Amie hadn't considered the immortality. "That would be hard," she admitted. "Does it... hurt? The giving blood, I mean."
"Julie and Vik, right? YOu have others?"
Sam laughed lightly. "That's exactly what you suggested doing with someone else," she pointed out.

She started to shake her head then stopped. She wasn't sure about others and even she'd heard or read about the other types. "I guess some hurt...I try not to hurt my donor."
"The twins, Josh and Alexis. They're human with a little vampiric traces in their blood."
"True I did but they are also things a person can do on theiur own also."

Amie nodded, reflecting again that she was probably too curious about this for her own good. "I think I'd be find doing that. I mean, it's not like I have a lot of friends to leave behind." It was more justification for fantasies she'd had than anything else. "You're a neat person, she said after a pause."
Marlith nodded. "You get along with all of them then? And how about Raven? Tell me about her too. I've never met her."
Sam conceded. "I dunno. I've just never felt the need to be alone. There's always been someone to do something for. Like you." She grinned a little mischievously as she said it.

"Uh thank you." She was quiet a moment, having nothing else to really say for the moment.
"What brought on all this fascination?" She asked gently.
Dyvim grinned. "Of course I get along with raven. She's my parent afterall. She's a fighter...or was until Asher and Jay decided they wanted kids and asked Raven to be a surrogate mother...Thus she basically takes care everyone. I'm just wondering how she'll manage Julie.."
Alex smiled. "My case might be very long..."

Amie sat down and blushed. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be personal. It's just... so new. Exotic. And... kind of sexy."
"Not everyone gets along with their mother, you know." she pointed out. "Practically all of philosophy is about why people are screwed up because of their moms." She took a drink. "If she's a fighter, what made her decide to stop and watch after everyone.
"Oh? What makes you think that? I mean, you're a nice guy. You're smart, you have a sense of humor, and dare I say it, you're good looking. Most girls would like you, I think. It's just a question of choosing one you could fall in love with."

Ris's eyes lit up. "Eh Sexy? Exotic?"
"I'm not really sure...I have seen her train though, like when Alex and Josh were napping. Like she missed it but she won't give up what she has now I guess...she keeps saying there's nothing to go back to.." He shrugged and ordered a bottle of wine for the table.
Alex grinned. "Exactly my point. I have to be able to see color to know it's her."

Amie blushed further. "Well, yes. Maybe not to you. You've had it forever. Well, for however many years. You haven't told me how old you are. But, I'm human. I've always been human, I didn't even know there was such a thing as fairies and vampires and goblins and any of this till Bonnie came along." he waved to her orb, resting nearby.
"Ah, torn desires. It's a wonderful and sad thing. Many of us never get to know one thing that we truly love. It's wonderful that she found two, though sad that she was forced to choose. It sounds as if she's satisfied with what she chose, even if she does miss the other." When the wine came she sniffed her glass first, savoring the aroma, then taking only a sip. "Would that I'd find something I love that well."
"How does that work, exactly?" Sam asked, meeting his eyes. "Is it love at first sight? so you see color and suddenly you know it's her? or is it like most relationships? Where you meet one another, get to knwo each other, and gradually come to love them?"

Ris peered at the orb. It seemed like it was her turn to be curious about the orb and the girl holding it. "What is it?" What was it? Dear god listen to her! She clearly saw it was an orb or crystal or something....but inside it is what had her...
She even moved to be a little closer to really look at the orb, barely remembering space before she shifted a few inches away but kept close enough to watch the orb.
Dyvim corrected her. "Rather she had nothing to go back to to keep fighting as she had. So yes she did choose to stay with us."
"It runs along the lines of love at first sight. Seemingly I'm able to slip into her mind with ease but I like privacy, so getting to know her the old fashoned way, as we are now, is more fun...."

She lifted it and held it forward for Ris to see. "He was given to me, and he showed me here." The orb wobbled a little, pushing toward Ris. "He likes you," Amie added. "I can tell. Anyway, because of him, I've started to learn all about this. It's all exciting, but you're the first vampire I met. You're different."
"What about you though? Is reading for you what fighting is for your mother? Is it your true passion? Or is there something else you're looking for?"
Sam tilted her head. "So when do you see color? When you slip into her mind? or does it come gradually? Do you see color before you make contact with her and thus know it's her? Or do you choose who she is?"

Ris giggled and reached out to touch the orb gently, like she was petting it.
"I'm sure I'm not the only vampire around here....though as you said, I'm the first you've met. If you ever meet my sister anytime soon, she'll be the second vampire you'll meet. And she'll probably confirm the stereotypes."
"It's one passion. Number one passion though is anything I consider treasure, whether it's my books, family or friends." He sipped the wine a little.
"It's a little hard to explain, but it becomes a bit overwhelming."

Amie giggles along with Ris. "Well, I don't know that I need the stereotypes confirmed. I prefer friendly vampires, I think."
"And how do you determine something or someone is a treasure?"
Sam pouted, only half in jest. "That really doesn't tell me anything you know. If i'm going to help you, I need to know more about this. How will I know that you know..." she trailed off, realizing she was getting into a circle. "What should I be looking for?" she asked.

Ris giggled. "Well, as a fair warning then, Rose comes off being a jerk but she does have a sweet side. She just rarely shows it."
He shrugged. "I suppose if one really cares about a person strongly in some way you treasure them close. I treasure Julie despite her obsession with a pirate that'll no doubt be her downfall..."
He grinned. "For one, you'll find I'll become rather possessive of her, not wanting another near her."

"Well, if you're there with me, I'll feel safe," said. "Nothing better than a vampire friend to back you up in a fight." She was too forward, and she knew it, but she couldn't help it. She was really starting to like this girl, and hadn't felt this sort of connection with someone for, well, ever. THe problem was she was probably basing it on imagination.
Marlith swirled her wine a bit. "But, you're dating a demon. Don't you think she's old enough to make that decision? Whether or not it's a mistake?"
"And do you notice that as well?" Sam asked. "Or will I need to point it out for you?"

She grinned. "My sister? Scary?" Okay Rose was a tad uptight but she wasn't entirely heartless...Her sister could do things that Ris couldn't do...
Dyvim looked at his wine glass and into the deep berry liquid, studying it as though it held some kind of answer to any unspoken question. "Yet you don't seem the type to sleep with anything on two legs...I'm sorry...I guess I, like everyone else, just doesn't want to see her heart broken is all. She's been crazy about him since she was younger...He's all she thinks about."
"Maybe not at first but yes I do notice a change in my behavior." It was a little unusual. Here he was explaining his unknown people to a girl he'd barely met, yet he didn't find anything wrong with her...

"You were the one making her out that way," Amie defended herself, blushing slightly on the tips of her ears. "It's cool that you still make friends even though you know you'll lose them. It shows strength."
Marltih took a sip and grinned. "Not anymore. I had a reckless youth. Sometimes I wonder how I survived. Probably wouldn't have if not for Jareth." She reached and rested her hand on Dyvim's. "I didn't mean it to make you feel bad. It's great that you want to protect her. I think she'll have to wait till her own heart is broken to learn."
"Well that's good," she grinned. "This is going to be fun. And..." she hesitated. "I don't mind if it takes a long time. You're very pleasant to be with."
