The Chinese youth watched Scyeth stalk off, sighing before nodding to the boy who now clutched his hat. Not that RuiZhi should refer to him as a boy, as he looked as old, if not older than himself. "Yeah, they will, we're just seeing who's--"
Someone yelled his sister's name, making the young man jump, looking over just in time to see a wisp of black hair before the door to the building closed. He saw Lorioth try to open the door. Saw the door not opening. Registered that the circuits were down, and his sister had just run into a burning building with no immediate means of escape.
He said nothing, turning in what felt like slow motion. It was like China, wasn't it? When she had run off? When she'd made them all think for three days that she and the students might have died. She wouldn't have three days in there, and whoever she'd gone after...
Before he knew what to think, RuiZhi was bolting for the door. He didn't know what he'd do when he got there, but he'd do something, anything to pry the door open, even if it cost him his hands...

Alex watched in mute horror as one boy wandered over and kicked another right in his leg. Oh lord, were all these boys so mean? Okay, not that he was some saint. His brother and he had done a few unsavory deeds to scrape by, but not so unprovoked. Sasha decided to take a few steps away, just in case the blond wasn't done with his rageful rampage.
His little fingers started rubbing his fur hat raw with anxiety. He just wanted to go back up to his room and go to sleep with his brother. Just as he placed his hat back on his head, too afraid he'd lose it any other way, the mute voices of the teachers erupted in a shout, the building right a long side with a bright flash. That couldn't be good. He looked back to the others and stuttered as the one boy who grabbed him shot off towards the door. Was he crazy? "Hey what--?!"

As the Aussie punk approached, and Nat knew he would eventually (for avoiding that brat was like pulling a blanket over your head to avoid the Plague), he protectively pulled Jaden a little closer to him. No fire or stupid child was going to hurt his blonde friend. Himself, he didn't care for so much. He knew he could take care of things. The Brit was definitely independent enough for that much as well as his research.
However, smiling pleasantly at the obviously sarcastic and unkind remarks, he could not help the shock that ran through the body when he kicked him. For a moment, he stood stark still and then his eyes widened just enough to make his twitch obvious. Before he could stop his body, he'd dropped to his knees, his one leg unable to quite support him at this point. It was definitely jarred and he knew, as a researcher of human body parts, that he'd have to lay off it as best he could for now. It didn't help that the boy had begun to exact his revenge on a night like this.
And it didn't help his pride. His face and eyes burned and he felt a true hatred for that punk. It went beyond aliens now. Beyond research, manners, and proper senses of morality. He just plain hated him. And silently, along with repeating his vow for revenge on the aliens beneath his breath, he declared war on Scyeth.
Unfortunately, he didn't have long to mull over these sentiments because there was screaming in the direction of the burning building. His eyes widened: it was a teacher. It was one of the doctors. It was over. A woman had run inside, the door had slammed shut and now there was a student and a teacher rushing over to help. At this point, he'd realized he'd let go of Jaden for fear of hurting him when he'd fallen, and now he looked up at the other and tried to force himself to stand. It wasn't fair for him to be weak right now. Not when he could be needed. The shock that was sharp was dulling now, but not gone. He forced himself to stand, placing his other foot on an angle loosely behind him. He was not keen on putting his weight on it. Desperately, in a sign he prayed no one would see, for only Jaden was allowed to see the pain and weakness on his features, he grabbed the boy's shoulder roughly and gripped it tight. It was support for now.
He longed to go too, but there had to be something more practical. He looked around, setting his mind on trying to figure out a better way to open the door than bare hands. There had to be something!
Sir Ardanay Veilwood was not so lucky. The second Alex had gone running, Lorioth had gone too. Ardanay's eyes went wide for a moment, wondering what on this good Earth the doctor was doing? He'd seen the two of them talking before and had not thought much of it, but definitely something was up now. Someone had to still be in there. No one would go running into a burning building for nothing, not unless they had a death wish. And Professor Veilwood was certainly positive none of the teachers had those.
It was insensible. And yet, he had an urge to run over too. Calming this urge he looked to Dante, wondering what the elf had in mind. He had just been about to reply before the others had run off. He ran his hand nervously through forest green hair, his eyes narrowing in thought. That was his building, he should know a way to get inside, or at least to stop the fire. Wasn't there an emergency sprinkler system to help stop fires? He was sure Shinkami had something at least that advanced, if not more. Only a chemical or magical fire could get this big and not be dissuaded by water. Think Ardanay. Think. When the pressure came down to it, he had to calm his mind and figure it out.
"It had to be some kind of chemical explosion," he stated out loud before watching Lorioth continue to swipe his card at the door. Another way in... another way in... was there one?

He had felt the female rush past him and he prayed that she wasn't going to repeat what she had done in China. Unfortunately she did just that. He growled underneath his breath, "Alex you idiot!" God dammit he didn't dare even think what she was thinking. The building was burning! They had authorities to take care of this, not her.
He watched as Professor Manneth attempt to open the doors to no avail. He let out a lengthy curse. The male moved back to his brother, knowing that he probably had seen too. Suddenly Rui was right in front of him and Wei grabbed onto the boy tightly. ""

This isn't going well at all, even for response to something like this. Not that I should know proper response to a building exploding, but . . .
Micajah scowled as he retraced everything that happened all in blink of an eye. A woman called Alex had run off into the building with no means of getting back out. The small RuiZhi had run off after her without any hesitation only to be stopped by a person Micajah assumed to be his brother of sorts (and therefore the Weiyuan name), and the blond bombshell probably called Scyeth had gone and picked a fight like he was most likely prone to do (and with Nathaniel).
What should come next? Should I call someone, offer my help? What the hell can I do like this, besides stand here like a kid stuck in a mud puddle?
His brain mulled over a course of action, his left eye twitching slightly as he ran figures and ideas over and over. There wasn't much he could do now except move up beside the boy that RuiZhi had stopped before, a boy he didn't really recognize with a name to face basis.
"It's probably best if you take a step or two back. I'm sure the teachers are about to do something rather ridiculous in a moment to get the door open, though I wonder..."
An idea, perhaps. Hopefully it wouldn't sound as dumb he felt it would, but it was worth a shot and Micajah spoke out loud, mostly to the boy called Alex beside him and partly to no one in general.
"I wonder if it could be opened with magick? You know, maybe blow the hinges off or something? I'm sure something other than trying a useless key card could be done..."

Al watched as the flames danced as a bright light covered all of them. He was so focused on this sight he did not notice a young brunette speak to him. He paused, unsure of whether someone really did speak to him. Turning around he was now face to face with another student, he looked a little worried. "What happened? I'm not really sure.." he paused, giving the other a small smile, "Sorry. I'll try to ask around."
Needless to say, after that brief conversation a number of other events had happened, causing quite a stir with the students, as well as the teachers. he moved closed to a dark haired Chinese boy, because it seemed that people were approaching him as well. Maybe he knew something? He blinked, unsure of what to say.

Scyeth glowered down at Nat, more than happy to kick a dog when it was down, but that's when something interesting happened. At first, it didn't really sink in, and then, he realized. That was RuiZhi's sister, and as much as she did not like him and he did not like her, it was still RuiZhi's family. The blond whipped around and left the Brit where he lay. War or not, the p***k could be put on hold for an emergency. Scyeth rushed over to where Alex had gone it, but-
He was too late.
Scyeth watched as Weiyuan grabbed RuiZhi, preventing him from getting any closer to the burning building. And then Micajah and Little Russia too? They were all here? No. NO! This was not okay! The blond's brow furrowed and he stormed over, producing a growl entirely unhuman deep in his throat. He was furious. Furious. This was his, how dare they try to rob him of it. His promise. His! All his.
The fire flickered brighter as Scyeth approached and he gave the building his fiercest death glare before looking at the group. "What makes you think sending a bunch of teenagers into a fire is a good idea?" he snapped, rage burning bright in eyes sky blue. They air around Scyeth practically snapped with his anger, as though there were actually sparks around his feet. The night could play strange tricks on the mind, but...

He was putting up one hell of a struggle, fighting against Weiyuan's arms, sounding like a wounded animal. "" RuiZhi was frantic, reaching for the door with all he had, genuinely afraid. He knew the woman could take care of herself, but something about this whole situation was so, so terribly wrong. He could hear someone talk about magic, but...weren't there supposed to be wards up? Shouldn't this have been impossible?
More panic, dimmed only momentarily as the fire seemed to snake out and reach for...Scyeth.
RuiZhi turned as the blonde approached, a new type of panic gripping him. He was going to give himself grey hair before this night was over. The Chinese boy reached for the other, flinching at the sparks but not withdrawing. "Scyeth, you can't..." His voice was weak, his attempt at control feeble at best. Alex was in a burning building, and Scyeth...he was about to...
"Scy?" he tried again meekly. His body was warring between fear, panic and what felt like madness. Eyes far too wide for his narrow face turned between his brother and his boyfriend. "do?>"

We kept his grip firm but not tight, he knew his brother was far more close to the woman than he and he could understand Rui's feelings but they were normal humans. "" He gently pet Rui's hair, pushing the two further away from the flames. He had to keep his composure since there were many more who weren't capable of doing so. He motioned for the other students to come away from the flames as well. He looked directly at the blond. "Scyeth you must calm down now and careful of your hair."
The moment he felt that they were a reasonable distance he sat Rui down, before settling down next to him pulling the younger close. ""

Wow, he was scary. Alex watched the blond storm off towards the burning building with much of the rest of the students, keeping stiff as stone. Pulling his hat, further down his head, the little boy looked up to find another student beside him, putting alight hand on his shoulder.
What was with everyone tugging on him?!
He just ignored his command stubbornly, holding his ground. He only let one person boss him around and his brother wasn't here so he would be taking no sass from anyone. Besides, the kid couldn't be much older than he.
"Magic? Maybe..." Alexander didn't know enough about the magic here to even speculate what it could do. He looked behind him and whined ever so softly. He didn't like being so out in the open and his..... erm pseudo friends had all left him to help that one Asian boy. "Hey..." He tugged gently on Micajah's sleeve. "I'm.... going up there..." He wasn't sure why, something to prove to himself it seemed. "Come on...." He didn't bother seeing if the boy was following, he wasn't going to force him.
He slipped past the scrambling teachers and walked slowly towards the others, keeping a few feet away so he didn't impose, especially on the blond. He could feel the heat radiating from the building, making his eyes water and his throat itch.

"You can go where you please, but do watch yourself. Fires aren't like what you may know about or think you know about. I'll join you in a momen if you really want me to."
Micajah's words were gentle towards Alex, and he smiled softly as though to reassure the Russian youth that whatever he did was a-okay in his books. After all, Micajah had absolutely no idea who he was and what the hell he wanted. Like he'd though before, he was matching a face with a name at this moment and chances are he was wrong.
Of course, his attention dropped from that at Scyeth's little outburst and the crackling of sparks that only seemed to be followed by RuiZhi's pleading voice and that Weiyuan person leading the Chinese boy away.
"As for you, Sparky, calm down would you? There's not need to snap at us like we're here to try and hurt anyone. No one said anything about us going in there."
Micajah's tone was surprisingly calm for someone who was being growled, hissed, and generally womaned at (along with the rest of the people around him who happened to be taking Scyeth's wrath), and a rather condescending smile took his lips. A smile that was best suited on the face of an adult looking at a tantrum-tossing child instead of at an age-level peer.
"We're all just more or less as troubled as any person would be in this situation, and your actions towards us don't seem to be doing your dear companion, doing RuiZhi, any favors."
He made a point to say RuiZhi's name as he spoke, his tone emphasizing the Chinese boy's name in a manner that would make them seem perhaps a bit closer than they actually where. It was mostly done to be goading on Micajah's part, as even an idiot could tell at this point the feelings between this sparky Blondie and his little Asian cuisine.
Of course this probably wasn't the smartest or brightest thing to do right now, as Micajah was somewhat aware that sparks may or may not be real and that growl he heard may or may not really be human, but he felt like pushing his luck. After all, he was the only one out of that small group it seemed to be wearing actual pants. Everyone knew jeans kicked pajama pants any day.

Nathaniel had been watching the scene with a grimace of amusement and a gathering train of thought until Scyeth stepped forward, all anger and punkish comments. He was the embodiment of static electricity and something else: wrath. Lots and lots of wrath, from what the Brit could see. A part of him was smug to see the other losing his control when Nathaniel had kept his perfect composure all the while.
And yet, he was wondering where this was going. Arguments and speculations were breaking off left and right. The Aussie was going off like the flames of an American Superhero, almost as if he were trying to outshine the fire itself. But Nat was not impressed by the other's little firework show, as he considered it. To him, the boy was just undisciplined and needed to control his 'spark'.
Fortunately, it was Veilwood who stepped up to this problem and went over to Scyeth and then turned to address the other students, their safety being his utmost priority. He had underestimated how determined they were to get inside, as well as undermined their undeveloped intelligence. For all he was sure they had to learn, they were ready to go and gung-ho charge through the fire and flames for no sane reason except impulse.
"Gentleman, that's quite enough," his voice was sharp, as he took his job seriously, "If you'd kindly calm down Mr. Akazar. And you there," he turned quickly to the other that was stalking away towards the building door. He'd not been fast enough to grab the boy nor figure out which boy it was, but he knew it had to be stopped before one of them got hurt for no reason. "Don't go near the door." There was no ultimatum, no choice. It was final. His reputation had not yet preceded him, but it would. Oh it would.
The Head of the Science department had to assert himself somehow, because he was going to accept responsibility for most of this. His building burning, his job to get whoever was in out, and his job to keep the students from being dead. That's how he saw it, and that was how he'd handle it. With precision, organization, and rules. Of course, he knew that most of it was thrown to the wind at this point, but keeping it together was the best he could do.

Enough was enough. Having been properly scolded and taunted by nearly everyone in the area, one lovely professor decided to come over and add salt to the wounds. So Scyeth glared and heeded Weiyuan's words, but not before flipping dear Professor Veilwood the bird. He needed to ******** off and mind his own business, first of all. And as for Micajah? He'd have to deal with him later. For now, he settled with a death glare and removed himself to the back of the group.
He had to fix his hair. His pointed ears were entirely too obvious when his blond locks flipped like that.

Things were just getting luckier and luckier for the good professor. He'd had the lucky chance to be concentrating on the other children for a moment and had, unfortunately, missed Scyeth's loving gesture. He looked back just in time to catch the boy toddling back to the rest of the group and looking angrier than the sky on a stormy day. In fact, the teacher didn't quite trust the other to end this so quietly. He was instead simply satisfied by the other's imminent removal and the lack of sparks. And should he get a reputation as being harsh later for trying to calm the insanity, than so be it. But someone had to step up. Students could not be allowed to roam about in this situation. The teachers weren't even sure what kind of danger it was yet, but they had other problems to worry about than the students running it to their deaths, and so it was best if they stayed put for the moment.

"" he replied coldly. That bitter part of him, the cynical and apathetic person he'd become in the past few months reared its head. "" RuiZhi had bid his homeland farewell, but in his heart, he still held some point of darkness. ""
His nostrils flared in anger. Anger was so much easier for him to grasp instead of fear, instead of the encroaching helplessness that he could feel whispering over his bare skin. RuiZhi had aged during his one year in the school; the happy boy had grown into the turmoiled teenager. He tried to pull out of Weiyuan's grasp, not to leave, but to regard him with dark eyes and an expression bordering on a scowl. ""
Maybe he was feeding off of Scyeth's rage...or maybe his hormones had finally decided to make residence, but RuiZhi was nearly fighting mad. He wanted to ACT. DO something. In China, he knew there was only so much they could do at all, but this...if it was just a paltry fire, why wait?
