Wonder of wonders that his name should pass the lips of the sweet lioness beside him. Zeus's gaze darted to her in surprise as he relaxed his ears back, offering her a warm, broad smile in an attempt to put her at ease. "Yes, my Angel?" He quipped, hoping his soft joke would further relax her. "I'm all ears for you, as ever." Ah, what a sap he was, truly. He just couldn't say no to a pretty face, as long as that face wasn't telling him to stuff his tail up his behind and take off. He would be tempted if Chaka did it, but hard pressed to make himself do it. She was just too irresistable. Orange eyes warm, he let his smile gentle a little, shifting just a tiny bit closer to her.

"Well... I mean, I didn't mean it like that." She confessed, glancing away again, tail twitching at her side nervously. "I was just surprised, is all." She confessed, looking towards him again.

Zeus chuckled softly as he leaned closer, his eyes intent as he sensed a weakening of her resistance, even if just in small part. "You didn't mean what?" He said softly, shaking his head. "I'm afraid the fault was mine. You didn't say anything untoward, I just took your reactions for something they weren't... I should have known you weren't interest in a ratty old rogue like me. A sweet little thing like you? I must be getting delusional in my old age." The orange male teased her gently as he shifted his gaze away. He'd rather thought she had felt as he'd sensed, but he had to be delicate now. She was obviously inexpirienced with males and too much pressure might scare her away.

"Don't be ridiculous." She huffed softly, a bit of the rare spark she held for their banter showing through as she batted down his claim. "If you're old then I must have a hidden set of horns and wings somewhere." She gave him a slightly measuring look before edging closer again, then simply got up and moved to sit next to him, eyes scanning. "... Besides," She poked his shoulder with one paw. "I'd hate to think after all that talk you couldn't keep up with a 'sweet little thing' like me." She hadn't even meant for that to come out as wrong as it did, but there was not taking it back and no masking the implication behind the words, so instead she focused on holding her eyes steady where they rested instead, on Zeus.

He couldn't help the grin that spread over his face, he ego stroked by her words. "Maybe I'm not that old." Zeus admited, turning his grin on her. "And you can't have horns, since angels have halos." He teased gently. Orange eyes blinked as she actually moved to lay against him, hope and triumph soaring. His grin turned more sly, his expression warming. "Oh, I never said I couldn't keep up... and if you need proof, I'd be happy to provide it." Zeus growled. "Want me to show you what I mean?" He wanted to hear her say it and it would be enough.

There was a moment of hesitation, but finally Chaka's body seemed to relax a bit, as much as it could with her nervousness at least. "I suppose I've always been too curious for my own good." She admitted sheepishly.

Zeus laughed as he leaned into Chaka, more of a comfortable weight than an effort to squish the poor girl. His voice resonated deep in his chest, humor and attraction ripe in the sound. "I have always had a love for satisfying a lady's curiosity." He chuckled warmly as he nudge his nose against her cheek, then down the side of her neck. He'd finally gotten a chance to really get closer to her and to his delighted suprise, she smelled wonderful... like sun-warmed plants and earth. "If swamplands cound produce a creature as divine as you, then they must not be even half as bad as I'd once thought..." Zeus's voice drifted off as he mused to himself, his mane a stark contrast to her pale neck. Ah, the life of a Rogue was a sweet one.
