"Where? Because I know this totally rad place in the forest!" Blake jumped up at the thought. It was his favorite place because it was always dark, but there was this lake in the middle that gave off this really awesome glow.

Blake's enthusiasm sparked Candi's and she bounced excitedly, her eyes sparlking.

Blake nodded and began towards the forest. He knew right where he was going, mostly because he visited there a lot.

Candi followed beside him excitedly, wondering where they were going. Maybe it would be a spooky place in the forest, with scary looking trees and gravestones! Or maybe it would be cool area with big winding trees that you could climb in, or maybe...her mind raced with all the things it could be, off somewhere in her own little world.

Blake walked with her deep into the forest. It got darker as the went, the sun unable to break through the leaves and trunks of the surrounding trees. After a short while of walking there was a break in the thick wood. Blake walked out into a dark and lush forest glade. Small golden flowers let off a strange glow that lit the place with an eerie light. A small pond sat pure and still in the center with a large mossy rock hanging over it on the right. Fireflys glittered about basking in the cool morning air. It was beautiful, untouched, and still very eerie how lit the place seemed in the dark.
"Here we are..."

Candi's eyes adjusted perfectly in the dark as they walked through the dense forest. Her mind was still wandering a little, until they came to the break in the trees. Candi's eyes widened as she took in the glow from the flowers and the fireflies. She looked at the pond, beautiful and also eerie from the light. It was the coolest place she had ever seen.
"Wow!" she said, still taking it all in. "How did you find this place? It's awesome!"

Blake laughed, "Well when I said I did a lot of walking, I meant it. I found this place years ago, it's kinda like my sanctuary..." In all reality, there was a big history in the glade they were in. A big history between Blake and this place.
"What's really cool, is that the flowers change colors. They're like chameleons." He touched one with his paw, the glowing yellow flower changing to a jade green with a small stitch pattern, "See? Weird huh?"

Candi watched in amazement as the flower changed colors, but kept the beautiful glow. It was beautiful. The whole place was amazing. She reached her paw out towards a flower and watched the glow change to a dark black, with little orange, yellow, and white spots. She grinned.
"Wow! It is weird. How awesome! Thanks for bringing me here! I guess you come here a lot?"

Blake watched Candi's flower and let out a small "dude". He then nodded at her next question, "Yeah. Every day that I can get out, I make sure to at least stop by. It's like my home y'know?"

"Wow...must be nice...to live here," she breathed and then wandered over to the little pond, looking out at the water. She dipped her paw into it swirled it around, making ripples in the water.

Blake nodded following her and looking into the water. It looked like a sheet of glass, like a mirror. Well until the ripples broke the stillness.
"I don't really live here. That'd be too lonely. But it's a cool place to hang out in." He'd never actually inspected the pond. His experiences with water was that it was always cold and wet. Blake didn't like to be cold or wet so he tended to avoid water.

"Oh..." she said as she thought about it. He was right, it was a beautiful place, but it would get lonely without having someone to share it with. Of course...living anywhere by yourself was lonely.
"Right, I forgot you had roommates," she said, nodding her head, her paw still absentmindedly swirling the cool water. She wished she had roommates. She had lived with someone once...but...she shook her head, not wanting to think about that. It's not like it mattered, she was over that, but it was still more pleasant to just forget.

He nodded, "Yeah, and most of them are alright. But I've noticed we've all got something in common...We've all kinda got our darkness, inner demons and such...So even if this sounds totally cheesy, it's like it was fate y'know?" It seemed fate enough to Blake. They all had things they needed to change or to learn and it felt to him like they could only do it with each other.
"What about you Candi? Do you believe in fate?"

Fate. Candi thought about what he was saying, keeping her eyes focused on a point in the water, even though she wasn't really looking at it.
She had never thought about fate before. She had to admit, it was a lot easier thinking about things that way. If things happen for a reason, then all things must work themselves out eventually. Or maybe that was just her optimistic way to look at it. She wasn't sure. Finally she answered him.
"I'm not sure..." she started, "I hadn't really thought about it before, but I guess it makes sense if you think about it. And...it's a lot easier to believe that way. But...I don't know...what if you could mess up fate? Or change it? What if something was supposed to be, but I...someone messed it up?" She wasn't really sure where she was going with this...just letting her thoughts wander out loud. She decided to stop there.
