Sortai laughed."You'll survive without alcohol for a few days. Anyway, if we do get to a market, it'll be later than sooner. We're way out in the forest, and the nearest town is Keyeu, which is still probably ruined." He looked under his cloak and pulled out a small bottle."Anyway, here's your 'extra ration' you told me to keep.". He oput it back away, then looked at the deer. He heard a crack. He froze."Were not alone."He mumbled, attempting to get across his message with as little movement and sound as he drew his sword.

Teka placed his hand on his head. "Why is it that every time I start drinking, some sort of violence happens?" Teka gave Sortai an angry look. "Don't answer that." Teka unstrapped his claymore. "I guess this is better than when I don't know what I'm hitting....Or if I hit anything."

"From the sound of it, its large. Probably some gryphon or a dragon, or something like that. Meesha, can you help us? I doubt if its a dragon Teka and I could take it down alone." He said, turning toward the woods where the noises were coming from. He ran his gloved finger along the blade, then held it out, anticipating the beasts attack.

“Hu?” Meesha drew the wooden block she called a sword, and shimmied her bow off her shoulder. “What is it? What do you-?” Meesha stopped mid sentence she heard foot steps. Light but just heavy enough for her to hear them. Her green eyes shone with curiosity. She led the big brown horse off the path, slightly. Lamkit said this to all “Ok I sense an unknown presence. Not Elfin, not human either, nor demon. But how could I knot know?” Empi neighed urgently. “Uh stay calm girl.” Meesha whispered to the horse, “we should keep moving.”

Sortai turned."If you move too much, you'll give away our position. Was that your ferret that just spoke to me-" As he finished his sentence, an explosion of wood and foliage, and where the trees once were, now stood a dragon, around ten feet tall. Sortai froze, his weapon still pointed at the dragon. it scanned the clearing, looking apparently for the weakest target.

“Wholly godmother of Christ.” Meesha exclaimed as she pulled out an arrow out of her Quiver “I read once that dragons use treasure to put on their underbellies because that’s their weakest point.” Meesha said quietly. Just then the dragon swung it’s tail around and knocked down three trees.

Teka began to laugh. "I've only been awake for an hour and I'm already in a hellhole." Teka looked at his claymore, then at the dragon. "Then again, we haven't had any action for awhile have we?" The beast turned to Teka, who brought it's attention with his rambling. Teka grinned, "This should be entertaining."

“He must have a death wish. Well I have one too!!!” Meesha pulled the string back, waiting for just the right moment. But she stopped her self. She saw the glisten of diamonds, rubies, emeralds, and gold, all on the under side of the beast. “Aim for the belly!!! And rip off some of the gold while you’re at it!!!” Meesha called to the boys. She knew that they where much stronger and skilled in doing this sort of thing

As the dragon turned its attention to Teka, Sortai attempted to move around it and attack from the rear.He attempted to circle around quicker, but it noticed him."Someone distract it!",he said, as its eyes followed him.

Teka moved in as Sortai called for help. He attemted to slash at it's cheast, but was knocked back by it's claw. "You'll pay for that..." Teka struggled to stand as the dragon closed in on him.

Meesha grabbed a rock off the ground and thru it at the dragon. It was hit right in the head. Running for her dear life, Meesha heard a small babbling brook. Using all the force she could she pulled the water from its path sending it through the air all over the dragon. Just then it bellowed fire gathering up the discarded water she shielded her self. “Good enough distraction for you?” Meesha called.

Sortai laughed."Sure is." The dragon had completely forgotten about him, and he began closing in from behind, watching its chest and stomach for an opening. He leaped just as soon as the dragon raised to attack the other two, and closed his eyes as his sword moved toward the dragons chest. He hoped for a hit...

It had tricked him. As his sword neared its chest, so close it almost touched, the dragon turned and roared. Sortai was frozen to the spot. It raised its clawed foot, apparently intending on killing him quickly. He raised his sword, but there wasn't much that he could do...

Teka nodded and rushed in once more, this time dodging the claws that swung at him. Teka managed to get one clean slash at the chest before being picked up and thrown into a tree. "Son of...a...." Teka sat there, as blood started dripping from his arm.
