JoJo's eyes widened further at the sudden unnerving silence. He had just enough time to shout "Down!!" when all Hell broke loose in the form of a monstrous funnel cloud that touched down in the forest less than a hundred feet from where they were, tearing up the landscape and uprooting the weaker trees.
He was sort of glad that the tornado had intruded when it did; he hadn't wanted to answer Tolfitken's question. He knew the answer, of course; he was destined to follow the tornado, sprint ahead and warn any other unknowing souls within its destructive path. But how would Tolfitken know that, if she didn't even see how tasteless his mountain-moving remark had been? She probably had no idea of his lot in life, and for all she knew, he would just leave her there in a ditch with dirt in her fur.
He shook his head angrily; the matter at hand was the most important. He did not fear any disaster, and sprinted around the angry funnel with the practiced ease of a dog herding sheep. He spotted the ditch where Tolfitken lay and smiled as he saw the tornado veering off slightly as it neared the fresh gash in the earth; it would miss that spot altogether.

Unfortunately for JoJo, Tolfitken wasn't one to sit still when she knew others were in danger, especially if they happened to be somewhat freinds of hers. As soon as she saw him sprint past her hiding place she tore herself free of the roots and dashed after him. "What are you doing?!" she yelled over the howl of wind, pushing herself as fast as she could to catch up with him. The wind gripped and pulled at her fur, and a few twigs scratched at her as they hurled past propelled by the ferious wind, but there was no way she was turning back if he wasn't.

If JoJo hadn't been so keen on going the entire way around the tornado, he probably would never have seen Tolfitken emerge from her hiding place and chase after him. "What are you doing?! Get back down!" he shouted, his words lost in the tornado's outraged roaring. He could hardly believe that she would be so foolish. A sudden thought struck him; she must think he was in danger and was coming to help.
He bit his lip hard; he was fine, but she didn't know that, and if she continued to come toward him and the storm, she was more and more likely to get hurt. He knew he had to stop her from following, but how?
((She's not going to make this easy for him, is she? XD))

"That's what I was asking!" she yelled back, her sensitive ears just barely picking out his words. The wind's tumult was getting stronger and she had to dig her paws in harder to the ground to keep her footing. Her eyes were serious as she watched him; there was no way she was going back without him, that simple. If he was going to press on in this type of weather then there had to be a good reason for it, and she was bound and determined to help. She winced as another stick struck her ear, but other than that she remained unwavered, her speed still matching his. Her ears went a little farther back as she tried to call out again, wanting him to understand she would not be left behind again, "I'll stay right behind you!"

Tolfitken's shouts were lost on JoJo as the roaring wind filled his ears. All he saw was that she seemed determined to follow him to her destruction. His eyes flashed angrily; didn't she know taht if she got too close to the tornado she would be sucked into the sky and thrown down with enough force to crush her bones to dust? The gruesome image steeled his determination, and he struggled for an idea to stop her.
His gaze suddenly rested on a tree that had been knocked almost to the ground by the pull of the winds. If he hit it once more in just the right spot....... Making up his mind, he diverted his course until he found himself rushing headlong at the tree. With one gigantic leap, he bounded onto the tree's unstable trunk and was rewarded with a crack as the tree began to topple. He had pushed on it in such a way that when it fell, it would block the path Tolfitken was taking. Whether she went around it or not, hopefully she would get the idea. Not bothering to see the tree fall, he turned back to the tornado, now farther away than ever, and sprinted off after it, trying to get ahead and warn any who might still be in its way.

Though it had gone unheard, Tolfitken had been serious when she said 'right behind you'. Veering to follow him over the tree trunk, she half jumped, half fell off of the tree as it shifted under her. She hit the ground and rolled herself onto her feet in one movement, gritting her teeth and digging her paws yet harder into the ground, yelling at the top of her lungs, "I WILL NOT BE LEFT BEHIND AGAIN!!!" Picking up her pace, though her breath ran ragged in her throat she raced until she was right behind him again. "I'll follow you whether you know it or not," she said with her eyes narrowed determinedly, knowing he wouldn't hear it over the wind.

((I think she's starting to make him REALLY mad. oO))
JoJo was just in sight of an area that showed signs of inhabitants when he saw movement out of the corner of his eye. Seeing the all-too-familiar shape of Tolfitken, he bared his teeth in a genuine snarl. Fine, foolish one, he thought, fire in his eyes and coals in his insides. I warned you, now on your own head be it!
Just moments ahead of the tornado, he reached a tall hill and set himself into a position where he was sure to be seen, not caring at this point what it was that Tolfitken did. But no sooner had he set his feet down than the roaring assaulted his senses, and the tornado was upon the area.
JoJo's eyes widened in alarm. No! his mind shouted. He had arrived too late! They hadn't even seen him yet, and he was their only warning.
In his state of shock, the winds knocked him down off of the hill, and he tumbled in a heap below, while the tornado had its way with the area before finally dissipating and raining the last of the debris down upon the ruined landscape.

Tolfitken continued to follow, not caring if she made him mad; she would not desert a friend. And she would not allow herself to be deserted again. She paused in shock to watch the tornado pass through, recognizing it as the place where Treasure and Chaos lived near each other. Pained thoughts racing through her mind, she bolted down the hill, pausing to make sure JoJo was unhurt from his fall and straining to keep herself from dashing into the devastion, "Chaos! Treasure!"
(Hehehe, sorry, they keep appearing in my other rps, so I thought why not here as well, they're just so much fun to rp xd sweatdrop )

JoJo struggled out from the small pile of dirt that had half-buried him when he had fallen. Seeming to see right past Tolfitken, his eyes took in the damage, the devastation. He didn't see any movement but a few stray leaves that had hung on to the last before fluttering down to rest upon the now scarred ground.
His eyes blazed with anger as he turned to Tolfitken. Had his words been able to make it past the lump in his throat, he would have fairly screamed at her. I was supposed to have warned them! I was too late from trying to stop you! If you had just stayed put and trusted me, they would have been able to get away! Why couldn't you have just trusted me?? Why?
The last thought was the first to break free of his painfully constricted throat. "Why?" It was barely above a whisper, but the next came out slightly louder as he looked at Tolfitken with helpless anger. "Why....didn't you trust me?"

Tolfitken looked back at him with much the same look he was giving her, "I could ask you the same thing." She was old enough to take care of herself; and as she had thought a million times before, "I said; I was through being left behind, I determined many people ago that I would not be a burden to anyone any more." Her eyes formed into a cold look that was mainly meant for herself and she turned back to the rubble; it was her freinds that she now had to search for, she wouldn't be a burden to them either. Pushing back her regret at having to say those words out loud to try and make him understand how even if it had killed her she would not have stopped, she plunged into the debris, making her way towards the pond.

((Methinks I'll bring out Romsca too, just to have one more and to have someone explain JoJo's next actions to Tolfitken if necessary.))
JoJo's eyes narrowed in anger as he watched her go, and this time when the words came, he let them. "Yes, let's just go and follow someone headlong into a tornado, never mind that the one who told you to stay put just MIGHT have more of an idea of how destructive a tornado can be! I thought you had more sense than that! Silly me!"
He growled his frustration, and the smug little voice returned. See? THIS is why you can't harbor any thoughts about being with people. You'll just care too much and it'll conflict with your one main purpose in life. She'll never understand.
He watched Tolfitken plunge into the debris, and shaking himself free of the pile of dirt, he climbed the now-smaller hill and looked down on the scene below. His eyes lingered for one moment, then he turned and vanished into the forest.
Down below, Romsca had poked his head out of the pond just in time to see JoJo's dramatic departure. He had been knocked into the pond when the high winds came, and now he scrambled out, hailing Tolfitken as he did. "Hey! Wait there! I'm coming to help!"

"I know about tornadoes!" she scoffed angrily, "My human is going to become a storm-chaser! What do you think they do, follow little old ordinary rain clouds?" She reached the pond just as Romsca emerged, "Oh! Good, Treasure and Chaos are around here somehwere..."
As she spoke another form emerged from a hole in the ground dug underneath a tree, shaking the twigs from her hair and turning to call back to someone, "See? I told you it'd pass like that; just like a water twister on the sea!" Treasure beamed as she looked about, murmuring to herself in awe, "Though I've only seen what it can do to a ship, what it can do to land is a lot more substantial..." She spied Tolfitken and Romsca and darted over, "Aye! Hello there! You out during that?"
Chaos squirmed free of the hole and bounced over to join them, noting Tolfitken's cold attitude and frowning, "Hey, what's wrong? The tornado try to eat you, too?"

Romsca had to restrain himself in order to not leap onto Treasure and hug/squash her when he saw that she was safe. He settled for running toward the trio with a definite air of joy and relief. "I'm so glad you're alright!" He nuzzled up against Treasure momentarily, then looked over at the empty hill. "Hey, wasn't JoJo here? I could have sworn I saw him just after the twister blew through....."

(We could do another one where they meet again called "Marvelous Misunderstandings" xd )
"He went that way," Tolfitken muttered, waving a limp paw in the direction he had gone. She started to slump away, her tail dragging in defeat, "I don't get it; I don't think he understands me at all... It's not like he's making it easy for me to understand him, though..." Glaring at the dirt her paws kicked up as she walked, she almost wished the whole day hadn't happened. Okay, less than almost.
Treasure grinned and hugged Romsca, "I'm glad you are, too." She frowned at the sight of Tolfitken walking away, but as she didn't quite understand the situation, she sat where she was and waited for Chaos to ask the questions as she usually did.
And as she usually did, Chaos bounded after Tolfitken, waggling her ears at Treasure and Romsca to follow. Strangely however, she stayed silent, a look of puzzlement on her face.

((I was actually wanting him to buzz off for a tiny bit to write the whole ordeal in his journal. Maybe he could come back afterwords? Or we could start another, up to you. ^^))
After warmly embracing Treasure, Romsca looked over at Tolfitken with a puzzled expression, and when he was gestured to follow, he trotted up until he was walking right next to Tolfitken. "So he WAS here....why was he late? He told me once that his entire life was based on his predicting things like tornadoes and warning people. He's NEVER late."
