Julie squeaked, hearing her protectors moving away. "Wait for me!" She trotted after them, her staff knocking randomly against her side and the ground. Apparently, the humans were scared of her new friends, because though she could smell them close around her, no one touched her. No, she did enough damage to herself when she tripped over her own feet and tumbled into Fin's back. Someone laughed harshly at her klutziness, and Julie apologized profusely as she pulled herself and her friend to their feet. "I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to knock you down! I'm so clumsy, please forgive me!"

"Oh, you stupid kids!" Kouri wasted no time escaping, as the crowd below seemed to explode. Fists flying, rocks thrown, he could see someone take out a knife as they ran away. His eyes were still attached to the Underlings and fellows who managed to escape with hardly any problems. He climbed the balcony again, this time hopping the roofs. He watched as some stayed behind, as others entered an alleyway. "Awh, shucks." He tapped his foot, thinking of a way to keep his view. The alleyway was right in front of him, he knew that, but parts of the top were covered by clothes on drying lines. He needed a way down, but to go back meant trouble. He moved on, looking for a better area to get down. Then again... he went back towards the marketplace. Perhaps he could a little bit. Or perhaps the commotion had died... but the angry shouts confirmed his suspicions of the crowd riot. Out of the corner of his eyes though, he could see guards getting ready to charge the place. They didn't need a riot. He needed to hasten.

((Woot! Time for more action!) Fin let out a small yelp as Julie ran into her back, knocking her over. More surpried than hurt, Fin started to laugh as her friend helped her up and frantically tried to apologize. "Don't worry about it, it was just an accident", Fin said with a kind smile. She stretched her back out and sat down against the wall of the alley. Fin hadn't realized that she was so exausted. Absent-mindedly, she scooped up a small shadow that was by her hand and made it shimmer and dance like black fire. Looking back at the group, Fin repeated herself again, "Any idea what we-" She never got to finish her sentence; a loud, in-human roar came from the center of the marketplace, followed by the sound of humans screaming and running away. Fin lept to her feet and grabbed her staff from where it usually rested on her back. "What the hell was that?!" Fin exclaimed.

"Fin, something is wrong." Ken said as he caught up. "I don't know what, but the humans are all scrambling about." Ken gripped his sword. "What should we do?"

"I don't know what's going on but I don't like it." She looked at the others. Why were they standing around? "Would you hurry up before they kill us?" Lianna shouted. Several cats ran in and followed her. "I didn't mean you but alright." She said to the cats. Again, Lianna looked to the others. "Hurry up." She said as she motioned then in the building.

Fin looked at Ken with an unsure look on her face. "I don't know," She said and turned to Lianna and continued, " I'm just going to go see what's causing all the chaos." Fin lept at the alley way's wall and crawled up it like a lizard. She heaved herself over the edge of the wall and looked over to where the marketplace was. Fin let out a little gasp of shock and clenched the stone underneath her feet to keep herself from falling off the roof. A giant beast was tearing apart the marketplace, literally. It was ripping off chunks of homes and stone parapets and throwing them at the fleeing people. The abomination let out a massive bellow, making the house Fin was standing on quake. "Guys," Fin called down to the group, "We've got a BIG problem..." ((Here's what the monster is supposed to look like 'cause I was too lazy to describe it. http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll1/Selfinae/P6190228-2.jpg The little person is for a size comparison, just in case you guys wanted to know how big this thing really is...))

Ken jumped up to the roof and saw the beast. "Big would be an understatement." he said. He unsheathed his sword ans held it at the ready. "Your the boss, what should we do?"

Lianna groaned and went back into the market place. But once she saw the beast she stopped. "Now that's a face only a mother would love. Ok maybe not even that." The beast roared as it threw another hut out of its way. "I saw we let it have the humans. After all they do deserve it." As the beast walked forward, a little girl stood frozen. Lianna waited for the girl to move but she never did. The little girl just stood there and cried for her mother. The child couldn't have been more than five years of age. Lianna groaned and ran towards the child. She picked her up just as the beast was letting down his foot. Lianna stopped in front of a building as the beast just kept walking. A woman came and picked up her child.
"Thank you Underling." The woman said as she hugged her child. "Thank you."
"The Underlings aren't bad you know. Just because we're different doesn't mean that we don't have feelings or emotions the same as you." Lianna told her. The woman gave her a smile and ran toward shelter, away from the beast. Lianna looked up at the beast. "Now what do we do about Mr. Stinky?"

Kouri stared at the behemoth. Giant thing was going to kill all of them. "Are you kidding me?" He rubbed his eyes to make sure he wasn't dreaming. His vision remained the same. "Oh..." He kneeled on his right knee, bringing his hands together. A slight blue glow surrounded him. He stood back up, swinging his bladed pole around. His trusted kwan dao wouldn't do much, but he would what he could. He ran towards the beast. He jumped several roofs before reaching the target. The buildings were only at the beasts knee at most. He jumped stabbing his polearm into the beasts leg. The blade barely penetrated the skin. A shock ran up Kouri's arm as he pulled the weapon away. At least he had made a mark, it was good enough, but the skin was almost like armor. Who sent this thing out anyways. He jumped away, landing on the ground and rolling before the monster swatted him with its massive claws. It was just him, a swarming and scared human crowd, and the giant in front of him. "This isn't what I think of as a normal day you know." He said pointing his weapon at the beast.

Julie, blindfolded and unsure of quite where she was, froze at the sound of an earth-shaking roar. Screams of terror and the fear in her friend's voices told her that whatever was making the noise was a problem that could potentially kill them all. She gripped her staff tighter, trembling. Whatever it was smelled strongly of blood, beast-sweat and the Vein. It roared again, and this time the girl heard pain in its bellow. Lianna was speaking calmly to a human, but she couldn't make out exactly what the Underling was saying. Unsure of what to do, Julie stood where she was, huddled against the wall just inside the alley. The beast wasn't more than a dozen yards from where she was, but without the guidance of the human's voices and echoes of her own high-pitched clicks to guide her, she was as blind. The monster's roars made her quite helpless. She couldn't removed her blindfold, for the sunlight would blind her, and she couldn't navigate by sound, so she stayed still, hoping she would be able to stay out of the way. If only Leon was here... Julie thought in anguish. Her brother had taught her to respond to his commands when blindfolded. The beast roared once more, its voice echoing with Vein-power. The Underling took a subconscious step forward, wishing she could help.

Lianna looked back at the beast. She closed her eyes and the wind took her to the top of a building. When she opened her eyes again, the beast hadn't seemed to notice. She began to run swiftly on top of every building. Finally, when she was close enough she jumped off and unto the beast. Lianna clawed, bit and scratched every place she could in the neck. She jumped down but noticed one thing. The beast didn't even realized it. The skin was too tough. Lianna cursed under her breath. "I need something." She said to herself.

Julie tried to calm herself. What could she do? Suddenly it hit her. Her power! Maybe if they knew what drove the monster, they could turn it back! It was the only thing she could think of, and she grasped at it desperately. Opening her mind to the near-palpable emotions about her, Julie centered on the things that Felt like Under. Lianna was angry and scared. Fin Felt just scared. Fin's friend, Ken seemed shocked but not altogether frightened. A new presence that labeled itself "Kouri" in her mind, Felt worried and angry. Julie took all this in within a split second, analyzing emotions and setting them aside. The beast, she could sense with ease. It's mind roiled with combined fear and bloodlust, the most prominent being the hatred of a man wearing a black cloak. Startled, Julie "looked" closer. The monster had been brought here against its will. It was confused, the light hurt its eyes and it was hungry. This was not its home in the cool mountain tunnels it was used to. This place was strange and noisy and hot and smelly. Julie lurched to her feet and made her way by touch to the place where she Felt her friend Fin, the only one who wasn't trying to fight the beast. "Fin!" When The Underling reached the rooftop perch, she told the girl what she had found, or as much of it as she could explain. "What does it mean?" She asked, fear creeping into her voice despite her efforts to the contrary.

((This brings me to ask, but why is this RP "closed?"--title))
Kouri ran up the beasts leg, a desperate move. He grabbed a hair, swinging himself higher. He sent a wave of snow through his body, slightly chilling parts of skin. It was hardly effective though as the beast continued its incessant swattings and shaking. "Stop moving you big oaf!" He swung himself to its chest, panting for breath. Why's it have to be so damn big? He could only imagine where the thing came from. He sent a wave through his hands, concentrating a blast of ice in one spot. The freeze wave did nothing effectively to say. A single claw smacked Kouri away into a different building...

Lianna watched Kouri's attempts and watched as he was thrown into another building. She ran to him. "Are you ok?" She asked him. Lianna looked back at the beast as it roared. "How would you feel about a combined attack?" To her it was worth a shot. No one would be able to take down the beast by themselves but maybe if they worked together. "I must admit I've never worked with a human before. Actually, I've never really met a human before. My father always told me that they were skum but if we can't defeat the beast now he will most likely find where the Underlings live. I can't stand to see my people suffer so I say we destroy it now." Lianna waited for him to answer. She never thought she would be working with a human.

((Sorry, I more or less meant "no longer accepting", not that the rp itself was closed. Sorry about any confusion! sweatdrop ))
Fin gave a little jump as Julie called to her. She had been so shocked by the size of the creature, that she just couldn't move at all. She had just been staring into space. Fin turned to face Julie. "I'm not too sure what it means...," Fin paused, frowning, "Wait! You said that the thing was brought here, right? Maybe there's a way to send it back, wait, no, the amount of energy that would be required to send this creature any distance away would be too great for us to handle. But there may be a way to beat this thing... Julie, can you locate any weak spot on the beast?" Fin turned back to where the creature was still wreaking havoc and noticed that Lianna and a human were trying to fight it. Without thinking, Fin called out to them. "Lianna, focus your efforts on finding a weak spot, the creature should have one!" Fin shouted out, waving her arms frantically.
