Sorren was begining to relax when a startling scream rang through his ears. He blinked, somewhat stunned at the torn, shaken angelic who sat beside him. What was this sudden change in mood? It was as if the hidden pain in her eyes had revealed itself. "K-kaze...?" he sat up touching the tip of his tail to her side, trying to comfort her without frightening her more. "Kaze," he murmured. "Nothing's here to harm you... What's wrong...?"

"No! No! I'm sorry! I didn't mean it! No! Please!" Tears flowed and she was caught up in the flashback. "No..." Kaze stopped backing up and cringed. Soon, the cringing stopped, but the tears didn't. "Don't! Please! I'm sorry... I'm sorry..." Suddenly, the vixen collapsed and covered her head with her paws. Sobs echoed through the empty shop.

"Kaze..." He nudged her lightly in the shoulder with his muzzle. "It's not your fault..." He tried to understand what she felt, he truly tried to make the pain stop. "You can't let the fear control you..." He murmured softly into her ear as he pressed against her to support her shaking frame. "Please," he spoke lightly, muzzle still against her shoulder. "I... want to help..."

"It IS my fault Sorren. It's ALL my fault... I shouldn't have said that... I didn't mean it... But I suffered and so did Mizu. Now I am a nasty creature that roams about with nowhere to go..." She shook her head, sobbing. Kaze turned and hid her face in Sorren side. She wiped her eyes furiously. I shouldn't be crying! I'll find Mizu someday and everything will be like it was before. I swear I will!

The demon lowered his gaze and draped his wing over her. "Everyone seems to suffer from the reality of this world, one way or another. As much as we hate this aspect, life brings change. What's in the past is in the past. Even if there aren't others who can feel the pain you felt before, it's always calming to know you have someone by your side when you face reality..." He choked slightly for air as that was the most he had ever said at once. Regaining his breath, he placed his muzzle atop her head. "We can't fix the past, but if you'd be willing to accept my help, we can rebuild a better present..." He sighed softly and closed his eyes. "And for the record," he murmured. "You're the most beautiful fox I've ever met... physically and mentally..."
It seemed the more time he spent with Kaze the more of these emotions spilled out.

The dim light in the shop cast their rays on Sorren. Kaze looked at the happening and was tempted to lay back down on his fur. She really WAS tired, but so afraid that the nightmare will come back. “Th-Thank you...” she murmured. Nodding her head she spoke. “I am... willing... I guess...”
No one had ever said that she was beautiful before. Unless Mizu counts, but in her mind he didn’t because he was her brother. “Beautiful...” she whispered. The hole in her chest, where her heart was supposed to be, always hurt. With Sorren, the pain was bearable. Most of the time it wasn’t even there. He helped her more than he knew. Slowly, his company would heal her wound until it was gone. Never had she cared what someone thought about her or if she was pretty and all that stuff most females worry about. But now... now that he’d said it... it made her know what it was like to have someone who sincerely cared.
“You’re wonderful...” she whispered before laying her head on him. “Mmm...” she muttered about his warm, soft, fur, and took in his scent.

Sorren nodded softly as she accepted his offer for help. In truth, appearances had never mattered to him before. He didn't believe in perfection or imperfection. Everyone was different, and you could never know someone by what they looked like. He perfered to look past the outside of a person like looking past a cover to read a book. When he read part of Kaze's story and saw the pain and fear she tried to fight, new meanings and emotions opened to him that made the demon look at Kaze as the most beautiful angel he had ever seen.
Wing still draped over Kaze, Sorren curled around the femme, allowing her to rest her head against his flank. "I'm so glad to have you by my side..." He murmured softly. Sorren brushed her forehead lightly with his muzzle before his silver eyes met her red gaze. The webs on her fur glistened softly like dew in the dim light. He would never leave her. He would always be by her if she was frightened or harmed... He would always be next to her, to wake her from the nightmares.
