Amia held onto Bakura tightly(not enough to hurt lol) and she smiled softly at the thought of his hand touching her smooth one. her Jackal was at the horses side, determined not to loose it's mistress. Amia rested her head on Bakura's back, she was still exhausted from her travels and their fight had drained her even more. she closed her eyes, nothing really mattered now that she knew that Bakura was alive. she would fight to defend him and stay by his side just like he had done all those years ago.

Atem shook his head "that wasn't what I was talking about..... you lied to me about hiding your feelings.... you say you don't but I know better. Amme please don't shut me out. I want to be here to comfort you and help you whenever I can. but if you lock me out how can I?" he said softly as he took her hand in a friendly manner.

Amme looked down. She couldn't leave, she couldn't tell him to leave- she couldn't run this time. She shuffled her foot a bit, thinking of what to say. "But your the Pharoah," she started to say, "your supposed to care and comfort your people- which you do. I think that's more important then wasting your time on me....." She felt horrible about continuing to push him away. The more she thought about it, the more she actually felt like she needed to be comforted. She felt her heart sink low. She walked over to him and sat next to him. She still didn't look at him but she lifted her head up. "I know I shouldn't push you away- that I shouldn't hide from you. And I am grateful to you- all titles aside, as a friend. But I have a horrible ache in my heart that hasn't healed in all these years. I don't let you in because it could bring you down as well," she said as she lowered her head again. Her throat tightened, she choked up a bit. She put her hands on her head, this was the most she ever opened up to anybody- and the more she did so the more she felt like crying. She hadden't cried since that day.

Bakura rode into the desert- always in front of his men since he was the fastest of them all. He rode like the dark winds of the night. His head still wasn't clear- this was all so sudden to him. Logically, he should be happy- he believed he was. But it was so long since he was happy that he couldn't tell what that felt like. He took a free hand to put over her hands that held him. This was the girl that he spent his shortlived childhood with- the one he thought died- and now she was here and well alive. But his hate toward those who did this to his village still swarmed in his heart. But at least they didn't take everything from him. What life had she lived? Sure, she was the Desert Dragon, but where did she live? Who was there for her? Thisis what upset Bakura the most- he wasn't there. He left her. They arrived at the base and Bakura jumped off. "This is it," he said briefly. A black jackle growled as they approached the enterence. "Down boy," he said and the jackle laid down- wagging his tail a bit. The jackle then looked over at Starlight- he immediately jumped up and ran toward her- wagging his tail and ready to play. "Great watch you are....." Bakura mummbled.

Amia laughed as she got off the horse and smiled at the Jackals "well it's been a long time since they've seen each other. but now you have more than one to watch your base." she ran her fingers through her hair as she stretched. she then looked at the entrance "It's nice to have a home again." she then looked at Bakura "I know it's still a shock for you, it is for me too... but I still can't forgive them for what they've done to our people." she walked up beside him "so now we fight them together instead of separately."

Atem looked at her and hugged her gently "you mean more to me that just someone else in the palace or a friend. you can't let your emotions be bottled up inside. it's not healthy.... just let it out. I wont think any less of you Ammeterasue." he smiled softly. "and it wont bring me down. you need someone to open up to. we all do."

Bakura smirked as he thought about fighting against those royal bastards. "Yes," he said. That's all he ever did was plan out attacks on the palace. He looked up at Amia- she did look kind of tired though- that was probably why she rested her head on his back. "Come, I'll show you the inside," he said. He took her hand as they walked inside. He looked at his hand realizing what he did and let go. He guessed it was a habit from his childhood and hers. "I'm glad your alive too," he said realizing also that he hadn't real said that to her yet. He was, he felt better with her there now. They entered to see many of Bakura's men all about. Most were relaxing, drinking, or rough-housing around. The men looked up to see their King with a new woman.

"Ah Bakura, I see you stole more then just treasure," a man from the group said as the others laughed, "so your going to make her your property?"

Bakura walked up to the man who said it and slugged him in the face. He then grabbed the man's shirt collar and brought a knife to his throat. "I would twice before letting that tongue of yours out again. Got it?" he said in a dark tone. Usually he would just kill somebody for saying such things- not this time. He pulled away from the man and began to head toward a room. "Come on Amia," he said. Stupid primitive swine of men he had under him.

Amme felt very close to crying. She gripped part of the cloth that laid on her legs. "I never thanked you when we were kids. The first day we met. I never thanked you for being there nor have I ever thanked you for any other time. I want you to know that I was grateful for them. And.... thank you...." she said as she leaned into the hug. [[sorry Amme's response is short @_o]]

Amia looked at the men darkly, her blue eyes showing malice. she then followed Bakura "I would have loved to cut his tongue out...." she then laughed quietly. she would teach them a lesson tomorrow. for she was way to tired to deal with them right now. "the reason why i'm so tired is because i've been traveling for so long without rest.... i never had much luck with men so i don't trust them, other than you. You're the only one I'll probably will ever trust again." she smiled as he led her into a vacant room.

[[lol tis ok not much for her to do there XD]]
Atem hugged her close "I'll always be here for you, you know that. and doesn't it feel much better to let your sadness out?" he lifted her chin up gently and smiled sweetly as he looked into her eyes with his dark violet ones.

Bakura smirked when she said she would have liked to see him cut out his tongue. At least she wasn't a push over- she was very able to take care of herself. They entered the room. This particular room was Bakura's. It was a room with black walls and dark red carpet. The couches were of black leather and the table was silver. His bed was here too- black wood with red sheets. The bed looked very comfortable- as if you could sink into it. There were countless wooden chests- filed with stolen goods. As well as gold that was near them. Black candles lit his room dimmly- giving it a comfortable yet twisted feel. "What do you mean?" he said as he turned around to look at her. "What do you mean 'again'?" he questioned when she said she could trust men again. Did something happen? He knew what man could do so he worried.

Amme turned toward him and hugged him tightly. She bursted out crying. "I miss my parents! Why did they have to die and leave me alone? Why did people have to go and kill them?" she said through her weeps. "I'm sorry I ran away from you all these years. Atem, I don't want to be lonely anymore," she added. Her feelings flooding out like an ocean. She buried her face into his shoulder. She needed to do this for so long. As she did, she mummbled, "I'm sorry," lowly multiple times.

Amia smiled "i meant you.... as for trusting others I highly doubt it.." she looked around and felt relaxed and at peace "Your room is very nice. it has a relaxing feel about it." she saw the large bed and blushed slightly, for the first time where he could see, even under the dim lights since her skin was light as it was. "u-ummmm do i sleep on the couch or bed?" she asked shyly. she rarely had a shy side but now that she was older and she knew Bakura was still alive..... new feelings for him, began to whelm inside her that she couldn't quite understand... new feelings, unusual to the ones she had as a child or even as she grew older.

Atem smiled softly and stroked her head "shhhshhh it's ok, everything will be ok.... as for your parents, they didn't have a choice. they were killed by another who was consumed by malice.... it was an unfortunate accident, but they would want you to be happy.." he said the last phrase softly and looked into her eyes.

"Oh," he said in a sigh of relief. He would have slaughtered the man that hurt her- along with their family and neighbors..... village.... Nobody was to mess with her or they would pay the ultimate price. He felt overly protective of her now- which was no shock really. She was his best friend as a child and he treasured the jackle who was also his friend. It was perfectly logical for him to feel close to her. Not that he was arguing it. "You can sleep in the bed," he said. He didn't smile, but his face was calm and held no sign of a scowl. That alone was odd enough. He sat on the couch and watched her walk up to the bed. He was a bit tired too- he wouldn't mind a bit of a nap. "Where did you go after our village?" he said now completely out of his prior haze of confussion.

Her weeps began to slow down for she was calming down. She felt Atem push her away to look into her eyes. They were no longer dull as they were for so many years. They were green like emeralds again. Wet and a bit pink from crying, but emerald green none-the-less. She wiped away her tears and sniffled a bit. She wished she hadn't kept to herself all these years. Atem was very warm and kind.

Amia made sure she didn't have any dirt on her before she laid on the bed and removed her sandals "...well I was taken in by a man after he caught me trying to steal. surprisingly he didn't kill me, but i did end up working for him for a few years after he taught me to steal...... when i was about 12 he started acting strangely towards me. it disgusted me and before he was able to even touch me I had killed him. since that day i had staid well away from men and others unless i went out for raids. sometimes i would even go into the Valley of The Kings and rob graves. after a while i earned my name from my scar and how I seemed to vanish into the desert....." she took a deep breath "and i became a wandering thief...." she looked at Bakura "what happened to you?" she asked softly. her gaze was a bit softer than his.

Atem smiled softly "there, much better. and your eyes have even gotten brighter." he laughed softly and hugged her again "well i have to get to bed.... It's getting late. Good night Amme." he said her name softly as he walked out of the room an into his own.

The anger in Bakura's eyes swirled as Amia told her story. Again, she wouldn't have had to go through all of that if he had just stayed with her. He smirked however when she mentioned that she killed him. "Served him right," Bakura hissed with his smirk. He then thought for a second- what had he been doing all these years? "I never stayed with anybody. I just started to go out and steal. I would get caught and beaten- but I was always able to escape. I fought those who did as much as glance at me wrong. I lost fights in the beginning, but always got up to keep going. Soon enough, I was able to to fight and win- fend for my own. And now, here I am," he said.

Amme wiped her tears away and nodded, "Yes ok. Good night," she said as she watched him leave her room. She was tired as well. She laid on the bed and curled up a bit. She put the white soft comforter over herself. She then shut her eyes. Amme then opened them and sat up. She took her headband off as well as her choker with the orb. Other gold that was on her was removed and she tied back her hair. She changed into a gown and blew out the candles. She laid back down and recovered herself. Her eyes slowly shut.

Amia smiled "I lost a lot of fights too, in the beginning but eventually i grew strong enough to out maneuver men 3 times my size by using their strength and weight against them. very helpful for someone of my size." she chuckled. her eyes slowly began to close with a peaceful smile on her face "do not fret over the past.... you did not know... lets look to the future....." she quietly dosed off to sleep.

Atem had gotten ready for bed and laid down. he stared at the ceiling deep in thought until sleep took him over.

Bakura smirked, hearing how good her skills were. He figured as much- he knew the Desert Dragon was and amazing fighter and thief. But he never knew that the Desert Dragon was his Amia. He saw her drift to sleep and he layed on the couch- watching her. Those rotten palace bastards, he thought. They were the reason they were apart. They were the reason for Amia's strange marking. They were the reason Bakura was so empty, angry, and alone. It was time those scums learned that with actions there was a consequence. Their days were marked by there own doing- Bakura would make sure of that. He looked back at Amia. Though he believed that they were seperated because of the attack- he couldn't help but feel it was his fault for leaving her alone. Yes, she was alive and they were together now. But he should have never left her. If he only knew. Bakura did not go to sleep right away, he continued to keep an eye on Amia.

Amme had fallen asleep relativally easy. She drempt of a desert with white sand with an oasis. There were fish that could swim in water and the air. Bird flew by every so often- all a golden yellow. She walked in the sand and into the oasis- the water was so shallow it reached a bit higher then her ankles. The wind blew gently through her hair as she lifted her head up to take a wonderful breath of air. When she opened her eyes, the white sand had turned into that shallow body of water. The whole plain had become a shallow body of water. Amme sighed a bit in her dream, it was a clear place but empty and alone. She turned around to see a siloutte walk slowly toward her. With every step he took- plants and greenery grew under his foot. Behind him was greenery she had never seen before- it was lovely. He extended his hand to her as she smiled. Then, everything went black- her dream was over.

Amia's face was sad as she slept. she was happy that they had found each other but a part of her still ached for something more than a friend.... she then began to dream- she was riding on a silver horse beside Bakura, who on a black one. she smiled at him lovingly and asked the one question that nagged at her for so many years. "do you think you could ever love me..." in that moment everything went dark and Bakura stared at her in rejection. her heart began to hurt as she backed away from him on her horse as tears filled her eyes.....- the dream had suddenly ended and she was surrounded by darkness. her body however had reacted to the hurtful dream. she had began to cry in her sleep, something quite unusual on such a hardened person, and she had curled up into a ball.

Atem dreamed of walking with Amme through the garden. he held her close and smiled lovingly and he whispered in her ear "I love you my sweet Amme...."
PostPosted: Sun Jul 20, 2008 9:15 pm

Bakura watched as Amia's face was sad. Tears squeezed past her eyes. He sat up, what was she dreaming? When he was a child, he saw Amia cry once. She had fallen out of a tree. He brought her to the village doctor who helped her- but she was so shakened up. He held her- hoping she would calm down. Bakura sat up and took his rode off. Rubbing his face a bit he thought about the time over and over again. He never wanted to see Amia cry or be sad or hurt or anything. He kept blaming himself for everything. She wouldn't have been so alone these past years if he just stayed there. He wasn't there for her. Bakura then stood up and walked over to the bed. It was certainly big enough for the two of them. Perhaps he could hold her like he did as a child. He crawled in slowly and with the slowest and slightest hand movements, wrapped his arm around her. So now they both laid there, Bakura behind Amia- his stomach up against her back. Bakura continued to lay there and keep watch. But he became rather comfortable and his eyes were heavy. They rolled back and Bakura fell asleep. Bakura no longer dremt. Once and a while he would see the horrors as a child in his sleep. He didn't count them as nightmares- since it happened he saw them as memories flooding his mind.

~Morning time~

If there was one thing about Ammeterasu, it was that she could sleep. She was the only one to sleep in late. She was always the last to get up. She couldn't help it- she was so comfy in that bed. Not that it mattered, she was in lock down in her room- she might as well sleep. Morning light shined through her window and into her room. She threw the blanket over her head and snuggled in more. She wanted to see more of her dream- who was that person and why with every step was life forming? Amme snored lightly.

Amia swore that she felt a shift in the bed last night but didn't wake. her eyes opened slightly as she moved her head back to see Bakura and feel his arms wrapped around her. he had always been there for her before the tragedy when they were young. he had held her to comfort her, but somehow this felt different to her.... it felt more loving and sincere. she shook the feeling from her thoughts and gently slipped out of his arms. she then walked into the bathroom and began to bathe.

Seth opened he door to Amme's room and strode over to her bed. she was sleeping in like usual.... great. he pulled the blankets back and stared at her sternly "just because you're on lock down doesn't mean you can sleep in. It's time to get up and get ready for your duties today."

Atem was already up and ready. he was back at his throne and tending to the people. He also had the dream on his mind.... he did love Amme but he wasn't sure if she returned the feelings.
