dragontamer272 ~ChaosShadow50~ Well all I can say that I'm getting the game! So am I. Well one thing is, I think that they need to put more race characters on the besides 6, you know like Amy, Shadow, Espio, Vector, Charmy, Cream & Cheese, Chaos Zero, Tikal, Rouge, or maybe Eggman, maybe these characters should be playable don't you think? Umm... I already posted the confirmed 16 characters who are the only ones appearing in the game. As for me, I'm not getting it. I hate racing games with veichles. Sonic R was a novel game and fun, this is not Sonic R. This is wipeout with Sonic's head pasted on.

Because I have nothing better to do with my money than throw it at Sega, I'll probably be getting this. Although I'm racking up the piles of Sonic games I still haven't finished. Yep, Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes, Shadow, Sonic CD are all vying for my attention. Add that to newly-acquired Sam & Max Hit the Road and Earthworm Jim for PC and I find there aren't enough hours in the day smile

That looks very Sonic X, which is cool. Where'd you get the info from? Can you post a link (providing the site has no stuff over PG-13)?

I don't know if anyone has seen this yet, but here is the official Japanese site for the game, with pictures and info. (In Japanese, but still.) The fourth tab is character info and pictures. Eggman has a flatulence attack. Call me juvenile, but I find that hilarious. Nice find with that character select screen. However, those two robots look inconceivably lame to me. I'd much rather have Roboy from JSR:F. And another JSR character. Or Omega and a rebuilt Gamma. Or the Chaotix. Or Blaze. Or Mighty or Bean & Bark or Fang or Big or a Sonic character created outside of the games. Instead of those guys. Of course, I'll give them a chance, but... yeah.

I'm sure the robots were just added in as extras. I would have prefered the other choices as well, but nowadays Sega isn't exactly the most thoughtful gaming group out there.

I much rather have the Chaotix, Blaze, or maybe even Omega in the game (Any one of the them will probably still have a chance to be in the game, maybe as a unlockable chracter). The Chaotix do have the required abilities of Speed (Espio), Flight (Charmy), and Power (Vector) to make it through the tracks. Omega has Power to knock stuff out of the way and Blaze, I think (I dunno, I haven't played Sonic Rush yet) has his Speed... I think...

Sonic orignated from Japan and since all game ideas for Sonic come from Sega's headquaters, their website has more info. Even most japanese know who will be in the game period since they over there got a chance for demos.

*Grumble/whine* Why does the shortcut system, with Power/Fly/Speed types have to be so interesting?
Can't Sega stop tempting me with minor innovation? Why can't I just say "No. I hate racing games, I don't WANT this"

I'm looking forwards to the game, it'll be interesting to have a few new bird characters added, and the Extreme-Gear thing looks pretty good.

It's a racing game. I judge it as "it's a racing game" thusly, I wont like it, even if it's got Sonic's head pasted on it, it's a racing game, and I hate racing games. PS: Wipeout wasn't a description, it's the name of a game which uses hovercars and futuristic tracks. Sonic Riders looks just like it, with Sonic characters. The shortcut system is intriguing though.

So has anyone else picked up this game yet? I got it last Saturday and I've been playing it to death.
I have to say, I think it's really fun. And holy damn is it challenging! The learning curve, while actually kind of short, is pretty steep for this game. And the closest thing to practice mode is Time Attack, and a rather bare-bones tutorial video. But hey, I remember getting this frustrated sometimes when I played Mario Kart 64 lo those many years ago, so it's no biggie.
I suppose one could rent first to see how they like it, but I'm glad I got it. Now if only I had someone to play against...
