He sneered at that. Broken wind? Ha! He was tempted to tell her right where to go. If only he didn't actually need her help, he would have flown off ages ago. As it were, he was stuck listening to her and doing what she said.

Steeling himself, he started up the path after her. It was hell on his wing, but he gritted his teeth and kept on going. Being a stocky stallion, it wasn't as easy going for him once they reached the more dangerous part of the path, but while he had to slow down and take each step carefully, he climbed the rocky slope, his head held high.

The sound of the water grew loader once more and she carefully doe leaped over the rushing water that flowed from inside the rocks. She didn't understand how it all worked, but knew she was on the right path and thus into her territory.

She waited for him to finally catch up and stood looking out over the grounds, seeing the small valleys and plateaus that was the best her herd had to offer. Even the best fruit trees grew this far up in the altitude. Even with mister grumpy-pants back there, her spirits soared and she felt a smile finally tug on her maw. Home always had this effect on her.
"Isn't it beautiful," she asked him as he approached.

It took a moment, but soon he reached her. This was ridiculous. He should have been able to fly up here, not forced to trudge up there like a pack mule!

Heaving a great sigh, he looked out over the grounds, surveying it. "It's.. satisfactory," he murmured. Auster lived in the depths of the forest, where fog and mist were common. He loved to run though the trees and the thick dense forest barely allowed for any light. Also... People rarely wandered into there. He didn't have to worry about being bothered by others. The angeni lived alone, he didn't have a herd like Windstorm. Though... While he would never admit it, he was curious to see her herd and how they interacted with each other.

She didn't even allow his dry comment to ruin her spirits. She was home again, even if she ventured from it rarely, it was where she had grown up, where most of her family lived. It was the only place she felt she belonged. "We should get you to that two-legged before the bone mends itself improperly."

She led the rest of the way into the herd grounds, giving casual nods to the few she crossed paths. There was Lena, Nimbus, and Zhuri. She stopped momentarily to ask Zhuri where she might find her grandfather later and he was nice enough to say he would find him and request him to seek her at the healing motherhood grounds.

She stopped a little bit longer to converse with her father and mother. She saw the strange look her dad, Wild Wind, was giving the Angeni, almost like he was a bit disproving. She didn't understand it, but at least her family wouldn't worry about her being lost somewhere. And then they were off again.
"My father doesn't like you," she finally said after a few moments of silence.

Auster followed her, never speaking. He watched in silence as Wildstorm spoke to the other members of her herd. He was mildly amused by the variant coat colours and personalities, but never amused enough to speak or even acknowledge them with a nod. This wasn't his herd. These weren't horses he knew. He didn't see the point in playing nice. Wasn't that something you did when you wanted something? Auster wanted nothing from these horses, other than to have his wing set so he could be on his not so merry way.

He watched unblinkingly as Windstorm spoke to her parents, his ear flicking occasionally. He wasn't seeking their approval, so again, why should he bother to speak to them? Its not like he had anything to say.

He followed her as she moved on, his head still high as he did. When she spoke and said that her father disliked him, Auster dismissed it. "He's entitled to do whatever he wants, I suppose," he replied, not really bothered by it. He didn't like others, and they didn't particularly like him either usually. "I feel that you aren't exactly the most fond of myself either, so why should he be?"

She glanced back at him over her shoulder. "Normally my dad doesn't make judgment on those with wings," she said dismissively. She secretly thought it was funny that he could put so many off with just his loner demeanor.

But at his next question, she was glad he was lagging behind as her laughter started to bubble out into a coughing fit. She wasn't sure what she thought about it, she thought honestly. He didn't back down to her challenging attitude or seemed like a love-struck yearling colt, a change. She ruffled her feathers before giving her answer.
"Your company has been a bit brash, but nothing so terrible as a night with a kalona." He could take it however he'd like.

The smells changed as they came closer to where the two-legged had claimed as her home. She sent out a calling nicker, letting the woman know she had company as they stopped and waited for her to come out.

He still seemed unphased. He honestly couldn't care less that Windstorm's father disliked him. It's not like he would be here long anyway. He'd just avoid the stallion. Nothing lost on his part.

He frowned at her coughing. "If you say so," he replied, following her towards the two-legger's, even if he particularly did not want to. He just kept reminding himself that he needed to do this, for the sake of his wing.

User Image An eerie mare peaked out from behind the two-legger's teepee. She snorted and pawed her feet while the gesture wasn't exactly welcoming, she didn't seem to be aggressive. The quit Tisiphone new of Balrog and Stormwild's herd and relaxed even more when the flap to the dwelling opened.

Kamiki Ahawi smiled a greeting towards the young mare, coming up to her and petting her nose. Her gaze turned towards her companion and her eyes widened. Never had she seen an Angeni in person... at least not this close. She saw a few around the land, flying in the great distance.

Auster's white-tipped ear flicked as he looked around, a blank expression on his face. When he spotted the black and orange mare, he gazed at her evenly, that is, until the two-legger stepped out of the tent and he turned his attention to her, snorting as she stared. "Something wrong with my face, two-legger?" he asked gruffly, shifting his weight as he looked down his long snout at her. He disliked two-leggers even more than he disliked other horses.

Windstorm let out a nickering giggle, allowing Kamiki to touch her muzzle briefly before stepping around to Auster's injured side. "She's used to Winds, but nothing like you." She pawed at the ground and gave a very loud snort. She stretched her neck down and lightly sniffed at his broken wing, hoping that was enough of a sign for the woman to take a look. It was always so hard to explain a simple matter to a being that didn't understand their language.

The Indian woman sensed the distrust in the Angeni, but seeing Windstorm nuzzle at the wing she slowly and carefully approached the stallion. "Don't worry, I'm here to help," she smoothed. The looked over the limb and frowned. It looked misshapen, but the extent of the damage wouldn't be able to be seen without closer examination. "It's okay," she said as she carefully set her hands on the top of the wing, letting her fingers probe gently under the feathers.

He snorted at them both, his tail flicking irritably, ears laid back. He loathed himself for letting her run her fingers over his precious wing. Cursing his stupidity for flying in the storm, the storm itself, and all two-leggers, he hissed and jerked away, a gesture he immediately regretted as the sharp pain he was soon becoming familiar with shot up the limb. "Son of a--"

Windstorm instantly moved out of Kamiki's way to the other side of Auster. She didn't think she would be of much use now and was about to walk away when the Angeni tried to keep the two-legger from doing her job. So she did the only thing she could think of, pressing the length of her body against his to keep him from stepping away.

She stared at him with a very small, almost unnoticeable smile.
"It can't hurt as much as when I checked you out." She was making it a joke.

He sighed, lowering his head for the first time. He felt like he was caught between a rock and a hard place, actually, the mare and the two-legger healer could possibly be worse. He glowered at Windstorm before closing his eyes to the pain. "Not at the moment, no."

She watched as the two-legger began to clip some of his feathers away. She turned away, unable to watch him lose his feathers. So she didn't see when a stick was placed against the broken bone to help it mend properly. Her violet eyes glanced back to see the white cloth being wrapped around his poor bald limb.

He wasn't going to be happy about losing those feathers at all, but she had been completely unprepared for just that sort to happen.
"My apologizes for her having to take some of your pride off. They'll grow back," she said with certainty--even if she wasn't.
