Cada giggled his delight at having his friend over. Ushering him into the kitchen with a rush of pushes from behind he smiled as he handed him his father's apron and placed his own apron around his waist. Though he wasn't very short he still needed a stool in some places to reach certain items. Of them being the cake mix, pots and pans that they would be using to bake.
"The ice cream is in the freezer but we wont' need it til later. My daddy won't be home for a few hours so the cake should be done by then." He thought a moment nibbling at his thumbnail as he finally smiled. "I think my daddy would like it that I have friends. He'll be happy."
Preparing the kitchen for the mixing and baking that would take place, Cada smiled happily as the pots they needed were laid out and other ingredients for the cake were set to the side. "Okay.. so um... now what?"

"Well we start making it," Hymn suggested calmly looking at Cada. The ingredients seemed to be that of any pastry dish. Beginning his train of thought he began piecing aspects together so they would be able to cook it perfectly. Walking over to the small bowl and took a few of eggs cracking them first putting them in the bowl. "Now, we begin." he said as became enticed in fixing the small cake.
He loved baking..

Cada smiled as he begin mixing the ingridents as Hymn instructed. Most of the mixing ended up on his hair and cloths but he seemed to do a good job for the time being. Mr. Happy sitting idly by on the end of the counter while Femka hovered about here and there whining for a taste of the sweet smelling mix. "Not now Femka it's not ready yet you'll get some soon." Cada informed giving the familiar a pointed nod.
He turned to Hymn next smiling bright as he came up from behind hugging the other to look around him as he was working on something. "What are we going to do while the cake is baking?"

Hymn giggled at Cada as he was covered in the power. Wiping it out of his hair he smiled down at the other kissing him before he looked down at the mixture. Placing it in the oven he turned on a small timer he found and stretched. "I guess we will have to just sit around and wait," he suggested laying the apron on a chair.

"Sit around and wait? That' so boring though..." Cada whined as he pouted slipping out of his apron. He went to the living room flopping down on the small couch with a yawn. When Hymn came to sit next to him he quickly slipped into his lap snuggling close. "I like it when you sing.. if you do that the cake will bake faster do you think?" He questioned whimsically. Always one for fantasy and make believe.

Hymn smiled, and happily fulfilled the others wish as his voice began to vibrate off the walls of the house. He sung a song he had learned a long time ago, it was a story of war. A shady story, but with a pleasant ending. He kept singing for a while and he himself stopped a couple times, remembering the tragedy himself. The song went low a few times and during the low parts Hymn kept his eyes closed, letting the images flow once more.
He finished up a moment after he paused for the last time and frowned. "Such tragedy sadly brings such peace..." he whispered to himself. Looking to Cada he reached up and rubbed his face. Hymn said nothing for a bit as he began to smell the cake cook. He was preoccupied with what he had just sung about, his thoughts reminiscing about that he forgot to mention. What if? The question rung through his head like a train, before it too relaxed into the back of his mind.

Cada listened to the melody noting it was a sad tune rather than the usual happy soft songs. He didn't interrupt however only leaning against the other for support as he let him continued to sing the sad melody. When he was done, Cada looked up with a slight frown of worry on his brow. He didn't speak, while a moment of seriousness washing over the younger dust. Reaching out he caressed the older dust's cheeks leaning forward to kiss him chastely on the lips. Not completely sure what brought such a motion about though it seemed like the right thing to do. "No worries... today we should be happy, yes? Cakes should make you happy." He pushed softly leaning forward again...
Just as Cada's lips pressed against Hymns, the door to the apartment opened producing a tired guardian. Slipping into the main room, Marijus gave a haggered wave to his child heading for his room. It hadn't registered in his mind that Cada was kissing someone... on top of that a man, an older man... quickly he turned glaring at the scene before him. Sniffing he could smell cake cooking. Was that his plan? Lure his child in with sweets?
"Who are you?" He growled storming into the room snatching Cada away with little grace. With a squeak the dust child found himself snatched from his friend and in his daddy's arms. With a pout he tried twisting in the man's arms. "This is my friend daddy... he came to bake some cakes with me. You're home early?" Marijus ignored Cada for the time being still glaring at this new person in his home while holding Cada possessively in arms.

Hymn enjoyed the kiss wrapping his arms around the other just before Cada was snatched away by Marijus breaking the kiss. "Wa-" he said stopping himself before he went any further. "Oh, My name is Hymn, another dust.." he said standing up to shake hands with the other. Hymn had gone even paler than he was normally. Inside, he could feel his heart beating fast, and his nerves tying in knots. What was he to do? He hadn't expected this to happen, certainly not at this moment. "Sir, I'm sorry.. I meant no harm," he said stuttering over his words constantly as he tried to speak.

Marijus was on a tangit but Cada would not allow his guardian to treat Hymn so poorly. Pushing between the two he hurried to Hymn's side glaring at his father with determination. "Please, he's my friend. He has helped me many times with those bullies in town. Can't he stay and eat cake with us..." Cada asked hugging Hymn tightly. "You said so yourself not to judge people before you get to know them."
Marijus sighed to himself, with such an accusation thrown his way he could understand why Cada was so upset. "Fine!" He growled realizing he'd rather not have Cada upset with him. "Do whatever you want but have enough respect for someone's home to restrain yourself while you're here. Hymn was it? I'll trust you to uphold that." With a deep sigh he racked his fingers through his hair watching the two. With a shrug he hurried to his room closing the door behind. Better not to be around them for a while.
Cada smiled at his father's departure knowing he was going to cool off for a bit. "He's just a little confused but he should be calmer when he returns. Come lets check on the cake." He ushered tugging on Hymn's arm softly.

Hymn decided not to pursue the subject any further, instead he followed Cada into the kitchen and bent down to check on the cake. "Oh. oh!" he said, surprised as he saw the cake completely brown. Rushing over to the opposite side of the kitchen he grabbed a town and slowly pulled the delicate pastry out of the oven. A slight steam rose up from it, and with steady hands he sat it on the table.
"So, how do you want to doctorate it?" he asked pecking the other on the lips with his own. Cada seemed to delicate at the moment. Hymn, rather unconcerned with the cake sat down on a chair and began thinking about Cada's guardian. Had he gone about this all wrong? "I'm sorry," he whispered covering his face again with the helment. He couldn't stand to face the other, not now.

Cada pouted at the sudden change in his friend. Why was he upset? And was the need to apologize? He came over looking to his friend, with the helmet back down he seemed to have shy away. Cada couldn't help the tears that began to form as he rushed over hugging the other tightly. "I don't want you to leave me, Hymn. Please don't get angry!" He wailed ignorant of his guardian in the next room. If Hymn decided never to see him again, he'd run away... yes that's what he'd do.
But before that, he reached up to push the helm back seeing the sadness in Hymn's eyes he didn't hesitate to kiss him, holding him close as he did. "You're still Cada's friend yes? If you stay my friend then don't worry, my father is a kind man he's just confused. Please don't be upset. He'll understand soon I know it." With tears streaming down his face he pleaded with Hymn not to be upset more for the fact he wanted the other dust to remain nearby. It was lonely without any friends like him around. He was almost certain his father understood this too. "Hymn, said he loved Cada... you still love me yes?"

Hymn was surprised by the rush set of actions and at the kiss his eyes widened before relaxing glancing down at the other. With a smiled on his face he wiped off Cada's tears and lowered their lips together once more before breaking them for a quick response, "Yes, I still love you." Looking carefully at the other Hymn lifted his dead weight arms and wrapped them around Cada standing up. They were meant to be together, he could feel it. With a gentle gesture he left Cada go before he vanished off into the house, leaving Cada to attend the cake.
It took some time but Hymn located Marijus' room. Knocking slightly he immitated Cada's voice and easily gained permission into the medium sized room. Before the other could speak Hymn took a breath and began in a whisper so Cada couldn't hear if he was listening. "I know-" he hesitated, "I know I've gone about this differently than you would have sir. I understand that is is a surprise to walk in seeing me and your dust, your child together. I wish to gain your acceptance before I really begin to have feelings for the other one." He continued explaining everything wiping off the tears as they appeared on his eyes. Letting go of Cada if he had too, would be a challenge he hoped he wouldn't have to overcome.

Cada watched Hymn exit the kitchen saying nothing he tried to compose himself. Instead he busied himself with the cake preperations while Hymn wandered off on his own.
In his room, Marijus was thinking to himself. To see such a sight was shocking but he wasn't a monstrous man about these things. He just wanted Cada to be happy but did it have to be like this and so soon? Where Dusts so different from the humans that they matured faster as well? He wondered about this though, Cada seemed mature but yet child-like all at once. It was strangely refreshing.
At the sound of Cada's voice he let the other enter but was immediately alarmed when he saw the other dust. Standing abruptly he stepped back but allowed the other to talk. Seeing his distress he wondered about Hymn's sincerity. Sighing deeply he walked over setting a strong hand to the teen's shoulder. "Look, its a bit too early for him. He needs time to grow before he'll understand these things you realize. Even if you profess love to him, I don't think he fully understands." Marijus sighed again scratching the back of his head. "You may remain close, however, I'd like to ask you to refrain from physical activities until he is old enough to understand what love truly is." Giving a soft grumble though he smiled he ruffled Hymn's hair lightly.
"You children are quiet strange. I don't understand but I won't interfere if he chooses you once he is aware of himself. Kisses are all you are allowed, I know how he'll react if I forbid at least that." That brat would throw quite a tantrum. "If you can respect these terms then go to him now and finish your cake. We'll talk more at a later date."

"I haven't and don't dare to go much further than the general kissing," confessed Hymn, he wasn't that stupid. Returning to the kitchen a while later he discovered the cake finished and putting a kettle on the stove he let it heat up quickly. "Now, would you like some tea or some apple cider?" asked Hymn pulling out three cups for the each of them and pulling some ingredients out of his pocket. "Peppermint, Apple, or Cinnamon Tea," he mumbled looking over the three different herbs.
Possessing little interest in what happened to the cake Hymn prepared the tea as he heard Cada's choice and filled up the cups with their respective amounts. Putting them on the table he looked at Cada, "Would you like to cut the cake or me?" he asked teasing the other a bit before leaning back on the counter behind him to help him relax slightly.

Cada went for the Apple tea gleefully coming over to sit next to Hymn with a happy grin. "You can cut the cake if you want." He informed, always mindful of his father's safety warnings in the kitchen. He was not yet ready to start cutting things without injuring himself and others. For now he just enjoyed watching Hymn slice into the cake and handing off his slice to him on a small saucer. He dove in with gusto, completely ignoring the fork that had been placed next to him. With globs of the cake and frosting smeared on his cheek and lips he smiled up at his friend happy to spend the day with him.
"Hymn should spend the night with Cada. We can have a sleep over yes?" He asked. Marijus had just walked in at the time sighing to himself but putting up no fight. "If Hymn wants to stay you can have a sleep over but he'll have to use your sleeping bag okay?" Cada nodded at this turning quickly to address Hymn. "Will you stay?"
