Keary swatted away the girl's hand. "What was that for? One of what?" This was starting to get annoying. Perhaps he should look for something else to play with. Earth raised both hands and made a pulling motion toward himself. The rock he had ridden moved toward him and both halves jumped onto it.

"You're one of the intercourt children!" I cried. "Oh, damn... what was your name... Goddess, I'm terrible with names. Think, think, think." I hit myself on the forehead repeatedly. "Keary!" I cried. "Yes, yes, Keary... Goddess, I can't remember your last name! It was in the paper... or something... Whenever the intercourt children scandal first surface all those years ago."

"Oh, is that all? Yes. I am Keary." They reply, still giving no surname. Keary preferred not to use one. "You say it with such surprise. It is not really so important. Who are you? You both know my name; I should know yours." He decided not to rush off after all. He kept his bare feet planted on the rock, looking down upon these girls he had encountered. It seemed whenever one of them spoke, he had a new question.

"I'm Darcy." I said and then proceeded to shrink into the shadows, I popped back Up from behind both Keary's. Water flouted out of the pond and began a water works show around us.

I tried not to laugh. The stance reminded me oddly of Peter Pan. "Um, I'm... I'm Rebecca Tines." Once again, I was grateful for his non-recognition. "And yeah, it is important," I said. "You know how much of a stir you're causing in the Court?" You're taking the attention off of me, though, I thought.

"The Court is irrelevant. It has nothing to do with me." Fire looked uneasily at the water as it flowed around the trio. The cooling effect made his shirtless torso put off a light wisp of steam. After realizing he was not about to be doused, Keary became more interested. He stood back to back with himself to see more of the water at once. "This is entertaining. Have it your way then; this is more interesting than burning toads. For now."

i grinned and brought the water close enough to spray gently on his bare skin. It grew higher and bigger. More sparatic and intricate, weaving in and out of it's self. "You can do this with fire too, y'know"

"The Court isn't irrelevent!" I cried. "You belong in one of the two minor courts. You've made a big impact in the overall Court, Keary! Yours and four others' births have tipped the scales! I think that applies to you at least a little bit!"
((Anabel, I promise we're not ignoring you razz ))

Why should the Court be important to him? This girl did not seem to be very fun like the other. With a stamp of his foot, earth Keary sent his rock into the ground. "Of course I know what I can do." Keary replies to Darcy. "But I can not move water. It was a compliment; you should be pleased. I do not give them often.
Fire Keary took in a deep breath and dropped into a crouch, his stance spread wide. Earth took a few steps back and dropped into a similar stance. And without another word, fire began to dance. Fire sparked from his fingers, he kicked jets of flame into the air. As his body moved, each flame circled and danced with him, forming sinuous shapes just within where the water circled. He made a dragon, a school of fish, a flock of birds, anything he could think of.
Meanwhile, earth shifted very slightly and shot out an arm. Rings of earth formed just above the ground. Earth raised his arms, bringing the rings higher to form a little obstacle course for the flitting flame creatures he'd created. He shifted his stance again, making much slower, more steady movements than his dancing fire counterpart. He made targets to destroy, obstacles to dodge.

I raised an eyebrow at the spectacle Keary was putting on, and wondered if he was just showing off or if he was just doing this for the pure purpose of entertainment. "He seems too relaxed for someone that has the weight of the entire Court on their shoulders," I muttered to Darcy.

"He's just a boy, he doesn't know yet." The warmth from the fire was soothing and relaxing, but too much heat would nock me flat on my a**. I was getting extremely sleepy, The water stopped moving and hung in the air, waiting to fall or be put back. I watched the dancing flames and collapsed. The water hung in the air for a split second, but fell just as I hit the rock.

Keary dropped what he was doing and fire glared at Darcy even as the moisture evaporated from his skin. His frown deepened and even earth's smile shrunk a bit. "Very funny. Shall I try now?" And then earth does grin wide. He stomps his way toward Darcy, little rocks rising at every step. Then he outstretched his arms and, one by one, the rocks shot into the lake at high speed and splashed the girls.

I opened my eyes and realized i was rather wet. I closed my eyes again. "Thanks kid!" I get up and look at Fire Keary, "Think you could dry me off without puting me back to sleep?"
