Genji walked into Yamoto's office timidly. He wished to request kido training.
"Hello, Yamoto-san," said Genji with a bow. "It is an honor to make you aquaintance. I have heard that you are a master of kido. I come to you wishing to learn."

As he came to the door, Genji stopped and stood there silently. He had just witnessed his own lieutenant get beat near to death and could not help because of his low level of ability. Right now Genji wanted training to become stronger. Yamoto was his teacher, so Genji felt he could seek comfort from him.
"Yamoto-sensei," said Genji as he knocked on the door, "may I speak with you?"

"I have been doing some thinking," said Genji. "Things have been odd. My lieutenant, Xeion Kuchiki, was attacked by a Bount. The Bount was doing well at subduing my lieutenant and another ranked Squad Nine member. In the battle, Xeion-san summoned a lot of power. I couldn't do a thing because the enemy and circumstances were too freaky. I wish that I could have done more. My lieutenant is badly injured, and his attacker is still loose. I need to become stronger. Yamoto-sensei, I wish to train. If you are too busy, please direct me in the right direction."
