Winter. The reply surprised him as he was a summer person himself. "I'd say I'm a summer person myself. Bright sunny days fill the sky from morning till night."
They walked down the street, passing shop after shop. A coffee shop seemed to catch Mark's attention, perhaps out of familiarity. "Hey, why don't we stop by here and grab a bite to eat? I'm starving." he said, making a cute puppy-eyed, frowning face while rubbing his stomach gently.

That struck a little twinge in her heart. She smiled warmly, "Sounds good." she walked into the coffee shop, looking around. The smells made her feel warm inside.
"Elizabeth!" someone called, rushing over.

The sound of someone else calling Elizabeth startled Mark. 'Is this someone we know?' He looked around for the person who called out to her, hoping that he would remember the person if he you them.

The girl hugged Elizabeth, "Oh hun, you're out!" The girl had a heavy southern accent.
"Um... hello..." she replied, looking at the person. They looked a lot alike actually.
"And Mark! You two are always together aren't you?"

Mark felt flushed a bit when the girl commented on them being together, but looked at the girl puzzled, wondering how she knows the both of them and to what extent. "We just got out of the hospital and thought we'd grab a bite to eat." he said, "Sorry, but I don't quite remember who you are.." He turned toward Elizabeth, trying to determine whether she recognized her.

Elizabeth didn't recognize the girl either.
"Oh, sorry," she smiled, "I'm Salli, Elizabeth's sister."

Mark felt embarrassed not knowing a person he was suppose to, especially Elizabeth's sister. "No wonder you two look so similar, " he said, "Why don't we all sit down and grab a bite?"

"Oh no! I wouldn't want to interupt your date!" She smiled, "I'll see you later~!" Salli left.
Elizabeth watched her go. "She's a good cook." she remembered, saying it aloud.

Mark waved at Salli as she left, then turned his attention to Elizabeth.
"Do you remember something?" Mark said, wishing he could remember something about Salli himself.
"Anyway, you just have a seat and I'll go get us something to eat."
A few minutes later, Mark came back with two plates of a slice of strawberry cheesecakes and two cups of warm cocoa. "Hope you like this," he smiled. "So are you starting to remembering something about Salli?"

She smiled, sipping her cocoa. "She used to own this place... but she sold it to a friend of hers... I think... we used to come here a lot..." she replied, remembering that about themselves.

"That would explain why I thought this place was familiar," Mark said, remembering that there was an air of familiarity about this place when he first suggested it.
Then a memory came back to him, a very strong one. "I think we had our first date here, too," he said. He stared at her and admired her. Then he looked away and grabbed his cocoa before she could notice him staring.
(( I have to go. I'll be back on later! The story is really picking up! ))

She smiled, looking into her cup. "We did... we ordered strawberry cheesecake and hot cocoa..." she laughed, "Your scarf blew off when we went outside and we had to chase it across town!"

Mark laughed as the memories of the two of them running down the street chasing his scarf returned to him. "I remember it now. We were lucky that street-lamp stopped it when it did or we would have been chasing it for another half hour."

She smiled, pulling the scarf she wore over her nose. She blinked at it, realizing it was his. She smiled, the rest of the memory playing out in her head. He'd wrapped the scarf around her neck and kissed her. It was a really sweet memory. She wondered if they were still together, or if they were just friends.

Mark finished up his cake and grasped his drink. He continued to play the memory in his head, then remembering a place he had taken her.
"Hey, I have a surprise for you," he said. "When we're done here, I'll take you to it."
