As she ate the rabbit, she wondered what to do now. They could go back to the lake, and possibly not drown in it either. Swallowing down one last bite, she paused for a second before talking.
"So...Gintoki, what do you want to do now?"
She glanced at Gintoki and grinned as he nibbled away at the rabbit legs. She internally laughed at his eating.

Gintoki finished eating and licked his lips trying to clean himself. When he was done, (and still quite messy) he looked at Ismene. When she asked him what he wanted to do next, he simply plopped down by her feet and closed his eyes.
"Sleep."

Wow. How straight-forward. She commented to herself. As Gintoki went to sleep, she smiled and first went off to clean up. "I'll be back in a second. If you want to come, just find me!" She hastily announced as she ran off into the forest, heading for water to wash off the remnants of their meal.

Gintoki mumbled an incoherent reply. After a while, he realized sleeping the the middle of the forest was no good, and wandered around looking for an alcove. He found one, snuggled in and went off to sleep.

Rushing through the trees, she arrived at the lake. Unable to see or smell the scent of Gintoki nearby, she thought he continued to slumber in the opening field she left him in. As she washed herself for a quick second, she started to ponder if she shouldn't have left the lil'one alone. She scoffed. He wanted to rest, so why bother him and not let him lie where he is?
She walked back to the opening and noticed he was not in site. "You got to be kidding...." She mumbled to herself. Her mind was full of worry. Where would a sleeping pup wander off too? Do dragonflies even walk in their sleep?! Or did a bear eat him? All these thoughts ran through her mind. She began to panic. Running around the area, she began to call his name repeatedly.

Gintoki was sleeping rather peacefully. But he was woken by someone shouting out his name. He opened his eyes still waking from sleep and peeked his head out from the hole. There he could see the faint red dragonfly running around shouting. He shouted back best he could, "Here! Here!"

Ismene's ears perked up. The sound of a small voice drifted into her ear. 'Gintoki' She thought. Running to the sound of the voice, she found herself in front of an alcove. She gave it one look. It was somewhat small. As she got closer, she saw the indication of the pup. Its shiny coat.
Glancing at him, she had so much to say, to yell, to cry at him. And to express her emotions, she pat him on the forehead. The thought of doing anything that would harm him and get the idea not to disappear anymore through his head, disappeared. She smiled softly and tilted her head, tears beginning to be visible in her eyes.
"D-don't do that again okay?" She said, continuing to pat his head.

Gintoki saw Ismene rush towards him. When Ismene managed to get in front of him, he saw the look on her face and immediately felt bad.
"Sorry..." he whispered. This was the last thing he had wanted to do to Ismene after all she had done for him. He waddled up to her and snuggled against her leg. He wanted to make her feel better.

She continued to pat his head, as in a trance. Patting harder each time. Not much went through her head. Except for one word. 'Idiot' Of course she was annoyed in the inside. But she decided to pound it in him to prove her point a little bit.
Hearing his apology, she paused and stared at him. A faint smile grew across her face. "It's okay." She replied. I'll beat you up later for it, though.' Thought Ismene. She shook her head and tucked the thought into a little crevasse in her mind for later. Nuzzling into him, she sat down to rest for a bit. Taking care of a pup like him was hard enough. She began to drift off not long after thinking about how it would be caring for other pups in the future.

Gintoki let Ismene pat his head. He felt his head hurt after a while, but decided not to say anything. He deserved it anyways.
After she fell asleep, Gintoki snuggled against Ismene and fell asleep as well.

(yay timeskip xD)
Days grew as Ismene spent her time with Gintoki. She sighed as she remembered the day, which was not so long ago, that he fell into the lake. Shaking her head, she continued down the path in the forest, looking for something to eat. She turned her head now and then to see if she could either spot Gintoki or some other creature. She groaned. "Gintoki...where are you?"

((He evolved man xD)) "I'm over here." a lazy voice rang out. He was perched up on a large branch looking at Ismene down below. He was now a teen-lazier than he had ever been and he was more prone to getting in trouble. "The ground was wet...so I moved up here." he grinned, "Cool isn't it?"

((xD))
She scowled. How the hell did he have time to get up there? She shook her head. Nevermind that. The important thing was she found him. "Get back down here." Ismene demanded. She patted the ground floor. It was barely moist. "So many excuses...hmph." She mumbled under her breath. All in the meanwhile a thought went through her head, 'Ah...I really miss those pup days...'

He pouted, "Do I have to?" he whined, "I just got comfortable." Gintoki wondered why she was so moody lately. After all, he didn't do anything wrong, right? He was just being his wonderful, lazy self. He looked down at Ismene and grinned at her mischievously, "If you want me to come down, you'll have to force me too."

She frowned. She wondered when this kid she was watching got so snarky. Her frown deepened even more at his 'force me down' comment. Walking around the tree, she looked if there was anyway up for someone of her stature to get up there. She changed her mind after seeing how high he was.'Oh hell no. I'm not going up there.' Deciding on another option, she sighed deeply. Oh how this decision would pain her for hours on end.
She moved a far distance from the tree and waited calmly. "I'm warning you. You'd better get down from there! Ismene yelled to the tree, still able to see the shiny teen in it.
