Xenon doesn't relax, though. In fact, the android has probably the most terrified look that's ever crossed her face, and grips Cirus' arm tightly for some sort of comfort, actually digging her synthetic fingernails into his flesh slightly. "Relax? Relax?! How can I relax?! I'm a murderer!" She wasn't actually looking at him at this point, but rather looking around in a highly paranoid manner; as if in fear that something could jump out at her at any moment and drag her off into hell. "I'm not a bad robot... I'm a horrible robot! A diabolical robot!" As she says that last part, she pulls herself closer to Cirus, staring into his eyes, her own eyes full of utter horror and fear. "I don't deserve to exist!" She tells him.
PostPosted: Tue Oct 07, 2008 6:04 pm

Nnf-! Cirus winces a bit at the nails digging into his skin before he looks at Xenon and sighs, putting his arms around her and drawing her into a hug. "All you did was push him, right...? That's it? That doesn't put a hole in a man... a simple push doesn't kill someone, even if it's at a high speed like that. Think about it logically... work it out. You pushed him, right? You would have broken some of his bones, -maybe-, but you wouldn't have torn a hole through him. Something else must have happened beside you pushing him... It's not your fault."

((Due to how busy things are right now for me -just as it seems to be for quite a few of you actually-, I'm just skipping my post ahead from the entrance. Not much to really post there, as it would fit more properly here anyway. xD
Ah, and no worries Urd, you know by now I'm cool with pretty much every/anything you do. =3 ))

[The Elder arrives from the Alter]

After their departure, even now still trying to maintain his optimism, the elder only had a fraction of the smile he once did before. He was happy to have his daughter back, safe and sound, but that wasn't what troubled him. For starters, there was Chigusa. He was pretty sure of her reasoning, as he was pretty familiar with nearly every person within the temple and knew about them, but he never would have thought she would have gone to such lengths to actually try and summon a demon. He would want her detained for questioning before she was given punishment, but what was most disappointing was that she was one of the most skilled talisman users they had, probably enough to one day rival even his own power if she kept up her training. But instead, he had doubts if they could ever open her up to the light again. What would be done with her in the end was still to be decided. Then there was that man, the 'angel in the shadows' as he claimed. Had it not been for him, they probably would not have gotten to the alter in time, but that still left the Elder with even more questions, and he would have a long talk with that man tonight when the others went off to bed. Then finally there was Kenneth. Even if he was there foe, he still deserved a proper rites for his departure to the after life, and now, despite the hectic times that ensued today, he would still have to make arrangements for a funeral and a rite of passage so his soul would rest in peace.

Overall, there was a lot on the Elder's mind, but he remained calm and his motions in tact, arriving at the temple first where he could make some starting preparations. Once there, getting a bit ahead of the students to arrange things for there arrival a few minutes ahead of time, he needed to make sure that certain accommodations could be fitted for the last minute guests, and that he could submit a report about what had happened as well as just set everything strait.

When the other students would arrive, they would find that they would each be escorted by a priest or priestess to a nice, humble room to stay for the night. Rest was suggested, but the Elder himself still had so much to be completed tonight while the others slept. Hopefully tomorrow, everything could be eventually returned to normal.

[Satomi arrives shortly after with Mana, Kazumi, and Ken.]

Though she wouldn't admit it flat out, Mana had really helped Satomi clear her mind quite a bit. This whole thing was still going to be something that was going to linger on her mind for quite awhile, but Mana's way of handling it was really helping to soften the blow. Eventually, as Mana had spoken a bit technical during the walk, explaining some of the weaponry she used and really catching Satomi's interest in the ballistics and designs, she had nearly forgotten the entire incident. Getting into her scientific rouse of momentum as she occasionally asked questions or even offered suggestions. Her tone wasn't as excited as it normally would have when in a situation like this, but it definitely seemed to have helped.

Though, once they arrived to the headquarters, finding they would soon be guided to some rooms and the Elder was already hard at work, she had arrived at the very moment Xenon nearly yelled. It stung her deeply like a dagger in the heart, and she slowly came to a stop, turning away from Mana now as she looked down, a solemn look returning to her eyes as she clenched her hands into fists at her side. "Xenon, stop it!" She said sternly, but unable to actually look towards her as she was turned away, her own expression pained, but even now, she managed to be strong enough to hold back any tears. "It's no more you're fault then it is mine. Blame me.. not yourself."

She didn't want to see Xenon crack up because of this. If anything, she would take the burden if it made Xenon any better. By now, she was beginning to think of Xenon as she was with emotions, and didn't want to scar them already. Not wanting to leave Xenon open for a rebuttal of any sort, wanting her to swallow the truth Satomi wanted her to believe, Satomi already turned away, giving a silent bow towards Mana before walking ahead to be escorted by a priestess to a room. She just wanted to sleep now and let this all melt away from her mind with a dream.

Xenon looked towards Cirus, but then towards Satomi, her eyes still wide and fearful. She remained silent, just staring towards her in pure shock at what she had said. Even as she walked away, Xenon stood there, in shock. She slowly shook her head as she looked down at the floor, whispering to herself; but Cirus could probably hear her, seeing as she was right next to him. "Satomi-san... It's not your fault... It could never be your fault..." Throughout all of this, she never releases Cirus' arm.

Bleep; Bleep; Bleep...

And there goes the battery... Xenon looked towards Cirus, once again, and reached up, opening the compartment on the side of her ear, pulling out the recharging cable and thrusting the plug into his hand, curling his fingers around it so that he didn't drop it. "...Please... Plug me in..." She didn't want to terminate herself yet. Not until she'd made sure that Satomi knew that she wasn't responsible at all. And with that, she slumped, lifeless, onto Cirus's shoulder, as the light faded from her eyes and the blue part of her ear antennae.

[Grundy and Cassandra enter, carrying the remains of the skeletons]

"" Ba-dum-tish. Cassandra was carrying a few skulls and a few pieces of armour that had slipped out of Grundy's grasp. "" Naturally, she had a few personal things that she would be needing to take care of; and of course she wouldn't actually be sleeping. Not with so many priests nearby. All it would take is one cocky little priest to try and show off in front of the others by casting a healing spell on her, and all hell would break lose in a rather bloody manner. Possibly involving ocular intrusion.

Ignoring the other priests, she headed straight to the Elder, pushing past anyone who tried to stop her. She wasn't about to talk to his little assistants. She was more important than that; at least, in her mind, she was. "I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark and guess that you've got this entire place sanctified or something." She gave a light shrug. "So if you would be so kind as to lead me to a room where your 'oh-so-mighty' holy powers won't try to smite me for performing an honest medical profession, then I'll stay quiet all night, and be gone by the morning." Well... Maybe not quiet all night. It would maybe take 4 hours to patch the skeletons up, tops. After that... Eh, maybe she'd stitch some creatures together. She was pretty much making this up as she went along; but that was what made undeath fun.

Grundy twitched behind his helmet. He was carrying a lot of stuff here, even for him - he was effectively carrying ten humans (you'd be amazed how much more manageable and lighter a human is without worrying about breaking their joints), and, of course, his nose was itching. He blew in an upwards direction, hoping the gust of wind would do something to help... but nothing. He kept quiet, though. After all, Cassandra was talking; and interrupting Cassandra for something like an itchy nose was not a good idea at the best of times.

Cirus blinks and catches Xenon in his arms, tilting his head at her before understanding what the problem was, seeing the plug in his hand. "Yes..." He gathers her up into his arms before hurrying off to find a room for them, hopefully it has electricity. He'd have to keep an eye on her, too. He, if he can't find a power plug in their room, would take off his pack, turn it on, and manage to plug Xenon's cable into that. Should have her charged in no time with his generator, actually.

[The Next Morning]

"That still does not justify her actions. Even I am beginning to think the punishment is a bit harsh, but regulations have been that way for over two hundred years, it can not be changed."

"I never said we are to change the rules, just the way you view this crime."

"And I understand that, but I would still prefer she remains under our watch for now. At least for a few days until we come to a complete decision."

"A few days will suffice, but I want it before the class leaves back to Mahora."

"...Look, you may have been able to explain yourself, and you still have my gratitude for the letter, but that still doesn't give you a right to make a decision here."

"And I'm not making a decision, only a suggestion that I'm sure you will find beneficial to both the east and west mages society. Her presance here any longer will only be trouble, but back at Mahora, she can serve a punishment there, and would not be viewed as a traitor. Where on the other hand, as you know, a traitor among her own people would not live very long."

"....I'll... see what can be arranged."

For the past hour, Tatsumi and the Elder had been speaking, the time now not too early, probably when students would be awakening. Dawn was already settling in, but chances were, the students were all still so tired from last night that not all of them would awaken so soon. None the less, the two had tried coming to terms, speaking some of last night when the others went to bed, resting only a few hours, and having more debating at the front stage where later, priests and priestess would soon gather for their afternoon training. As for Chigusa herself, she had been locked away in a room not very far, probably close enough to hear the Elder and Tatsumi if she was awake. But her talisman were taken away, and there were two guards outside her door.

Tatsumi had fitted himself with a more formal attire as well, wearing white for once, but still prefering black as well as he wore a unique blend of clothing that was made of an expensive looking mix between leathers, silks, and cotten. The Elder didn't issue any cloths for Tatsumi which was the strange part, but he had come wearing something that at least fit better in this temple. For now, the two continued speaking with one another, the main hall for the most part being empty aside from an average security of guards and the occasional priest arriving early for their rituals. It wasn't until late morning were they supposed to arrive, but some came earlier.

Tatsumi didn't pay them any mind as he stood close to the main alter where the Elder was, one hand behind his back casually, the other holding a cup of hot green tea he had been offered, and his case he was always seen with not even two feet away from his view. Overall, he seemed accepted here, but the Elder was only giving him this special privilage because he had been the one who helped with telling them Konoka's location. Though after Tatsumi explained himself as being an agent from a different organization that he couldn't disclose and explaining how he had planned on stopping her the entire time, the Elder lightened up just a tad from his presance. He was still cautious and somewhat wary of him, but he trusted the man enough to let him negotiate like this and have his guards at ease.

"Right; I'll be off then."

Cassandra and Grundy came walking into the area where Tatsumi and the Elder were talking. She'd made a very slight change in her attire since yesterday, opting to no longer wear her beloved blood-splattered apron and gloves. Mostly because they were covered in tiny bone fragments from all the stitching of skeletons that she'd done last night, and they'd need to be cleaned at some point. The operations had been a right pain in the backside, too; she'd had to scrap three of them due to having so many pieces lost, and instead stitched them up into a sort of tri-human creature.

Of course, none of them were with her. As soon as she'd finished her work on them, she'd teleported them away, back to her 'secret base'; which wasn't really much of a 'secret base'; but few people knew about it and lived. She stretched and yawned - not actually tired, just her lungs momentarily failing to intake enough oxygen. Not that she really needed oxygen, but the whole argument was quite pointless to try to rationalise; especially when you consider that this is a vampiric ten year old doctor with an eight-foot orc for a bodyguard. "You couldn't look after Grundy for me, could you?" She pointed over her shoulder at the Orc.

Grundy wasn't actually in his full armour any more; just his boots and his chainmail pants. He'd left the rest in the room that Cassandra had been using as a makeshift skeleton surgery; as if he was intending on staying here for a while anyway. He didn't even have his precious axe with him; but a blow from one his fists could still be just as deadly, if applied directly the face.

Cassandra shrugged. "Only I've got this teaching job and whatnot; and I'd really rather not have to explain to my students why there's a dirty great Orc following me around." She could explain most things rather well to the uninformed; but Grundy was one of those things that no matter how well you try to explain him, when he's not in his full armour, you are just not going to be able to lie your way out of it. "He'll help out around the temple if you like. Cleaning, general DIY... He's rather good at coving. Just don't ask him to sing or cook. Throw him something marginally edible every now and then, and he'll behave."

Grundy simply nodded, a gormless smile on his face. He was actually somewhat proud of himself; not only at Cassandra's compliments to some of his 'skills'; but also of his failures. As far as he was concerned, men who sang and cooked well were 'ponces' like Richard. He really hated that guy...

((I'm not too sure what's going on at this point. I was hoping someone else would post, but well... this post shouldn't affect continuity or anything of that sort.))

Kazumi sat on the toilet and ignored the occasional slow, weak pounding that had followed the attempts at opening the door. She was trying to dictate into her recorder but had to break off after a few sentences. Every time she tried, she had to stop. It was not that she did not have the words to explain what had happened, nor the video or pictures--most of which was being downloaded to her computer back at the dorm via uploading and emailing through her cellphone--but that no matter how she tried, it was simply not believable. She'd have a better chance submitting to one of Kodansha's lit contests than say Asahi Shinbun. Finally, she just stopped trying to make it sound plausible and just spoken, clearly and concisely.

Ken slumped against the wall, trying to hold it in. He tried not to think about those glasses of water he had had before bed, nor of the pond they had passed on their way to the rooms....

He tried desperately not to think of water....

He had knocked politely but there had been no answer. He had jiggled the door handle but it had been locked. He broke out into a sweat and tried not to think about the baths last night....

By the Gods, he prayed to various spirits and deities to send him one of those priestesses from the night before to guide him to another bathroom. He tried desperately not to collapse on the floor, he wasn't sure what would happen then.

Mana sat on the tatami mats with her pistols, hers and those she had lent to Ken-kun earlier. After taking out her kit, she had taken apart the guns for maintenance. She put away the first set of guns. However tired she had been the night before, she had at least kept her weapons in top form.

She turned her attention to the guns Ken-kun had kept with him these past couple of days. It was not that she did not trust him, but one should never accept a gun without inspecting it. Maintenance would occupy her for some time yet.

((Well, to put the locations simply, there's the main room/alter where Tatsumi and the Elder are, along with a few priests and priestess, then in the back were several rooms that the students were allowed to sleep in overnight. I tried to keep it simple. xP ))

With the sun now risen, and seeing Cassandra approach, it seemed like it was no longer time to discuss things as they were. Students would begin waking up soon, and there was no need to go into further detail with them around. "Elder, we've spoken enough for now. I'm going to check on Chigusa." Tatsumi said flatly, one arm still behind his back as the other picked up his case and he seemed to head strait to the back part of the temple where the rooms were. Back there was were the students were for last night to rest, but there was one particular room that had two guards in front of it, who moved aside for Tatsumi. It was where Chigusa was being held. He was sure that by now she must have awoken. In fact, if she had, chances were she may have even heard the conversation taking place. Taking a moment to check his pocket watch, he opened the door and stepped in to check on Chigusa and have a talk with her...

The Elder narrowed his eyes a little when Tatsumi left, still a bit contemplative and wary about his presance. Even though he had helped, the Elder continuously felt a darkness from the man that disturbed him quite a bit. For now though, he felt that was something he wouldn't pry about, and he would let the man go, but later he needed to ask more questions towards him.

It was then that Cassandra had approached him, along with that 'Grundy' as she liked to call him, which the Elder was a bit repulsed by, mostly from it's raging, bloodthirsty personality last night. The creature seemed calmer now, but when Cassandra actually asked for the favor of looking over him, the Elder became reluctant. Sure, she may have tried to make it seem like he wouldn't be any trouble, but letting an orc be here violated numerous rules. Then again, Tatsumi already violated a few as well, and the Orc and Cassandra had helped yesterday, so....

"Very well... though if he gets himself out of control, I can not promise his safety." The Elder said sternly, still a little unsure about all this, but coming to a decision in the end. He would not let a favor go ungiven, especially when he owed it, and so, for now anyway, he would allow it. Though he would need some of his more capable guards and priests to watch over him.

Satomi was slowly waking up at this point, having fallen asleep in one of the rooms given all by herself. Even though she had her group, right now she didn't want to be bothered by anyone, and to just get some time to herself. She had started the day in a normal fashion as best as she could with what she had that morning, changing back into her cloths from last night after being in the pajamas that they had been allowed to borrow for the night. She took it slow, silent the whole time as she got herself ready, taking awhile to straiten her hair, get dressed, and eventually walk out to only find that the one bathroom here, or at least that she knew of, had a line to it. She's be able to wait... as far as she was concerned, once she got back to the hotel, everything would be fine.

She did tense up though when Tatsumi passed by, and she was a little confused by his new appearance in that strange outfit to. But fortunately he didn't look at her and went strait inside to a guarded room. A little shaky at this point, her expression vanished as she had a dull and depressed outlook while she walked out to the main alter, hoping to find Negi there or maybe some of her fellow students.

Regan wakes and sits up, stretching her arms over her head and yawning a bit. Cirus...? She looks around for her demon companion, tilting her head a bit before recalling - ah, he's with Xenon. Right. She gets to her feet and changes into her normal clothing, though it's a bit showy and... has a nice little slash between her breasts from the swordgirl last night. Oh well, not like anything was showing, and she still has her bra, so it was fine. To her, anyway, she couldn't tell what the priests and priestesses would say.

Oh, wait, what's that? It seems as though someone went to the trouble of getting a shirt her size, how nice~. Also, a set of clothing for Konoka... Right, right. She changes her shirt, first of all, before setting about getting Konoka dressed... poor girl's still out cold, it seems.

With that done, Regan steps out of her room, stretching before noticing Satomi in line for the bathroom... and seeming rather sad, at that. Was it last night that was getting to her, with the casualty...? Regan frowns softly before walking up to her and putting her arms around her from behind, pressing up against her back. "Good morning, Satomi-san. You're upset... Talk to me?"

Kazumi switched off her recorder. It had been much easier going after whoever it was had stopped trying to get in. After a few minutes, she had packed away everything--her phone had downloaded and sent off the photos from her camera.

She was rather surprised by Ken as he stumbled past her and practically pushed her out of the bathroom in his rush to close the door.

Shrugging to herself, she looked around and spotted Regan-san and Hakase. She was about to join them, but realized might be intruding. She had seen how Mana had tried to comfort Hakase last night and if Hakase were still fragile, then she'd best keep away for now.

Kazumi turned and headed back to the rooms. It seemed unfair that everyone automatically assumed that she was prying and looking for information, which admitted she was, but but they didn't have to assume it straight away.

((Um, yeah. Let's leave poor Ken alone for now....))

Mana had just put the last gun back together and sliding a clip of rubber bullets home when the door to the room slid open with a bang. She reacted on pure instinct--spinning, diving, and aiming all in one fluid blur. She put the weapon up when she saw Asakura standing there with a camera.

"Whatta shot!" Kazumi put up a brave front and tried not to let the trembling in her knees show. It had seemed like a good idea at the time, but witnessing Mana move and draw a bead on you? She was going to remember looking down that barrel in her dreams tonight.

Mana shook her head. Toggling the safety, she tucked the gun into the waistband of her jeans. with the exception of the straw hat and staff, all of the Buddhist costume was packed away.

Ken wandered back into the room, brushing past Asakura. He looked down at the tatami, the futons had been put away it seemed. Well, not that it mattered. He walked into the room and lay down on the tatami. Rolling onto hsi back, he stared up at the ceiling. "Anyone know what we're doing today?"
PostPosted: Wed Oct 15, 2008 6:42 pm

"Next time, pull the trigger." Tatsumi said as he was on his way in entering the room to see Chigusa. He had only turned and looked towards Mana and Kazumi for a moment as he said this, his dull gaze briefly meeting Mana's before he finally entered, not caring for her responce. In fact, he didn't even close the door, not having any fear that Chigusa would try anything or escape, nor seeming bothered by the fact that Mana was given her chance to do something or even speak to him. He almost seemed like he was not even seeing her as being worth his time right now...

Seeing it as her turn since Kazumi left, whom she seemed a bit too unresponsive and somewhat dull in her outlook to even pay attention to her, Satomi was about to walk into the bathroom. But she was stopped as she felt to arms catch her from behind and something soft brush against her back. By now, she recognized what that was, but instead of her normally embarresed reaction, Satomi just tried to casually pull away from Regan, not seeming to be in the mood for speaking. "I'll be fine, let me go, please." She said with a somewhat blunt tone of voice, not appearing to really make much of a reaction at this point now.

((Meh, not the best of posts, I'm a little out of it for a good post. I'll get to the Elder later. >_<))

Regan lets Satomi go and sighs softly. So she -did- need some talking to. "Alright, very well. I'll let you use the restroom..." She even steps back a bit, but would be waiting for Satomi to come back out so she could talk to her. She wouldn't just let her friend carry on like this, she would have to pry. She'd talk to her and make her feel better despite everything like she has before... at least -twice- before, after having met her but a few weeks ago. Fast, close friends, is what they are.

"You heard the man." Cassandra said with a slight chuckle, somewhat glad that she didn't have to spend her entire time in the presence of Grundy. As much as she appreciated having an orc built like a brick outhouse as a bodyguard, his social skills left more than a little to be desired. She looked towards her general and nodded. "You stay here and make yourself useful," She slipped back into English as she finished her sentence; not really caring who understood. She knew that Grundy would be less likely to get confused if she used his native tongue. ""

Grundy gave a nod at the orders given to him, accompanied with an over-enthusiastic salute, like a small child who was pretending to be a soldier. "" He half-said, half-barked, before lowering his arm out of it's salute.

"Good lad." Cassandra said with a smile and a nod, naturally rather pleased at her ever-obedient orc. Obedience was good; it meant that he was either genuinely happy with his treatment, or that he was scared of her wrath, should he not obey her. Either way, it was a win-win situation as far as he was concerned. Turning away from Grundy, she stretched, peering over her shoulder at the Elder. "Just don't say anything bad about me, and you'll be fine. Auf Wiedersehen~" She says with a light chuckle as she fades away into her gaseous form, and flies out of the temple. She'd probably not ever return here; and just tell Grundy via his cyst when they were ready to leave.

[Cassandra leaves in her Gaseous Form]

Grundy waved 'goodbye' as Cassandra left; although he'd only actually been waving to her for a moment or two, as he'd lost sight of her as she transformed. He looked towards the Elder, and gave another over-enthusiastic salute to him. "Grundy am ready for doing jobs!" He announced. He didn't care that he was being ordered by someone else; he just knew that Cassandra had told him to make himself useful here - so he'd do whatever he was told.
