((I'm back! *does a backflip* You want to know what Nagi sleeps in? XD I could tell you that he wears a yukata before bed... but then he takes it off... but not his socks.))
Nagi was a bit too dazed to really feel the need to explain himself. In fact, when he was lifted to his feet and led away, he was having some trouble with remembering just where they were going. After a moment, he just figured that wherever he was going, it was good because Yuki, dawned in her rainbows and strange bird pajamas, was there with him. This had turned to be one heck of a night- getting clobbered in the head and landing on the ground after falling several feet- Nagi was relived that his little walk had worked for he was now ready to go to sleep.

The time had finally come. He had finally been accepted into a squad under the command of one of the Gotei Thirteen. Under the command of Captain Yukimaru, Zhen had joined Squad Thirteen, and he was on his way to introduce himself to the captain herself, as was customary. Walking down the patio, it wasn't but a few minutes before he was outside the sliding door leading to the captain's office. Sitting on his knees, he bowed and announced his presence. "Mashumaro Zhennu, here for formal introduction, Yukimaru-taichou." Zhen spoke, keeping his bowing posture and awaiting a response.

Yuki was in her office pushing yet more paperwork through. Naturally she was in a pissy state, and she had just finished putting through another newbies request to be in the squad.... When an announcement reached her ears of the new squad member in question was outside her door she sighed. Speak of the devil. She shook her head and looked around wondering if the poor kid was expecting their captain to be such a slob, with her room looking like a recent disaster aria.
"Come in."
She said, trying to break up the formal tone the kid had set for himself. She always seemed to get stuck with the formal ones, being a captain was bad enough without having to deal with formal crap back home. She gestured to the couch when the newbie entered.
"Do you have a preference in drink?"
She asked, thinking the answer was probably tea, as it was with so many other formal-loving squad members.

Something about the captain's voice told him that formality was a really stale subject with her. 'Phew, I was expecting to have to stick to rigid formality. Best to still be respectful, though.' Zhen thought to himself. Clearing his throat nervously as he entered, he was really thrown off guard when the captain actually asked him for a preference in drink. He asked as he stepped over a pile of finished paperwork and stood a few feet away from her desk. "Um, would you happen to have any hot cocoa...Yukimaru-san?" Zhen added the informal, yet respectful suffix to her name with a held breath sort of anticipation, unsure as to whether or not he should've addressed his captain in such a way.

Yuki was happy to watch his formal demener go down the toilet the second she gave any hint about it being old. Most people seemed to press on with the same formal attitude with the single mindedness of a bulldozer. With a content sigh she pointed to the cupboard to the left of her room that held an assortment of drinks, teas being the most well stocked for those formal people... And Nagi...
"There might be some hot cocoa in the back, it's mostly tea though. "
She said, getting up and preparing some hot water in a tea kettle wile she waited for Zhen to find something he wanted to drink. Dispite the fact that she was supposed to be having hot cocoa she put honey on the tray out of habit.
"So, what do you know? I read your general stats on your entrance papers, but those tend to be inaccurate as hell. "

Zhen relaxed seeing that he didn't receive some lecture on proper etiquette when addressing Yuki in an informal manner. As much respect as he held for his betters, formality in speech was one of things he tried to avoid doing. It always felt very stiff and boring to him. Following the captain's gesture to the cupboard, he pushed his glasses up on his nose and made his way to the cupboard. Sifting through all the teas—and boy, was there a lot of tea—he found a small box of cocoa and pulled two of the small packets out of the few there were, while replying to her question. "I know the basics, up to the first ten hadō and bakudō spells..." Zhen began as he returned with the packets of cocoa. "It...took me a little longer than the other students. The spells seemed to like backfiring more than anything." After multiple sessions of extra training with what extra time he could get his instructors to spare, he had finally managed to successfully learn the spells. "I received my Zanpakutou not long ago, but I still have yet to learn its name." Zhen placed his hand lightly on the handle of the sheathed katana as he held out the cocoa packets for Yuki to take. "Found some."

Yuki braught back the tray of hot water, cups, and honey. She still didn't know why she put the honey on the tray other than habit, then debated how it would taste in her cocoa as she set it down on the coffie table. She sat down on the couch across from Zhen and relaxed, expecting like all the other formal kids to make his own damn cocoa... And perhaps her own.
"You probably need to do some focusing exercises to keep crap from blowing up."
She said, trying to come up with some more basic ones so the poor kid didn't blow up his room trying them out.

Zhen took one of the packets from the tray, emptied the contents into his cup and poured some hot water into it. As he stirred his cocoa, he dropped in a handful of miniature marshmallows that seemed to, quite literally, appear out of nowhere. Taking a sip, he enjoyed the warmth of the drink and set his cup back down on the table. "Basic focusing...not one of my most outstanding subjects..." He sighed. Glancing at the captain's mug, he noticed she hadn't made hers yet. The next thing he thought of brought him to a bit of a dilemma. The proper thing to do would be to make her drink for her, but just a moment ago she had dispensed with formalities. Zhen couldn't help but feel like this was a sort of test. Formalities aside, leaving things as is could still be seen as rather rude, but then again, Captain Yuki seemed like a person who didn't expect things to be done for her. This inner debate went on for a few moments, during which he had taken another drink of his cocoa. To settle the matter, he opted for neither of the two courses of action by choosing a third, more impromptu one. "Would you like some marshmallows, Yukimaru-san?" Zhen asked, offering her a small handful of marshmallows that, like its predecessor, had seemingly appeared out of thin air.

Yuki couldn't belive how many marshmallows this kid just pulled out of, almost literaly thin air. She didn't even want to know where the hell he got them from in a place like the soul society, and as such she didn't dare try any of them for fear of some type of crazy poisoning.
"Umm... No thanks...."
She said, grabbing a mug and dumping water and powder into it almost at the same time, with a frown, this kid was weird. picking up a spoon she mixed the mug before sitting back on the couch again. She debated on how to show him a basic focusing trip over a cup of cocoa. Eventually she had it.
"Ok... well do you want to try one of them now?"

"Now? In your office?" Zhen asked with a hint of surprise in his voice as Yuki declined his offer, dropping the marshmallows into his own mug. He had caught the frown a moment before, feeling like he had messed up already somehow. 'Great...I've been in Squad Thirteen for not even a day and I've already made a mistake.' Sure, everyone made mistakes once in a while, but such a thing was easily worse when made in the presence of one's commanding officer. Maybe it was the marshmallows that did it. Even Zhen himself couldn't figure out where he got his seemingly endless supply of marshmallows, but it happened all throughout his training at the academy, so it had grown on him and even got him to like them. Not too long ago, he thought that it was probably connected to his death in the real world, but every time he dredged up that memory, a faint blush would come to his face because of how outright embarrassing it was for him. Pushing those thoughts aside, he took another sip of his cocoa. "It would be rude of me to decline such a gracious offer. Thank you, Captain." Zhen smiled, accepting her offer.

Yuki was practically able to run through the whole conversation she was holding with this kid in her head. The only variation she got was that he said "captain" rather than "Yuki-Taicho", but it was close enough. She took a sip of her cocoa, and poured some of the honey in it out of reflex, thinking her tea was rather heavy and needed more honey despite knowing better.
"Gracious... Sure."
She said, standing up with a board indifference as she walked to the cabinet next to her desk and began rummaging through the poorly organized cabinet filled with training tools. She picked out an orb that created a shield around one's self when riatsu was focused evenly, and passed it to Zhen as she sat back down and took a sip of her te-- BLECH! that wasn't tea! She spat out the concoction and set the strange drink on the table like it was a creature that might bite her.
"That's a fairly simple training tool. Just add riatsu, easy right?"

Zhen examined the small aquamarine orb with its odd design for a moment before looking up to the sound of Yuki spitting out her cocoa with the force of a handgun. "I read about this tool during my training." He began. "It generates a shield when one focuses their reiatsu at a steady and even pace, but..." Looking at the orb again, the effects of what would happen if someone failed to do played in his head. "...it's catastrophic if you lose your focus. As amusing as it would be, I don't want to wind up destroying your office—" The instant he played back the start of that last sentence in his mind, he shut himself up. Did he actually say that out loud? 'Brilliant. Freakin' brilliant, man. I need to stop thinking out loud.' "—what I mean is there's a great deal of risk involved when using it, as simple as it is." Feeling like a complete idiot, Zhen tried to focus his thoughts. If he wasn't calm and clear-minded, he would wind up destroying the office. 'Focus...chill...if you're lucky, she wasn't paying attention. That's wishful thinking.' He thought to himself as he held the orb in both hands. Steadying his breathing, he concentrated on focusing his spirit energy into the sphere steadily. The trick he had been taught by one of his instructors in the academy for focusing was to put everything else, every person, object, or distraction, out of your mind and think of only what you're focusing. In this case, the orb was the only thing he was thinking about, taking that gimmick to heart. Slowly, the orb began to glow and not a moment later, a shield formed around Zhen in the shape of a perfect sphere. 'Concentrate. Remain focused. No distractions...I wonder if she was offended by—no! Focus!' The moment his concentration had faltered, the edge of the sphere shuddered and prickled for a brief second before he got himself back on track, the shield maintaining its spherical shape.

Yuki was about to ask if the kid wanted to go outside if he was so worried about blowing something up, but the guy already started before she could voice any concerns. He seemed to be doing alright though, so she sat back and relaxed wile he went through the simple exercise. Just as he started to falter she calmly stood up and rolled him out the door. With any luck he wouldn't start to panic until they where outside. In mid roll a hell butterfly came to her shoulder and commanded she at a meeting of the utmost urgency.
"Sorry, captain's business. Gatta' run."
She said, giving the orb one last kick out the door before heading to the first squad's meeting hall.

After some time had passed since Yuki's departure a leopard doll walked into the office, sliding the doors open as if they had no locks at all and leading Maxi into the office. Robin himself pirched on a desk.
"The current Vice captain is on leave."
He said, reporting to Maxi.
