All state (in october, november)
Ummm in the band room, you have as many chances as you want (i should know) and its the most nerve racking in my opinion
All southern (in december)
Ummm in schools around so cal they have auditions and you get a time, practice until you are ready, and head in and show them what you've got! The most exciting and fun one of the the two.
Lemme tell you right now
SIGHTREADING IS HARD
hahaha yea but as long as you do these two things you pass
PLAY IN THE RIGHT KEY SIGNATURE
PLAY AT A STEADY TEMPO
DYNAMIC!!!!
PLAY THE NOTES AS THERE EQUIVALENT VALUE (e.g. 8th notes 1-and 16th notes 1-e-and-a)
and your fine smile
Oh and sightreading is one of the pieces you are to play in the concert (well at least for Phantom biggrin )

I JUST HOPE I NEVER HAVE TO PLAY SONATA FOR VIOLIN BY HANDEL EVER AGAIN!!!! (AKA the SONG OF DEATH!!!!)
EVER!!!
But I have to learn Sonatina for Violin and ANOTHER Sonata for Violin...

I did and i have to say.
Its easier then last years audition.
Pan was 10x harder.
Sicilinne, was easier...

*tears* I only know the first line. The first part of the peice is moderato but the other half is pretso!!!! not even vivace!!!!!
i have to go super fast with notes that will make my fingers hurt and my lips feel numb!!! i've tried it!!!! i can't even do the first line without messing up1!!!

It was also sad how that guy did pretty good but all the comments critisize him and how it should have been better.
