Syd sighed, reaching into his pocket. He felt around the rectangular shape that was his cigarette pack, and he twitched as he felt that it was empty. He continued walking, though now a little bit faster, torwards the girl. He now felt that he needed to go home, wash his hands and face, change his clothes and tend to his wounds, and of course, get some cigarettes. He sighed, wouldn't the girl be mad? Wait, she was a figment of his drug induced imagination...He sighed, looking to Calum and sighing, "Do you mind if we stop by my house?"

Calum felt like he was drowning in his thoughts. Phrases from books he'd read in the past flashed forward in no real order. Jumbled together with thoughts of his own from the past few days, and the dark thoughts created from the beast that lurked within him. Syd's question was like a lifeline. His mind wrapped around it, shakily forcing everything that was needed back where it belonged. "No, I don't mind." He closed his eyes and allowed himself a mental sigh. He could not wait till the full moon had come and gone again. Then he could restore some form of order in his life.

Syd smiled, "Oh, thanks...it won't be long...I just need to get something." Syd turned, ignoring the girl beckoning him. They weren't very far from the place Syd lived, and where Niraj and a few of his friends lived, only about half a mile, which, since Syd walked fast, didn't take him long at all. He was glad that Calum could keep up. Soon, they got to it, a medium sized blot of civilzation on the Island of Namiah. Everyone gathered there that had been 'owned' by Kranky, but, most lived else where, there were only four who lived there now, not including Sydney. He frowned a little, seeing lights on in the house, meaning people were there, and awake, which was the opposite of what he hoped for. He lead Calum to the house and then up the stairs and to the door, "Well...uhm, come in, I guess." He said while slowly opening the door, "You can wait in the living room." He looked around, his ears flattened back, as he looked each way for someone. He sighed, relieved, the coast was clear. He lead Calum in, and pointed to the living room, "There..." He murmered as he started for a flight of stairs before he bumped into a colorful someone, and he frowned.
"Jesus, what the hell happened to you?" The boy said, looking Syd up and down.
"Nothing." Syd said as he began to climb the stairs.
The boy, wearing pajamas that were a few sizes too big, Niraj sighed, and looked at Calum, he turned back, scurrying over to the bottom of the stairs. "Is this your boyfriend?" A loud 'no' was heard from up stairs and a shoe was thrown at Niraj. Soon, running water was heard, along with various yells, including, "Where the hell were you?", "Shut up, I'm sleeping!" and; "Jesuschrist. What the hell? Who ate your a**? Did you fall down a hill? Did you try killing yourself? Did you have a mental breakdown? What the hell?", which was issued from a very loud and obnoxious sounding girl. Niraj remained at the bottom of the stairs, leaning against the wall and staring at Calum. "Hi."

Calum followed Syd into the house, feeling awkward in the unfamiliar environment. He always felt like he was intruding when went into others homes, even when invited in. When shown into the living room, he chose to stand in an area where he could have his back against the wall and be away from anything he might break. His hands twitched rapidly in his pocket as his eyes roam over the room, the beast in him noting any exits. When his gaze landed on Niraj, he blinked and tried to figure out if Niraj was a boy or a girl. "Hello."

Niraj bit his lip, hoping Calum wasn't one of Syd's random speed freak friends. But, he didn't look like one, so, maybe it was just some guy. He sighed, crossing his arms before pushing himself off the wall and going into the kitchen, where he was originally headed.
Eventually, Syd came down, looking as good as new. He looked at Calum and sighed, "So...lets go..." He said, quietly, opening the front door and waiting for Calum.

Calum couldn't help but wonder if he somehow offended the boy, err girl...person. Shaking it off, he began to rock on the heels of his feet since no one was around to see him. Before he was bitten, he used to pride himself on his patience. But since the beast took up inhabitance in him, he becomes antsy easily.
He froze in mid rock when Syd came back downstairs, a small part of him hoping he hadn't been seen doing something that he considered childish. Calum silently slipped out of the door in front of Syd, his tail twitching behind him.

Syd smiled a very slightly to himself, he'd caught Calum rocking, thinking it was quirky, in a good way.
His tail swished as he followed Calum, closing the door. He seemed a little hyper now, excitied to be going somewhere with someone who wasn't Niraj. "That kid..." He said, walking down the stairs that lead to the porch, "He didn't bug you too much, did he? He thinks it's weird when I bring someone in..." He sighed, "Anyways...wanna go to a bar or something? I don't care where we go actually..."

Calum's mind latched onto the "he" and quickly filed it away. The gender mystery was solved. "No, he did not bother me. And as long as we keep moving, I don't care where we go either." He paused and eyed Syd, looking for any sign that his wounds might be bothingering him. "How are your wounds?"

Syd sighed, "Hmm, I suppose we'll just walk then." he said, "And thats good...he scares people sometimes." He laughed, flicking an ear at Calum. "Oh...they hurt a little, but, not too bad, my fingers are the worse, but I took pain killers...and, well, I don't need my fingers to walk."

Calum smiled a little at Syd's laugh, but the smile was quickly hidden away again. "Walk until we can walk no more?" He gazed off into the woods, wonder how far they could walk. His ears flicked rapidly, listening to the sounds of the night as everything seemed to have come alive while in the house.

Syd looked at Calum and grinned, "Yeah, until our legs fall off." He laughed, listening to a bug chirping somewhere to their left. He loved the sounds of the night, so much better than the day. He had a fond memory when he and his cousin were in a field in Iceland when they were children, it was on a farm that his family was visiting, and somewhere off in the distance, someone was crooning to the moon. They two boys sat and listened for a while, humming along. He smiled to himself, feeling warm inside.

"Don't really need legs anyway." An odd sort of calm settled over Calum. The dark thughts he had been working to block slipped off to whatever dark corner they came out of, and everything else in his mind fell back into order. It felt wierd for him to finaly be able to relax, he hadn't been able to do that in what felt like ages. Maybe it was lack of sleep catching up with him? Or maybe it was the pleasant company? He'd have to think more about it at a later time. "So which way do we go?"

Syd frowned at the thought of not having legs, "Aw, come on...think of all the things legs do, it was legs and aposable thumbs that has allowed mankind to evolve, you know. Just legs and thumbs. And, it's a proven fact that legs are the most attractive part on a body, man or woman." He laughed, "Though...I'm not sure, depends on the person's face for me. And, personality, but...whatever. We all know that relationships aren't based solely on personality." He thought for a moment, "I don't know...straight?"

"If I didn't have legs it would be easier for people to get away..." Calum shook his head, determined to enjoy the calmness while he had it. "Straight it is then?" He began to walk forward, his hands sliding out of his pockets. They're twitching having calmed some what. "Where did you hear about legs being the most attractive part of the body?" He looked down at his own legs as he walked, barely looking up in time to dodge being smacked in the face by a low hanging branch.

Syd raised a brow and flicked and ear, "What...?" He shook his head, "Yeah, straight." He bit his lip, "Wull...uh...actually..." He laughed, "It's based on the personal opinions of a few friends and I. I figure if three out of three like legs, then, maybe the rest of the world is like that." He frowned, "It's stupid, to think that way, though."
