That was the colossus of Rhodes, a total abuse of greek culture. They can be other thing than stone, just commonly stone, I mean how many wizards can afford metal? Maybe lead, but that's about it.

I know he's the colossus of Rhodes. These games in general are an affront to greek mythology. No Zeus turning into a goose to have sex with women. No removal of testicles...NO INCEST!!! NOTHING!!!
