightly. She wasn't really sure happened to her parents, she had never seen them. For all she knew she had brother and sisters she didn't know about. "I don't remember much about my infancy. But in my adolescence I was with the two leggers until I couldn't stand it anymore."
She gaped. Did he think her a coward? "No, Of course not." she demanded. "I t would just be a shock at first. Especially since I've never seen anything like that before."

Tooki grinned, circling a bit behind her. "Not even really big monsters? Like...lizard looking ones? What about big bugs?"
The stallion couldn't help but tease Melanie, she was fun. Most mares he'd met seemed skittish, or...not that bright. "I bet you'd never go in the mountains to see a big, hairy monster."

Melanie felt herself cringe slightly at the thought of a huge lizard looking monster, then lifted her head confidently and nodded. "No" she lied.
Turning to meet his gaze her eyes widened slightly. "But I also wouldn't go there looking for one. That's just crazy!" Though she couldn't help but wonder what one of those monster would really look like. Was it curiosity that made him want to travel to the mountains or was he looking for something in particular? "What if something happened to you?"

"Do you think I can't handle myself?" Tooki asked, tilting his head. He'd never heard anyone question his actions before. "I'm not afraid...or crazy. I just want to see something no one else has. Don't you?"
The stallion looked down at his hooves, stamping them a bit, then looked at the mare. "You could come too. Then we could watch out for each other. Make sure no monsters snuck up on us."
