She watched what the doctor was doing, that protective older sibling thing trying to kick in. If she was the one who could break things, she's probably be breaking that syringe...but that was her brother's territory. Which was ironic with their personalities not that she was old enough to understand that. "I'd get chocolate mind and then mama would put some blo-...." Cutting off then because she had learned that you didn't talk about drinking blood in front of people you didn't know...because sometimes they just didn't get it or something like that.

"Mama would put blood on it for her. I like strawberry better than chocolate but don't tell Mama. It upsets her." At least he thought it would since he knew how much his mother adored chocolate ice cream. He frowned seeing the needle and took a deep breath, squeezing his twins' hand. He hated shots in his shoulder, they hurt so much more.

"Blood and Chocolate, huh? Wasn't that a name of a movie?" He asked knowing the two wouldn't be able to answer him, well maybe they would. He slid the needle's point into Thobias' shoulder, "Tell me, should I try it?" He looked over at the little girl and gave a cheesey grin so that she could tell he wasn't any sort of vampire - no fangs. "It'll probably taste a lot like iron." Cyprus' face scrunched up in disgust just thinking about it. Didn't blood have a lot of iron in it? He should know since he's a doctor but the answer slipped his mind. The needles' contents was slowly pushed out, "I personally like Black Cherry" The doctor made a slurping noise and licked his lips. Afterwards the needle was pulled out the the shot was finished.
Leaning back, Cyprus placed the empty syringe on the table, "all finished, now it's your turn little missy."

Ooooh so blood was okay to talk about? That opened up several doors of conversation! A giggle though at that grin and his clear lack of fangs, even as she squeezed her brother's hand. "Mama says blood tastes like pennies to people who aren't vampire. Ever sucked on a penny? If you like that then I guess you would." As daddy often said...there were some weird people out there. Smile went back to that pouty frown though as it was pronounced her turn and her and her bother switched places without breaking their hand hold, much as she didn't want to. In fact she squinted her eyes closed and proceeded to hold her breath.

He hissed, biting his own bottom lip when the needle broke skin and caused him pain. It didn't matter what doctors did to distract him, he still felt the pain and focused on the shot. "You gotta be careful you don't swallow pennies though. They can get stuck and that's not fun." But it was done and over before he knew it and he switched places, keeping his sister's hand firmly in his own. "It'll only hurt for a minute." Becoming the braver twin now.

"Nope, never tried to eat a penny before - or at least I don't think so." the doctor said frowning a bit as he thought about it.
When the twins switched, Cyprus switched needles. The used one discarded on the tray while the other was firmly in his fingers. Pressing on the end of the syringe was all that was needed to make sure it was correctly working. "What brave soldiers you are." He complimented them on not squirming around.
Cyprus scooted his chair closer, placed his hand under the girl's arm and proceeded to puncture her skin with the little needle. Once fully in, the doctor pushed down on the end letting the medicine into her blood stream. This time he kept quiet. Quick and it was over. "You're all set" He smiled pulling the needle out and placing it on the table before standing up.

She gave a little noise at the stinging pain of the needle poking into her skin and the slight feel of warmth from whatever it was that he was putting into her that was supposed to be good for them. She still did not see how this was a good thing at all. And the moment it was over, Cyprus got the pouty face. "No band-aid? But it won't get better!" Despite her mother's medical reminders, Lici was still firm believeing that band-aids healed everything.

Pleased that her twins had been given their shots and things were progressing, she laughed softly and pulled a bandaid out of the bag she always carried. A quick rip and she pressed her lips to the pinprick that was almost fully healed then put the bandaid over it as well. "There, Lici. Now it will heal and you'll be just fine. Thank you, doctor."
Ten minutes later they were seated in the car, a thick folder of papers in Sam's bag and on their way back home, the twins happily licking at ice cream cones. "Both of you need to make sure you're all ready for school tomorrow when we get home." Pulling the car into the garage and making sure the twins were unbuckled and coming along as well. "Xearus?"
Stepping in behind his mother, he cocked his head and echoed. "Daddy? We're home." Letting out a cry of alarm as his ice cream toppled into his hands in a gooey mess.

"Daddy! We we got ice cream!" A blink and stop mid lick as her brother fumbled his ice cream and without missing a beat she reached to his hands and picked up the blob, plopping it back on his cone with a grin and giggle. "It's still good."
He pinched the bridge of his nose, rubbing out tension. Words were swimming before his eyes even when he closed them. Okay essasy grading was his least favorite thing but someone had to do it. Whether or not it had something to do with lack of sleep was another matter. A look up to his office door at the calling of wife and children and he got up, wandering out to them with a stretch. "How'd it go with Ronchas?"

Reaching down, she plucked the ice cream from her son's hand. "Go get a napkin, Thobias." Floors and faces could be washed but important papers wouldn't survive if ice cream got on them so she carefully walked into the kitchen and held the dripping cone over the sink. It was easier to clean her son up than tell her husband the bad news. The really bad news. Settling the twins at the table with their cones and a whole mess of napkins, she linked an arm through Xearus' and dragged him into his study, shutting the door behind her. "We didn't see Ronchas." Chewing on her lip as she waited. "The doctor we did see gave us some...news."

Okay they were going to go back into the room that was deemed off limits to children. Tilting his head at her he frowned. "He didn't see them last time, I though he was going to this time." It made him a little uncomfortable...sure staff was there to handle things too but this man whom more or less was responsible for their children hadn't seen them since they were born. Rubbed him all the wrong ways. Letting out a breath in a way his wife knew his feelings on the subject he crossed his arms. "And the other news?"

"So did I but apparently not." It didn't maker her too happy either. If she'd ensured a couple was going to have babies on her watch, she'd be damned if any other doctor was going to be able to see them. Ronchas didn't even know what Thobias and Felicity looked like aside from the small snapshot of them as tiny babies in the file." Plopping in one of the chairs in front of his desk, she reached into her bag and pulled out the pile of papers and the brochure. "Ronchas wants our kids in a special school. One he controls, more or less. Here's the information and I managed to get a copy of the curriculum as well."

He was tempted to make and angry phone call but restrained himself. Taking the pack of papers he leaned on his hip against the desk and flipped through them, making more letters float in front of his face but remained focused none the less. "This is the part where you convince me that it's better for them to switch schools. If you wait an hour more, I'm sure I'll be easier to convince seeing as I'll be passing out automatic yeses to everything." AKA he was tired and this didn't help.

"Actually, no. The only advantage I can see is that they help the twins develop their powers. But since Ronchas' staff wasn't even aware of what powers Thobias and Felicity did have, I fail to see how they can do anymore than we can." Sighing softly and leaning back in her chair. "You were supposed to sleep while we were gone, Xe. We don't have to give them an answer for a little while though and I want to go through that whole curriculum and make sure we're making the best decision. School is very important." To her anyway, all rigid schedules and overachieving-ness. She really was the more boring parent.

"Did for a little while, then couldn't. Decided to papers. I'll take a nap before dinner, have dinner with you and the kids and then head out to classes." Waving a dismissive hand about it and setting the papers down with another sigh. "After what we had to go through for our schooling, I'm well aware of school choice. We'll look over it this weekend and make a decision then. Who knows, maybe they'd like it better, get more individual attention." Yawning. "Everything else is okay though, right?"
