Odd Cure connection for the second Crow movie. It was directed by Tim Pope who use to direct videos for the Cure.

I know! I was thinking that 3nodding but I love it cause The Cure are my fav band and The Crow is my fav mov! biggrin

Its the most fantastic combination!

Yes biggrin I'm very pleased with it... it's actually funny cause when I tell people that they look at me like they don't believe me, like i'm making it up cause it's just how i'd like it to be, but it's all true! stare xd

They dont believe that the cure are playing in it or that theyre a fantastic band?? Thats rather trajic sad

Educate them!!!

Yeah! my friends are nasty 2 me about The Cure... they diss The Cure all the time scream sometimes I just scream and walk away!

surprised Thats painfull. My mates just get frustrated when we constantly play the cure.. and then they yell..

Besides who cares. the cure are wonderful 3nodding Thats all that matters

Yeah, i'm terrible! I always bring my walkman to school and they don't even have to guess, i'm playing The Cure. sweatdrop It's annoying cause they know I am but still ask and then when I reply they goe "Ah, who would've guessed!' arghh! thats so mean! but then they take it furver and tell me that Robert's a gay loser (sorry for the negative dumb language) that's when I SHOUT!... sorry, i'm rambling again! sweatdrop

Thats horrible! and calling people gay is such a lame insult. I generally just end up getting in trouble for listening to music at school, usually because its in class time whee ...

sorry, but i best be off, i get to go to the drum shop and put some weird aux percussion on my beloved drum kit... Fare thee well... and some day.. those people will learn.

When I was in school I had the cover of a magazine that featured The Cure on my binder and people would always ask if it was a boy or a girl.

Drums can be fun.

I could rant about this film forever. I own the collector's edition on DVD and I've watched everything on it, I have the Crow backpack, mousepad, poster, and shirt...And I bought my boyfriend a Crow sweatshirt for his birthday.

The Crow is any goth rock fan's favorite movie. It's got NIN's remake of Joy Division's "Dead Souls" and The Cure's exclusive "Burn". I can't get enough of this movie. I'll watch it forever. I also have a burned copy of the soundtrack; as my boyfriend has the original copy.

I could rant for hours, but I must go read "It" now. More later, I promise!

But then again without the violence there would be no film... i just dont agree with the irrelavancy and little meaning the violence portrays... otherwise there is a trajic loss of true love... Buildings burn, and people die... but true love is forever...

Now, Im sure this was brought up previously, but I'll be damned if I let that motivate me to actually check, but The Crow was a comic before it was a movie. As such, some things may have seemed somewhat irrelevant. BTW, what violence in the movie was it, exactly, that you found irrelevant? Also, if you were curious, the Cure song is called "Burn"

I watched this film for the first time quite recently, and found an instant captivation for the scene in which "Eric" applyed his make-up to the song by the Cure... and then the phone rang... and i yelled at it... Anyway, just wondering if anyone has much to say about the film... I quite enjoyed it, with an exeption to the violence
yah that movie was the best brandon lee*son of bruce lee* would have been a big star if he was axidently killed sad

Yes, the comic did come first, but is $40 dollars, which isn't that handy to get when you dont have a job sweatdrop

The violence wasnt really irrelevant because it did tie into the story, it's just the gore from the violence that got to me.. I dunno..

The Crow is my favourite movie, I could go on forever. It's such a tragic love story. I don't mind the violence, it is necessary, infact I like it xd .

I have the soundtrack, a video of the movie with the last recorded interview with Brandon Lee at the end, and I found an mp3 of the music Eric plays on his guitar in the movie.

I planning to buy the dvd soon. I've seen the Eric Draven figurine in store too, it's looks really good and I wish I could have one but it's so expensive. I'd like to get my hands on the comics and novels, but again I need money, so I have to wait. stare

My dad loves The Crow aswell! me and him watched the 1st 1 about 5 times in the weekend! eek

My dad just goes, "Your renting that out again??" eek

blaugh So there is a second one! i knew it, whenever i tell someone that it exists apparantly it dosnt.. stare

Theres a third one too. In my opinion the first one is the best, and then the third, and then the second..I just don't like the second...

Cool-o! I'd ask if you knew where you could rent them from, but obviously we probably wont be in the same area... i think..

do u by any chance live in New zealand, hamilton?

Sadly no, i'm in Auz... NZ's dero neighbours...

Fetta, if you are in Aus (so am I) the sequals should be available, try a Blockbuster or Movies 4 u if there is one near you because they are large stores. I found them both and the dvd of the tv show at Blockbuster right down the road from me.

The first is the best. Salvation was ok, I wasn't really into it that much. City of Angels I liked, it had a more emotional feel to it than Salvation. I never watched the tv show, my brother told me not to bother. sad

There is a poster now on the net somewhere for the forth one, Wicked Prayer. I worried that won't make it here to Aus though. I think the fifth is going to have a female as the main character. And that's mostly all I know. Sorry for writing so much. xp

The sequals are around.. it's just annoying how its categorised, seeming as they don't put all the Crow DVDs together, so you end up running around the whole store..

I havent gotten around to watching Salvation yet, but the series "Stairway to Heaven" is rather.. dissapointing.. Its one of those things that you don't know weather your meant to laugh or cry, because they've mangled up so much of the original storyline.. But what really got to me was the fact that they kept Eric, Shelley and Sarah's names the same.. It's confusing, and they changed the relationships with the cops.. gah.. But he saved lightning boys life, which is a plus.

Well I know this is an old post, but I want to add my say to it. Which is - hands down the first Crow is the best one by far... no point in watching the others. I mean honestly without Brandon Lee, there isn't an Eric Draven or a reason for a sequel. Nuff said.

My fave quotes from The Crow are when Top Dollar says:

"Quick impression for ya. Caw! Caw! *BANG* I'm F***ing Dead!"
Ok it was pretty sad sad and I really dislike the eyeball fetish girl now that I think about it....

The other quote is when Eric as The Crow says:

"Mother is the name for God, in the hearts and minds of children."
Truly a powerful line and scene from that movie. It speaks for itself.

--The violence was completely neccesary, because it puts you into the feel of what happened that Devil's Night. The danger, the unknown... The whole movie feels dark and it's supposed to. Otherwise it would be chipper cheery and entirely defeat the purpose of Eric getting his revenge.

The best movie of all time... if you haven't seen it yet, seriously consider it!

She is a pretty dislikeable character, but they even it out with an ironic death..
Has anyone read the original comic by James O'Barr?
They've quoted the lyrics to the hanging garden in it.. It's really quite awesome.. and alot of the chapter titles are Joy Division songs.. biggrin

I have a friend who is obsessed with The Crow. She is also in love with The Cure, especially Robert Smith. "Burn" is a fantastic song...reminds me of Pornography.
