Piney wondered what Twilight had said to Prince, then decided that it probably wasn't very nice, whatever that was. Sighing, she was sorta glad that he was already at half health, but since he could still do devastating damage to her, this now required a different strategy.
"Use Ice Beam and try to freeze him!"
Staring up at the Pidgeot, Twilight gathered some frost in her mouth and aimed it at the flying Pokemon. A beam of ice sped towards him, so could that it could immobolize him if it made contact. Never mind that this is a desert environment...

The icebeam already hinted that Prince was going to have trouble in the battle. Before with Daybreak, Luna did not have to worry about supereffective moves, but now it was going to be a fairly large threat to her. "I guess we'll have to endure then~" She said to Prince who almost completely ignored his trainer as he shot up in the air to avoid the icebeam. He had no time to waste on listening to blabble that was not an attack.
Luna understood this and focused on the battle again. No more small talk. "Okay, guess we'll be using u-turn again Prince!"
The pidgeot already knew the attack before Luna even announced it and was halfway towards Twilight by the time the trainer had finished her sentence. Prince glowed green as he flew quickly and sliced across Twilight's side.

That definitely hurts a lot. Without a defense boost, Twilight was getting more of a beating than the Espeon before her, and she didn't really know any moves to boost it...
"Try another ice beam to freeze him!" It was more important to disable him than to inflict more damage. That's what Piney thought anyway.
Whimpering at how much the peck injured her, she straightened herself and launched a freezing ray at him. He was going to pay for that and taking down her mommy!

It looked like Prince dealt quite a bit of damage to Twilight with his latest attack, which was a good sign. There was hope. Or not. Luna bit her lip as she saw that Twilight's latest icebeam had grazed Prince's wings and ice was now crawling up Prince's left wing.
The pidgeot gave a "ge" of agitation as he slowly descended onto the ground, the steadily-growing weight on his wing pulling him down.

Piney sighed with relief as Twilight's second ice beam hit and froze his wings. They weren't out of the woods yet though. The desert sun was already melting the ice off and soon Prince would be able to attack again.
"Ok quickly! Use Rock slide!"
Twilight had a smile of satisfaction on her face when she saw the bird frozen. She did it! But all too soon Piney was already shouting out another command.
Dashing over to some rocks, she picked them up and threw them at her opponent. It was hard at first, but she was able to launch a great deal of rocks into the air that hurled down to the ground or anyone that was in the way.

"PRINCE! Rocks coming at you from straight ahead!" Luna warned, noticing that her pokemon was more focused on staying in air than looking out for attacks.
Prince heard the warning a bit too late. Just as he shook off the last piece of ice on his wings, he was hit straight on his head crest by a sizeable rock. The force directed on his head was enough to set him off balance and falling backwards down into the hot sand.
The pidgeot let out a furious cry, flapping to get up and trying to claw an invisible non-existant enemy ontop of him.
"Whoa whoa, Priiiiiiince! Calm down." Luna ordered with a firm voice, willing Prince to obey her. With one final loud cry, Prince paused his thrashing, sensing a rare serious tone in Luna's voice. The trainer smiled, relieved that Prince still obeyed her.
"Alright~! Now, your target is nearly straight ahead, roll and go for another u-turn!"
In one swift motion, Prince oriented himself correctly again and dashed off in flight parallel to the ground in a dangerously low altitude. He knew he had to get moving or else his opponent would take the opportunity to strike him while he was down.
The pidgeot scanned his surroundings for his enemy, already glowing green to prepare for his u-turn attack. As soon as Prince could lock on his target, he would in a flash second use everybit of his flying skills to go full speed to land more damage on his opponent. He refused to go down without at least getting the opponent down to half HP. It was his pride.

They almost defeated Prince! Sure that her Pokemon was going to not do so well against Luna's next Pokemon, but she wouldn't win without at least one Pokemon fainting.
Piney would've shouted out a dodge command, but it was too late. Twilight took the u-turn and staggered backwards, still with some fight in her.
"Another rock slide!"
The Absol had enough strength to dash over to another patch of rocks and throw them at the flying opponent. She made sure to aim carefully because he wouldn't stay still anymore from his frozen status.

Prince knew know to watch his back as he flew so it was no surprise to him that yet another barrage of rocks were flying towards his back when his trainer shouted his name in alert of another attack.
Prince managed to turn in another loop to dodge the oncoming rocks but he still got pelted a bit in parts of his body. He knew he couldn't keep this up much longer.
"Looks like the battle's heating up..." Literally and metaphorically. Prince was on the verge of fainting and the heat from the desert felt like it was getting even more searing. But the heat from the desert wouldn't stop until the battle was over, just like how Prince would not stop his advancing attacks.
"GEOOOOOOO!"
The pidgeot flew back towards absol's face, a green trail of energy trailing behind him.

Twilight was knocked backwards for some distance before getting up again. She was weakening, but she would able to defeat Prince the next turn with some luck.
"We're almost there!" Piney called out in encouragement. "Ice beam to finish him off!"
Her command seemed to give her some spirit as she fired another frozen beam at the Pidgeot. She wouldn't let her down!

Luna knew that Prince was on his last ounce of HP. The determined Pidgeot had put up a great fight, defeating almost all of Bouncy's team. She really didn't want to see him fall here. "Crap, PRINCE!"
Prince knew that another attack was coming - he didn't need a warning for it. The pidgeot put a valient effort in making another loop in the air to dodge the attack, but halfway through he got dizzy. Perhaps he was getting old? No, it was just probably the damage from the attacks. Darn. He was so tired.
The icebeam hit straight on, letting freezing ice crawl up Prince. The pidgeot let out one last valient cry and flap of wings in an attempt to regain his altitude before resuming with his fall. Luna gave a sad smile, Prince had just taken too much damage.
"Good job Prince, take a rest then."
A red light bursted out from the center of Luna's pokeball and hit Prince, sucking the pidgeot back safetly into the ball.
"We'll get you to the center soon, thanks for such a great job." Luna took a deep breath, knowing the battle was almost finished but she still had to be on her toes. Prince's pokeball suddenly decreased to it's compressed size as another pokeball enlarged.
"Albireo!"
This time, a white light came out from the enlarged ball, allowing a muli-color eyed dewgong to burst out with a trademark stupid-looking grin on his face. But Albireo soon discovered he did not like this field at all. It was way too hot! His tongue felt dry immediately.

"Hm? A dewgong in the desert field?" Piney wasn't sure what Luna was up to. She first wondered how he would attack Twilight with no bodies of water to move around in. Then figured that it wouldn't take much to knock her out anyway, since she was already at low health.
"You must have one heck of a plan..." She muttered and eyed the battle carefully. There was a slim chance that they could pull this off.
Twilight wasn't fazed by the unusual circumstances and approached Albireo with a smile. "*Hi! What's your name?*" She asked while wagging her tail. "*I'm Twilight!*"

Albireo tilted his head at the absol, feeling a bit faint from the desert heat. The absol that just approached him now looked like a tasty pile of rice and black beans. Mmm. The dewgong looked blankly at Twilight. "|=0o00o000c|"
Luna didn't need to speak pokemon to understand what that meant. She slapped her forehead. Albireo was delirious from the heat. Who knew when the dewgong would loose it and try to EAT the absol? Oh god. Maybe choosing Albireo for this match wasn't such a good idea.

Piney didn't mind that her Pokemon was being friendly, but she was a bit worried about Albireo. He sounded hungry, even though she was a bit too big to fit in his mouth (hopefully).
So she would go first this round. That's nice. "Lower his attack with Growl!"
Twilight unfortunately didn't understand leet, and thought that his growl was his actual name. "*Er, nice to meet you?*"
Then she heard Piney's command and wandered up to him and growled cutely. She was young enough to have this kind of effect on anyone...

Albireo blinked as his food infront of him growled. Was food suppose to growl? Or maybe it was his stomache. He was awfully hungry right now. Maybe that also explained why he was feeling a bit faint.
Luna frowned at the growl attack. Well, this would certainly hinder the battle. But if they moved on the offensive now, they could probably end the battle within a few hits. "Hey, 'bireo, Snap out of it! Signal beam!"
The dewgong shook his his head to get it clear again. He had to push down his hunger! Luna would probably feed him afterwards anyways...he wanted afterwards to come real soon too. Without warning, three colorful lights flickered around Albireo's horn and quickly shot out circling in a beam towards the absol that was right infront of him.

Twilight whimpered as the shiny attack launched her into the air. She landed on the ground and still managed to get up, but she was getting really tired. Why did the pretty attacks have to be so hurtful?
Well at least they would be hanging in there. Piney doubted that she could knock him out before he would with a lot of attacking so it's time for something different.
"Freeze him!"
Freeze him? Wasn't a Dewgong an ice type? Twilight didn't know how that would be possible but she fired an extra-cold beam at him, just in case.
